Very different from the usual but a great pleasure as always. I've listened to plenty of PP over the years but can't quite get enough of this good thing. Love how much whimsy PP still has for stuff. As for the most important question: •if Dex entries: Pokémon win •if game mechanics: difficult to say, too many unknowns (e.g. can Surf hit everything, what are the lions' levels/moves/stats) •if game mechanics+lions have respectable levels/stats etc.: lions •if 1v1: lions

Hello Jimothy, as a long-time melee player whose favorite player is PPMD, this was epic, and I loved hearing new insights from such a kind and interesting person. However, there are at least two viable strategies for winning a series of a billion 1v1's vs. the lions that overcome the struggle phenomenon. The first is harvest leppa berry strategies. Consider, for example, a max defense exeggutor with giga drain and harvest, consuming a leppa berry. What is a lion to do? Give the exeggutor a few boosts from such moves as curse, calm mind, or ingrain, and the answer becomes obvious - a clear win for the pokemon. And this is only one of the dozens of pokemon that exist. A second viable strategy that I am surprised you overlooked as a ninjask-fan is baton pass strategies. We can assume that the impact of one individual lion on a pokemon is minimal for set-up time, just as how a persian with slash would do little to thwart a baton pass chain (excluding gen 1 persian, but if we are talking gen 1 rules, that would be a separate discussion in which the lions surely win). Imagine this setup: turn 1, toxic spikes. turn 2, switch to cinderace. turn 3, court change. turns 4-x, setting up some chain of defense boosts, ingrain, aqua ring. turn x+1 baton passing to your max defense poison heal breloom with leftovers. Now, with max defense, you are recovering 1/4+1/16 of your health every turn from the combination of aqua ring, ingrain, and poison heal. Yes, you may run out of moves, but so will the billion lions, and at the least they will slowly die to your struggle damage, and thus you have defeated them using exactly the move that you thought would thwart the pokemon. This is gaming.
@alexengeriser88254 ай бұрын
As an additional follow-up, another viable option for breloom is to hold the item shell bell, so that even in the event that the persians are quite high level (there are a billion of them after all, some are bound to be high level and near max-stats), breloom comfortably lives a critical hit slash and recovers its hit-points using shell bell. The odds that multiple high level, max attack persian battle in a row and critical hit with their slash attacks is, surely, greater than one in a billion. Another win for the pokemon.

Thanks PPMD - you mentioned how people separate their eclectic ideas from 'reality' (for lack of a better word) and how they might get lost in those ideas. I have sort of played with ideas like that for a long time, being lost in my own little world. In my opinion, I loved doing this for the same reason I loved playing Pokemon as a kid. It was something I could retreat to when the pressures of life got overwhelming. I loved my own world and my own mind and I harbored some resentment for those on the outside who put pressure on me to change without letting me choose for myself to do so. There are those people who are much more pragmatic, who find that philosophizing is a waste of time. My current girlfriend is one such person - so the two of us have a natural distaste for each other (lol). By being with her, I think I've been forced out of my head in a way and into a more objective space. It has been good, but it was a challenging adjustment for me. All of this is to say that people may stay in their own bubble and be detached from 'reality' out of fear and resentment. At least that's how it has been for me - and I think people can stay too far in 'reality' or in a pragmatic mindset for similar reasons. You helped me with melee coaching a couple years ago, and you helped me today by talking about this blend of the ideal and the real. Back then, you were kind to me and I'm really grateful for it. Hope you're doing well these days.

In the context of lions vs. pokemon, it's well known that lions can use bite to target ghost types. Lion believers, consider the following: - A Smeargle has the moveset of Beat Up/Conversion/Skill Swap/Recycle while holding a Leppa Berry - Smeargle uses Conversion to acquire the dark typing - A Trevenant uses Trick-or-Treat on the Smeargle, adding the ghost type to it - Smeargle Skill Swaps a Shedinja, acquiring Wonder Guard The Smeargle has infinite PP, a move that hits anywhere between 1 and 1025 times, and is immune to all attacks except those with Fairy typing. How do the lions handle this

@kennythekid1304 ай бұрын
On the 1 billion lions question, I don't know how they lose if the lions have slash without a pp cooldown. I'd imagine each lion could put out at least 60 slashes. the only possible downside would be can they hit ghost types but i'd imagine they could also hit them with some a lot of bites which are dark type moves.

If based on Pokemon Logic Lions would likely have Slash and Bite as their main attacks Lions are also likely Normal types Steel, Fighting, Fairy, Dark, and Ghost types would matchup very well defensively, and anything with Fighting coverage would do well offensively. There is also two different types of Fighting priority to take down lions before they can get hits in But PP is an issue, so it boils down to what group wins the war of attrition If using lore A Charizard can just fly above the lions and torch them with boulder melting flames while being immune from any damage And that is tame by Pokemon feat examples lol

On some superman vs goku stuff, deoxys can breathe in space. Lions cannot. Im sure more than one pokemon is capable of destroying the earth Also it took well over 1 billion humans to eventually birth shakespeare. And he intentionally became a writer. A billion lions is a lot but its nowhere near enough to stumble into significant strategies.
@andrewprahst25294 ай бұрын
Going into space = running away/not fighting = forfeit Other than shadow mewtwo from pokken tournament, there is no evidence of any pokémon with world destroying capabilities. And #1, it's a battle of every pokémon, not every pokémon form, #2 although shadow mewtwo appears to destroy the earth in his attack, the earth is not actually destroyed.
