I heard the stream and saw the breeze and focused on the silent, still warmth of the sunlight. Mmmmmm, just joining in as a witness. Elderly people have for too long been denied their wisdom. But not you, thankfully. Yes, feeling the presence is a mute-full blessing. The less of me the easier the transition and silent sense of fulfilment in the wonder of creation. Life itself and all I do is a work that lives within that creation, mine to believe, to care and to quietly thrive in. That is love.

Artists’ lives, at the core, is their art. The having to express anything is the acknowledgment of and celebration of an inability to contain anything. It is an expression of the Divine itself, shared with others out of Love and wonderment for all that is. I am a 50 year old man from Midwest America. The moment I watched one of John’s KZbin videos and heard his voice resonating with my innermost being I recognized how genuine he is and subsequently fell in love with him. Thank you to all for creating and sharing these videos.

wow! this is one of your best videos yet. I'm a musician and I often feel this way as well. I always hesitate to bring a new song idea out of the vague conceptual realm and start actually writing in the details because it always seems like it was so much more beautiful when it wasn't in focus yet. I've somewhat come to peace with it though, over time you get a little closer to getting it "right" as it were, certainly with God's blessing as you said, and after accepting that it can never be quite right, because you're trying to grasp something infinite and translate it into the finite world we live in.

Hearing that you aren’t always feeling confident in your videos makes me quite sad, because there are thousands of people on this website that only produce content based on trends so they can make money, while you produce content based on what makes YOU happy so that you can help and relate to others. I love watching these John and Phil, thank you 🙏 John is such a wonderful example of how evolved an Enneagram type 6 can become (Phil if you read these, I think you are too, like Ian McKay who filmed from Conscious TV - I know and studied with his nephew Alex many moons ago in London). I recommend John's videos to many of my Enneatype 6 clients as "homeplay"... There is such groundedness, serenity, valiance. It is a joy to behold and witness the true meaning of FAITH, that which that can only be discovered beyond the questioning egoic-mind. How so extraordinarily peaceful - and simple it is... Feet on the ground, look and listen. I loved the part in this where the humility was he questions to Phil whether he did a good enough job with the video? Beautiful! So human. So honest. So humble. How the world would be if this was what we deemed "success" as. And so it is, may consciousness continue to unfold 😇🙏❤️

Indeed, probably the greatest music lesson I learned of late is that when I play the keyboards it is the space and silence between and containing the sounding notes which gives life and breath to the music and allows it to flow like the river behind John in this video. I wish I was aware of this 20 years ago. A great video John..really enjoyed this and the person who wrote you that letter touched on so much realisation of how stillness/awareness cannot be put into language and at best, only a pointer to the reality.

I gave up my creative writing when I realised that I thought (mainly) in words. I had disregarded my intuition until I had put words to it - and therefore misdirected it. I went back to my artwork. I like to paint what I 'see' whether it makes 'sense' or not. One piece is called: two archetypes in the graveyard of mediocre artwork. I had no ideas for a title until it 'revealed' itself to me. Hahahaha! It's way more fun :o)

I suppose I'll doxx myself. I'm the "James" or erroneously attributed "John" as he first mentions my email in this video. First and foremost, I want to say that Butler is a saint on Earth. I'd wrote this to him when I was in a very tough time. Many injuries still last from this period in my life; I'd alienated someone irreconcilably. Things as of now are better; though writing, and the errant task of "capturing" ideas is still a enduring challenge. Thanks all, for the kind words. Thank you John; we will meet again someday, somewhere, sometime, as will we all. God bless. To the alienated and wronged soul -- I am sorry but there is nothing that will ever communicate the pain.

This is an issue I have been addressing lately, and the ultimate answer I've arrived at is that nothing can express that which is so deep and divine such as emotion. I have looked at the various options we have in artistic expression, such as dance, painting, writing, music etc in an attempt to discern which is the highest form of expression. I believe there is a hierarchy, as words, for example, are limited. The highest form, however, is just silence and acceptance :) Thank you for this wonderful video!

It’s better to be humble than to be proud… To rest in being. Another idea for the letter writer: don’t worry if it doesn’t measure up to your own idea. Art isn’t about reproducing reality, who needs that? It’s about offering your take on it. We as writers never know when our words will accompany or touch another. As John says, just keep trying!
