Hey Abby, I love your channel so I wanted to bring this to your attention instead of unsubscribing and walking away without dialog. I reached out to Lumineux to ask from which country they source their Dead Sea salt and if they could guarantee that the country currently involved in jean-oh-side isn't profiting. I knew this was highly unlikely but wanted to give them a fair chance too. Unfortunately, if they did respond with clarification and a guarantee that the salt was sourced ethically, then I didn't see it. As a fan, I'm asking you to take this up with them and let us know what they say. I'll be waiting on your reply and if you will disassociate yourself from them based on it or not. Like I said I really enjoy your channel and I hope that there is a way for you to continue to get sponsorships from ethical brands. Thanks!

I love that you covered this! All my life eating early/breakfast made me feel craaazy nauseous no matter what or how much I ate. I could never eat before noon without feeling super sick, but as a kid/teen I would choke it down because I was supposed to and was told by my parents it was unhealthy to not eat before school. It def made me slow/sluggish feeling. Now as an adult I don't eat until 1pm and I finally feel so much better. What can I say: my weight is slightly lower than before (it was normal and still is normal) and I feel fine eating breakfast - or not. Sometimes I do often I don't. I measured my blood sugar and my body keeps it in a perfect range whatever I do. Just try out what feels good for you. Doesn't have to be a drama.

I'm not the most religious breakfast eater, as I tend to get hungry later in the morning when I am at work (coffee is more important first thing). And I'm more of a 'eat when I'm hungry/when I have a minute' rather than set meal times. But I do notice when I'm at work, if I haven't eaten anything in the morning, I get dizzy and/or very hungry round 11am. So I take a bagel with cream cheese with me for my commute and let my body decide 'hey I'm getting hungry now, don't want the blood sugars to crash'

On the other hand, my mother has always been a breakfast skipper. She gets sick if she eats early. We are both fit. I’ve definitely found that for me breakfast is a necessity. My post-nasal drip from allergies tends to cause nausea right after I wake up, so I typically eat something to calm down my stomach like some dry cereal or a granola bar and then move on to something more substantial later. (Side note: I hated oatmeal as a kid, but am learning to like it in adulthood. I’ve figured out that oatmeal with some fruit and a side of 2 scrambled eggs is really filling and keeps me full! I’m not usually a savory and sweet in the same meal person, but I like this combo, and since I’ve been doing a low FODMAP elimination diet prescribed by my GI doc, it’s a good option.)

Team breakfast. I have Crohn’s disease and I love breakfast foods so breakfast is the most important meal for me. I can feel a bit weak or anemic in the morning so I like to have a full breakfast with protein: this morning was a slice of peanut butter toast with banana slices, small serving of scrambled eggs and tomato and cucumber slices. While dinner, unless I am eating out, I like to eat light to prevent any disturbances during the night: a few slices of sashimi or grilled salmon or mackerel with a cup of miso or veggie soup... So my tummy is not rumbling but my stomach doesn't feel heavy at the end of the day.

If I could turn back the clock and not have restricted I would. I am rarely weighed these days, but occasionally to keep an eye on things objectively. But I've tried adding in breakfast because everyone says "it's the most important meal of the day" and "breakfast leaves you nourished for the day so you're less likely to crash and overeat and snack in the evening" but it just never worked for me. When I eat breakfast, I get &ungry at the exact same time as when I don't so for me it's just unnecessary extra calories that don't give me anything in return.

Love this! There was a heated debate in my Weightlifting for Women Over 50 group on Facebook yesterday about intermittent fasting. Seems people on both sides couldn't comprehend that another individual needs/metabolism/health could be different from their own. "If it's not broke, don't fix it." Love that. Many of the ladies in the group have struggled/are struggling with weight and health issues, while nearly as many seem to have been in great health at a doctor accepted weight all their life, and they are just not the same. IMO, Breakfast is not a scam, however, the foods Americans push for breakfast are. If you have to radically alter a natural food source in order to have the nutrients required to make it worth being the star of your meal, then that is not the best choice for breakfast. I love cereal as well, think grains are an important part of a healthy well balanced diet, but processed grains should be a side, not the star. Today I had a 110g Good Culture cottage cheese with 30g Great Grains cereal and a tablespoon of Badia Trilogy (hemp, flax, chia). Protein was the star of my breakfast, the grains and seeds supporting roles. Often I will have protein oatmeal made with Fairlife milk and the Badia Trilogy, with 2 slices microwave bacon as a side. Breakfast meats are often high fat and high sodium, so I tend to use them more like spices: just enough to add to the enjoyment of a healthier choice. When I look at other cultures eating soups, vegetables, and fish or meat, it really makes me feel we got sold a bill of goods.

