Technically you don't have too and just use magical salvation to set eternal soul. You'd just be missing out on it's second effect. Plus that second effect makes Dark Burning Magic and Magicians' Combination more reliable.

All 3 artworks on the cards come from the original manga panels. 1. Magician Salvation's artwork is when Mana pulls up Mahado when they were in the temple where Zorc was summoned. 2. Shatter the Darkness is when Yami Yugi drew Diffusing Wave after defusing Ultimate Dragon. He told Kaiba that this (Diffusing Wave) would be the card that "tears the darkness" (origin of the name) that controlled his heart. Black Paladin attacked all 3 Blue-Eyes with Choumadou Reppazan! The Atk increase effect looks as if it comes straight from Battle Fusion because it's the same exact effect, but during the penultimate turn, Kaiba attacked Black Paladin with Ultimate. Yami Yugi activated Magic Formula to increase Black Paladin attack. Kaiba countered with Magic Absorption. It took the Atk points Black Paladin would have gained and increased Ultimate's atk. As for the draw effect, I think it just comes from Yami Yugi drawing Diffusing wave. 3. The True Light comes from the battle between Atem and Seto (possessed by his father) after Atem defeated Zorc. This is the first time in the series that there was a battle after the final boss was defeated and before the Ceremony Battle. The first spinoff series to copy this would be ZeXal anime. ZeXal obviously copies things from the original series. The episode title of Yuma and Astral's duel has "Ceremony Battle" in the title. Anyway, Seto was standing in from of the White Dragon's tablet. Obviously, it has a similar effect to Eternal Soul when the tablet is destroyed.

Me too. I even added Beatrice to the extra deck. You summon her using either two apprentices (at which point you definitely would have pitched a DM to summon the second Apprentice) or 1 apprentice and 1 DM Girl. Easy to load the gy with a DM and DMG and Soul Servant with her. I use that tactic when I don't open well so at least i have protection with Beatrice plus GY set up. I also use the BA fusion monster for the Beatrice floating effect. Now I just wait for my turn to draw 3 cards. 1 for the draw phase and 2 from soul servant.

@@zanetrusdale3040 I used to do that (I still have Norito in the ED) but I noticed that having one spell negate on board with nothing else wasn't worth it imo. That's why I do the Beatrice combo. It's also beneficial if you have full combo on board. You can send Magician's Navigation for the spell negation on your opponent's turn. Beatrice is seriously nuts for any deck that can summon it and use GY effects.

I don't think a blue eyes deck summons the vanilla blue eyes often enough to justify using it there. You're more likely to pitch it for trade in after summoning alt, or use it as a fusion material in hand.

DMG needs a proper retrain. The fact that AIM (apprentice illusion magician) doesn’t count her as DMG is really a pain. If DMG keeps getting all this support, there needs to be a proper reason to play her. Even in the magician girl archetype she’s not very good.

:O THEY GOT A FIELD SPELL? xD (Oh best believe I'mma play it cause it's good enough) Soul servant will be putting this on top to draw it Shatter the darkness must be played as a 3 of if you're playing it at all (magicians' souls can net you a +2 if you use it's spell's effect to draw 1 and then send it to grave with souls' effect). Also blue eyes can use that card (which would give it a better reason to run vermillion dragon mech :D). These cards aren't going to be meta defining for sure, but now (at least the field spell for DM) will make it somewhat competitive (at least getting you into the middle tables unless you're a god at piloting). I myself will LOVE to slot this cause it's a searchable field spell :D (3 ways to search it if you run the 1 of terraforming alongside rod and soul servant). You basically run it as a 2 of at least. DM's looking pretty nice...now it feels like you don't really need a cynet mining type card to search rod

Interesting thing to note in the Anime Dark Magician girl counted as OG Dark Magician so that was a better version as she could use the spells exclusive to Dark Magician and have better synergy with Yami's deck

I'm just waiting for their link monsters now. None of this makes them stronger then they were before. DM decks have the Spellcaster field spell, which is one of the strongest negates. That BE trap won't see play. The "Destroy all cards when this leaves" is dumb because BE has 0 backline defence. Ultimate dragon trap is a good card, but The True Light SETS it on your opponents turn with zero subtlety.

The only way dark magician can be "good" is if You Make all the dark magician monsters treat themselves as dark magician in the graveyard, so she could get massive atk and someone create a gimmick "dark magician otk deck" in edopro

@@MattNotFat Chain MST, Twin Twister, or literally anything on it during the battle phase that would send to the GY and then their field is dealt with using minimal effort. Eternal Soul is alright but it’s literally a Raigeki button on your field if your opponent can spit on it, True Light is no different imo. Plus, Blue-Eyes don’t even have something like Dark Magician the Dragon Knight that protects their back row.
