Fantastic review as always. Watched it with my coffee as a Sunday ritual again.

I have this pen in several colours. The one from AliExpress with the standard nib had misaligned tines, but once I adjusted them the nib actually writes quite lovely. On Etsy the same pen is available in several more colours, and the nibs were great out of the box for all the ones I ordered from Etsy.

I agree that some of those Chinese nips sometimes require a little bit of tuning but with little effort, you can get them back on the road

I ordered two of these on Etsy and they both came with genuine Jowo fine nibs which performed flawlessly out ot the box. They were not the cheep nibs.

Great! With all the reviews and all the fierce competition, I bet in 5 years from now Montblanc 149 will sell USD$700 or $650. Good, healthy job, Vincenzo!

Once again, a nice review of a Tramol pen Vincenzo! I swear if I didn't know better, I would have thought it was a Jinhao 82 at first glance. For now, I'm holding off on any new purchases in the near future, but this one may make it on my short list for something to think about down the road!

The resin is really much better than the one you find in the 82

I'm eyeing this pen since weeks because I'm not sure between this one and a Kaweco student. Prices are close. Concerning the "iridium point", it exists if I remember well at least 2 different nibs marked "iridium point": one is manufactured by Jowo, and it is often written in the pen description that it is a german nib, and one other, here I don't remember well the country but it is an asian country. I've several in my nib stock 🙂. As always, nice review thank you 👍

1. It seems that this pen is available in other colors as well. 2. Suggestion: Use the same (good) ink for all the reviews. The ink can significantly affect the writing experience. By using a good ink you give the pen a fair chance to operate as it should. The same advice is applicable to the paper as well.

I fully understand what you’re saying but I need some fountain pen therapy and part of it is changing up my inks providing different colours different variety and if I would use the same ink all the time it would just not provide the excitement that I try to evoke when I do the reviews. But scientifically speaking you’re absolutely right

I really like the colors of that pen. Switching nibs and what nibs fit what pens is still very confusing to me. Great review.

The fun is to experiment don’t hesitate by cheaper pens and this way you’ll get the hang of it

I truly believe the Montblanc "precious resin" is nothing else than PMMA plastic, pretty much the same as Sailor, Platinum and others (even Moonman as one redditor told me). Anybody can test it for themselves, the same red glow appears on all of them. Of course this is not conclusive but Montblanc claims are, for sure, overly exaggerated. Other than that, I have this pen on my cart on AliExpress, but I kind of feel it's expensive, maybe your review will change that (or not) 😂

See if they are eligible for black Friday pricing

My Moonman P139 "passes the light test," just like my 90's Pelikan M200 and my vintage 60's Montblanc 320, which was a lower-end MB. My 90's Pilot Custom 74 has a very special material. It appears to be made from two different tinted PMMA layers, blue and red, compressed together to give a red-blue-purple tint depending on the angle of the light. However, my newer 80's 320 (P) and Classic 221 (P) (a medium-line MB) were made of cheaper materials. So, it's safe to say that lower-end MBs (until they were available) were made from cheaper plastic just to make room for higher-end models.

Trammel pens seem relatively expensive for what you get. I like my 630 but....and it has a good nib. I'll pass on this pen foe aesthetic & other reasons. Thanks for review.
