Lyon Heart Study also advocated: more fish, fruit at least once a day, less red meat (replaced with poultry) ... This is the diet that Dr. Katz just spoke so highly of! Read it for yourself. Thank you Dr. Katz for recommending this diet.

I haven't hear him say a word about meat yet. Red meat seems to frighten people all of sudden like iron is dangerous. WHY? Our ancestors brought us up on it, and until the eighties, they stayed slim even on meat, yes. Meat. It's not meat that you should be scared of, it's sugar.

Fabulous presentation 🏆 just wanted to add about kwashiorkor refeeding, as I have quite a bit of experience with this. Just like long term faster, refeeding has to take place slowly, preferably with plant products such as mashed potato/butternut/sweet potato and some form of porridge such as oats or maize meal with a little milk. And very slowly introducing some animal protein.
@bronwynevans1503 жыл бұрын
Agree it is a sterling presentation. I would question why you would want to introduce animal products? Why not continue with lentils, barley, quinoa, etc. with masses of veggies.

Amazing content and info, very refreshing. Alot of small detail well observed and explained. I love the zoomed out view of it, and also alot of questioning. im just even more convinced of my choice of going from meateaternoexercise to vegetarian to vegan to straightedge vegan exercise alot xD Very creative with the apple toss, common sense, massive evidence one.. good metaphore, and also not a metaphore "you will only hear my name.... " 10 second later "my co autor"

On the topic of God, so many different beliefs, just like what to eat, someone is right. The truth does exist. No one group has it absolutely perfect, but just as true as WFPB is a very good and possibly the best way to feed, doest it follow that there is one group that has it pretty close to right on faith and God?

Was the Ornish Study 100% plant based? Did it not include eggs and dairy?
@carinaekstrom14 жыл бұрын
Basically all herbivores can eat some animal matter. That does not make them or us constitutional omnivores. Also, many things besides grass can grow on marginal lands, and I think it's much better to explore those options, rather than to settle for keeping animals to kill and eat. Otherwise it was a very good talk, I thought.

Hey nutty David. Did anyone ever tell you that meat is made of the same stuff we are made of. Yes, we're made of meat too. And all that fat as well. Did you know that two thirds of our brain is fat? Well! Where are you going to get that from a lettuce?

@@PR-cq4zc According to Genesis 9:1-4 God most definitely gave us the animals to eat as well. ✌🏽❤ 9 Then God blessed Noah and his sons and told them, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth. 2 All the animals of the earth, all the birds of the sky, all the small animals that scurry along the ground, and all the fish in the sea will look on you with fear and terror. If you are a religious person then you would know that the world will come to an end before any chance of mans over population would never come up as a challenge to be solved
@toni47292 жыл бұрын
If you're not a religious person. Learn more about the end of the world. Carl Sagan wrote a book that said if there was ever an atomic war and even if only one side decided to let loose with all it's bombs it would utterly destroy the entire world. We would all end up dead. We're finished🥩👍😅

@only_64864 жыл бұрын
Even if you *need'' animal products for optimal health, it is likely 10% or less of your overall calories. A plant based diet with small amounts of animal products is what centanarians in the blue zones ate.

The real point is that science is not religion. I identify as vegan, but if there were no vegan choices, I would eat a bit of fish. (I live in the wilderness next to the ocean) The vegan police wont arrest me, no entity will smite me, and guilt won’t hound me. The entire animal industry is massively cruel, flawed and dangerous. This pandemic and the next and the next one after that will have direct links to food animals.