I am a no appetite at breakfast person that still eats breakfast because otherwise i will get crazy hungry before the actual breakfast or lunch break at work with nausea and a rumbling stomach. What helps me is always having my breakfast planned beforehand because try deciding what to eat with no appetite and to easily up the protein i simply drink a cup of soymilk which alone adds up to 10 grams of protein. I think with meal timing it really can be super individual what works best for oneself .

I always wake up hungry because I usually do sports in the evening but I'm not too hungry in the evenings so I only eat a relatively small dinner (lunch is my main meal of the day). I tried shifting it when intermittant fasting was a trend and I was still very much susceptible for disordered eating. It resulted in me feeling sluggish all day, having a hard time concentrating at work, overeating at night, bad sleep and no motivation to excercise. I'm glad I only did it for 3-4 months and went back to having breakfast again and instantly felt so much better again. I also love fresh fruit and always have it for breakfast but during my intermittant fasting times I hardly ate any fruit and missed it terribly.

I make oatmeal waffles with ground oats, half a banana, unsweetened dark cocoa, PB2, and almond milk. Sometimes strawberries, too. I keep packets of the unsweetened cocoa and peanut butter powder ready to make a smoothie with almond milk and whole fruit for a sweetener. 100% ww toast with peanut butter and strawberries. Can’t wait to try it with peaches. It took me a long time to find a breakfast combo that helps with weight loss and doesn’t make me feel like crap. Oh, and macular degeneration is in the mix, too, so low-fat dairy and limited eggs. Cause I don’t want eyeball shots until absolutely necessary.

I don’t like most breakfast foods and I’m usually not hungry in the morning. If I do eat breakfast, I find I have to eat lunch earlier than usual because my blood sugar takes a dip and I have to bring it back up. I’m probably not eating enough protein when I have breakfast, but that’s hard to do when you can’t have eggs or dairy. So I fast! If you do want to fast in the morning, make sure you aren’t breaking the fast by drinking something that spikes your blood sugar and gets the insulin flowing. Stick to water or black coffee until you’re ready to start eating.

I finally started eating breakfast after college and I couldn't believe how different I felt. I actually always had this issue where I was just never hungry but was also always tired/had brain fog but I don't think I realized that until I started actually eating meals. I remem er the first time I went to a dietician I was so shocked bc my whole life I had under eaten so much and basically fasted by default every day without knowing it. I seriously used to wait to eat when I got home from school bc I didn't like school food.

I can’t usually eat first thing in the morning. I wake up at 5 a.m. I eat when I get hungry. It may be 9 or 10 a.m. when I get hungry or may be closer to lunch time, in which case I wait until lunch. I have water when I wake up and coffee about 2 hours after I wake up.

I love my breakfast routine! I have my coffee then when I get hungry I have my oatmeal with a bunch of fruit, nuts, and some peanuts butter. They’ll have to pry my breakfast out of my cold dead hands before I give up my oatmeal!

I used to beat myself up over not eating breakfast cause i thought it was unhealthy not to, but finally when i lost 50 pounds (by electively going gluten free), i didnt force myself to eat it, and felt good, and most importantly stopped feeling like i was failing every morning, improving my mood and relationship to food.

Team Breakfast! I tried intermittent fasting and I never got the loss of appetite that the IF gurus talk about so when my eating window came around, I was ravenously hungry and overate. Eventually the restrict-binge cycle got so out of control that I developed BED. I eat less and have more consistent blood sugar (I'm prediabetic) over the course of the day when I have a solid, tasty breakfast with protein, fat, and carbs. This morning I had a delicious dish of full-fat greek yogurt with a maple-ginger rhubarb compote and I was full until lunch.

I like to work out in the morning. When I forget to eat breakfast I get lightheaded. Not good when you are in pilates working on balance exercises. Also I learned that I get hangry near lunch if I don't eat a full breakfast.

