Reading the comments we came to the conclusion that we have a lot of wardrobe, furniture and scriptwriters in the group. They are the ones who do not enjoy the episode because they are looking for the faults on it. A REMINDER:BONANZA was filmed in the 60/70 and all that current technology the tv has today was not still available. You had to have a lot of talent and inventiveness to get make a serie that marked an era on the tv like BONANZA did and even today is an icon. Many strive to see the spots in the Sun and don't see its light. I feel really sorry for them.

This is a strange episode. The Booth character's weird religious readings combined with his jealousy of his brother and obsession over Hallie made him seem mentally unstable and would go after Joe by any means necessary, yet he turned normal by the snap of a finger after the shootout. I honestly thought it was going to end up with him admitting some sort of guilt/involvement for the death of both his brother and Hallie. Also, the tracking shot of Ben running towards Joe was uncharacteristically for Bonanza.
@adrian723006 жыл бұрын
When Little Joe confronted him in the saloon,he realized Joe was telling the truth,and seemed like he finally accepted the reality of his life and relationship with his brother,which he conveyed to Ben later,i think by him becoming a lawman he could rationalize better and put personal feelings aside better,he had to exorcise those personal demons first,his twin brother is dead,he caused Halle to die,the truth set him free...the sight of Ben running was really scary,LOL

High stud in Little Joe's room doesn't match roofline of the Ranch House, nor does the living room down stairs with its high stud, yet from the outside theres a bedroom above it. Another inconsistency is when they're out in the wilderness brewing up coffee on their camp fire - where do they carry the coffee Jug and cups, they don't fit in saddle bags. Doesn't detract from this popular western though.

Somehow it was ok that that Booth character bullied Halley to her death - he got off scot free in the show for that. There's always something major left unresolved in these shows. It's almost as if they're in a rush to end the episode every time. I watched these as a kid many years ago. Maybe they're more appropriate for kids or teenagers.

Did I miss something' ? Who killed Hallie. The writing in this episode isn't up to par for Bonanza. I mean that end scene. "You could have killed him, why didn't you?" A father would never ask that of the man who shot his son. And 'why don't you go in and tell him yourself' he shot Little Joe and Ben is sending him into apologise to him as if he stole his marbles. And where's Hoss and Adam. I know it's probably their day off and they want to play golf but it doesn't make sense in the story line that they fucked off suddenly. No this episode is a tad out there.

This episode was a (potentially) great script & story but it went off kilter at about 3 places, u can see this in particular as the story changes & becomes confused from the original script, they debated This one many times AT PRODUCER/ DIRECTOR & STUDIO EXEC LEVEL FOR SURE ( i think the reason was they didn't want to do another psycho girl story which they had done 3 times over 14 seasons & had more than several re-writes you can always tell when it goes wrong, it has at least 5 possible story lines to it & then is thrown together & wrapped quickly to finish. Bonanza was an amazing smash hit what a run what an incredible run. PS a colt 45 slug to the upper chest, but he'll be alright, a shucks go see him go on in there & tell him yourself, so funny.
@gordonquigg93893 жыл бұрын
This show was stupid right from the start. Whoever wrote this script should have been fired. For all of their law abiding righteousness. Everybody in this episode just gave up on who murdered Halley. Upon this last confession he should have been going to jail and hanging for Halley's murder. This show was weak and incomplete.
