Hey Matt. Hello from neighboring MA. Love the channel. I agree with you that there are a lot of good KZbin channels and much can be learned this way, however, I feel that nothing takes the place of good in person training with qualified instructors. I too have been to Sig Academy on several occasions and have had the privilege to work with Rob Pincus and others and highly recommend it. Keep up the good work!!

What are those things called that shoot the lazor dot when you pull a trigger? I love to practice but it gets expensive. I did buy an air pistol to practice with

Laser trainers. I use the mantis training academy. It’s basically like a bullet that you put in the chamber, but with an o ring so it can’t be extracted when you rack the slide

When I was very young I remember exploring the woods and fields in Texas with a 1911. I think I was 10 or 11. That was my BB gun, stayed in my parents room until I wanted to use it. I’m 43 today and I still have that same old pistol, it’s now an extension of my will from all those years. That’s all the “training” I’ve had with my pistol. Whatever I do works for me.

Because of your videos, I bought a 1911, in 45 ACP, and became a better shooter and gun owner!

I am a 51 yr old Gulf War Marine Corps Vet.. I completely agree with everything you said.. I knew how to shotgun slug a buck in the 80"s, qualified expert thrice in our beloved Corps.. but in 2010ish, when I needed brush up and to teach my girls to be badass, it was youtube and many of the channels you mentioned.. !

Very good points ! When I took my LTC, I had a lady give me a shooting lesson. In 5 minutes, she had me ready to go. She was very good. She was ex secret service/ FBI.

I have a question, is the Declassified World War II 1911 training video still vaild in its training methodology? I can post a link to the video if you have not seen it.

I for one would appreciate seeing the video; I've got a 1911 that I bought used 40 years ago and with which I had to qualify to get a commissioned security gig back then. The video you mention would certainly be interesting from a historical perspective even if some of the methodology might now be considered obsolete.

Reid know his stuff. I've been watching Reid for years. He has some of the best videos. As far as James. I think his mouth over loads his ass to much.