I usually aim to have a little something with coffee ☕️ I just don’t have a big appetite in the morning and i find it hard to eat a big breakfast in the morning. I also have better sleep when i eat dinner later. I can’t fall asleep hungry, I’ll be up for hours

I skip breakfast because of my Crohn's disease. I am very dehydrated in the morning and will juice fruits and veggies instead of having actually food. Fiber is really hard on my system and I normally have to cook it till it is nearly unrecognizable. Which mean a lot of the vitamins and minerals are lost. I also use milk and natural sugars like honey or agave in my coffee and tea. Basically I use these things like liquid snacks and eat my first solid meal at lunch, then dinner and a high protein dessert. My solid food window is 12 hrs. Those first 4hrs after I wake up will make me feel like I want to vomit if I eat solid food, so I don't.

I have a lot of vitamin deficiencies since my intestine doesn’t absorb all the nutrients so I’ve started eating breakfast. Now I’m addicted to overnight oats for breakfast. I wake up between 3:30-4 am and I eat at 9am

I used to hate breakfast because i woke up nauseous. Now i realized the nausea was from hunger. So i eat some plainish oatmeal first thing and it really helps.

When I'm in weightloss mode, breakfast for me is the only way I can meet protein goals. Not a huge fan of breakfast and don't feel I "need" it but it's an easy meal to load pretty huge amounts of protein without feeling sick. Eggs and egg whites (with veg) plus a protein shake a bit later racks up protein grams very quickly.

I haven't eaten breakfast regularly in well over 15 years. I realised recently I was in quite a significant calorie deficit which was limiting my strength gains so I've been trying to add breakfast in. On days when I eat breakfast I'm ravenous for the rest of the day!!! It's like once I eat for the first time my body just wants to keep eating even when there is no way it could possibly be hungry. Like yesterday morning I had high-protein yoghurt with berries and seeds at 9am, and by 10am I was desperate for lunch. I had an extra snack after lunch that I would never usually have, and within an hour of eating my evening meal my body had such a strong craving for chips and hummus it was actually making me emotional. Couldn't get anything done at work because my brain only wanted to think about food. On days when I'm coffee-only till noon, my appetite is more predictable and I don't end up thinking about food all day, but I know I'm not managing to eat enough that way. So conflicted about what to do for the best

I used to never eat breakfast during the work week. It was what came easy to me. I don't want to sit down in the morning to eat something. I hated it as a kid too. A few years ago even OMAD was easy for me. Then in the beginning of this year gastritis hit me. Hard. I had to have something in my stomach all day because an empty stomach would hurt like hell. Now I bring a tiny sandwich with me to work that I eat when I get hungry.

I'm almost never hungry when I first wake up. I don't eat my first meal of the day until I've been awake three or four hours. I'm also not a snacker, so lunch and dinner are pretty much it for how my daily calories are divided.

Sounds like the right thing to do is just try to eat relatively healthy, ensure you’re getting exercise and ultimately listen to your body to determine what’s right

It depends if I work late shifts or early shifts. I am not a breakfast person but sometimes I have to force myself to eat when I work early shifts (as a nurse) or I will probably collapse

I think that the first Amelia eat no matter when you eat it is pretty important and what happened to eat when you’re hungry and use common sense? :-) I find that I don’t like to eat shortly before bed whenever possible so I try to stop eating a couple of hours before I go to sleep, but that’s about it. We are fasting when we go to sleep anyway, so that is also a plus.

Early breakfast for me like 5-7 am before the day starts, no afternoon crashes ..it’s probably my biggest meal. I find I’m not hungry after like 3 pm and sleep horribly if I eat later than 6 pm

I am not really hungry until lunchtime, so I skip breakfast on most days - but if I feel hungry before noon then I am going to have it because I love breakfast food, I am a sucker for brunch food :D so I would say in general I intermittent fast on most days but I always pay attention to my hunger cues as well.

Perhaps eating breakfast is not a factor in weight gain or loss, but for health, the science seems to point out that it is indeed a very healthy thing - especially with the protein component... Dr. Don Layman who has run and done extensive clinical trials and studies on muscle protein synthesis, and others, point out that after sleeping all night and not eating during that period, our bodies are catabolic, and a good dose of protein in the morning is extremely beneficial and important coming out of that state.
