I don't know how i missed this one! I just watched your "Beds are Burning" reaction, and you mentioned this song. It got me thinking, I once saw all 5 of those artists together, at a travelling rock show called "Another Roadside Attraction", in the 90s. Not on stage all together, but they all played that day. So I looked up this song on Wiki, and sure enough, they recorded the song during that tour. How cool! A souvenir! 🙂

Another Roadside Attraction was a festival put on by The Tragically Hip in the 90s. This was the tour for 1993. I saw this concert in Ottawa and it goes down in history as one of my favorite concerts of all time. Amazing performances by everybody! What a show. I had forgotten about this recording. Thanks for the reminder!

Midnight Oil is my husband's favorite band. We named our oldest child after them. They never disappoint. Great reaction as always!

Seead, What a great gem you have uncovered here. I think fans of all of these acts probably have forgotten about this track. I certainly had. All of these groups wold offer some great tracks to review. Midnight Oil was by far the most internationally successful of these bands and are Australian music royalty. They where promoting awareness of the systemic racism towards the Australian Indigenous People plights decades before the issue finally caught traction hear in Canada. But arguably the most successful of these artists is actually Daniel Lanois. Daniel is a bit of a musical genius and is credited in many ways for creating the drum and distortion forward sound that would finally break U2 into the North American market (and influence countless acts since). I kid you not. Daniel would in the span of a decade be nominated for seven Grammys and win three Albums of The Year in conjunction with Brian Eno. U2, Peter Gabriel, Bob Dylan and Emmylou Harris and Robbie Robertson all have significant industry nominations and wins in part due to Daniel's talent.

The only ones I'm familiar with is Midnight Oil, an Australian band who sang about giving the land back to the indigenous people. I do believe I watched your reaction on a song by The Tragically Hip just recently. These songs help to bring awareness to what's happening to the planet. You would think the people of this earth would already see this, but as with all other problems, people turn a blind eye to it until it's too late to turn it around. Thank you, Saeed for introducing this song to me. Much love to you and your family ❤️ the

All the videos of nature and protests were fimed in Canada. The guys singing about the water is Gord Downie. Since you are now Tragically Hip fan. I thought you would like to know his part.
