Many of the comments on here are accusing me of demeaning the power of the gospel and the possibility of Kanye's conversion. I AM NOT DOING THIS. Nobody believes in the power of the gospel of Christ more than I. I am bringing up the point that we must allow things to play out and see if Kanye shows good fruit before we whole heartedly endorse his "Church". I feel that Evangelicals are WAAAAAY too quick to endorse anything that seems to promote Christianity without taking time to discern the fruit. I endorsed Brian Welch from Korn when he first professed Christ, and now that he has gone back into the band, I now regret that endorsement. Because of this, I'm going to withhold my promotion of Kanye for now.

Spencer Smith Being skeptical of Kanye’s conversion is definitely very easy given his past and what he’s proclaimed. Time will tell and that goes for anyone’s conversion. I must remember the sin I was in and still struggle with at times. Myself I hadn’t heard of his conversion until a week ago when a pastor friend of mine of a church plant we did in Cody Wyoming called last week to say guess who showed up to our small bible study. Yes it was Kanye and only then did I search into his conversion. That being said here’s what I found and from where it’s coming I am very inspired and excited to see what’s going to happen in the future. For one he’s seeking godly discipleship from a man that’s grounded and sound in the word. 2- he’s truly seeking Christ and the will of God at this time. 3- he’s a young follower of Christ so there is a lot of sanctification to come if he is truly regenerate . Let’s pray for his faith and the wisdom of pastor Adam Tyson because it’s truly a blessing for him to have such a bold preacher of the gospel in his life at this time. He said he laughed and danced all the way to the hospital and he isn’t here to put on a comedy show for them -His daughter interrupted him and told not to say shut up because it’s a bad word - compared some of the events to job, how job lost everything - said he is no longer a Secular artist and will only make music for Jesus - talked about how Christians were the first to hate on him when he wanted to proclaim Jesus. I think it would be a little bit more believable to me as well if he would actually have a testimony of how Christ changed his life and exactly tell what he is denouncing and what he stands for. Also it would be more believable if we could see him receiving some sort of mature Christian mentoring or counseling from a fellow believer to help him on his path. For one, there’s a lot of people in the Bible that had a long and horrible past that God used. Paul the apostle is just one example, Kind David another. Even Sampson was a womanizer. As an ardent Christian, I need to respond in all seriousness to this video, and I would appreciate if you did read this, Pastor Smith. Whatever his past mistakes, you must acknowledge that he's done more for Christianity than anything an ordinary preacher will ever accomplish. Even if you believe this is an act, one look at the comment section of his Sunday service videos shows how many people he's brought back from being a non believers. I think you are mixing your resentment for him making hundreds of times the impact you make with middle Americans who already are christian, while he is reaching and changing the minds of millions, mostly atheists. It is okay, you don't need to feel like you have to compare yourself to him and try to bring him down, that's not the point of Christianity. Do not think of your profession of preacher as a corporate job where the number of years of being a preacher should make you automatically the senior ranking member of the faith. Jesus, in fact, only preached for 3 years. Perhaps you are mixing jealousy that you have yet to confront in your conscience by trying to reason with his past actions. Perhaps God's plan for you is not as big as you hoped, and Kanye having the talent and creativity he was born with, has a bigger role to play than you, and accomplishing it in less than a year so far. THAT'S OKAY. It's okay to come to terms with not being as creative or making as big an impact as him. Learn to accept what God's design for you is, but do not try to bring another down for being much more successful at what you do, especially when it is bringing people back into the fold.
