When I was a personal trainer I just had 4 food rules; 1. if the food has a commercial, don't eat it! 2. If the food has more than 5 ingredients, don't eat it! 3. If any of the ingredients has a number in it, don't eat it! 4. If you can't pronounce the name of the ingredient, don't eat it! Put it simply, eat real, fresh whole foods. Stay away from too much sugar and stay away from anything processed, especially processed meats. Make sure your meats are organic if you can. Organic chicken, wild caught fish and grass feed beef.

5’10, 192Lbs. 178cm, 87Kg. Not muscly. I’m 29. Been eating more protein than ever, tuna for lunch, rice, eggs some veg for dinners. Sometimes rice and chicken. I’m eating around 1400-1600 calories daily. I only eat lunch and dinner. I have 1-2 cheat meals a week. (Cheats might be, a burger, pizza, sausage, pastries, and a soda (not all at for the same meal.) And drink water all week apart from 1 meal a week. Been working out (mostly just body exercises.) 100 push ups, squats, sit ups. (Or close to 100.) 60 crunches, leg raises, curls, over head presses, shoulder exercises with 15lbs dumbbells. At least 4-5 times a week. Running a few times a week. (20-30 mins.) 3 weeks in Im seeing no difference. I’m also worried that I don’t feel tired, as I’ve been told that’s a sign or losing weight. And I’m also not feeling hungry. What is my issue? So I need to drop my calories again? I’m just wanting to lose fat right now, get skinny/ lean. And start building muscle from there. I also feel like my arm muscles have gotten small even though I’m working out more and eating more protein? Edit, I don’t have much of an appetite, and I have tried the “ripper” brand of fat burners but haven’t noticed any difference. Everyone says it makes your heart race, never did with me. Tried fasting and again it didn’t work. I just weighted myself, I’ve gone up 9 Lbs in a week. How is this possible? I’ve cut back so much and working out more than ever. Is my body maybe retaining fat? Maybe due to eating too little ? And if I manage to loose weight, what will help me with muscle growth without putting on fat? All I had today was a egg, like a handful of cereal for breakfast with coffee. can of tuna, water for lunch. Rice and 3 eggs for dinner with some season like basil, chilli. And some fruit. Apple, orange and banana. I don’t really have a big appetite.

I'm overweight, by 50 kg, by my count. I started to work out during the pandemic. I eliminated a lot of sugar, and lots of carbs. I eat breakfast in the morning, chicken salad for lunch, and meat, eggs and broccoli for dinner. Since then I lost about 40kg since then and I am more athletic and nimble now. And feeling great, but want to feel even better. I've had a lot of help from a nutritionist, which I highly recommend.

I heard so much today from you both that validates what my trainer is telling me vs my GP and urologist about macros and my labs, specifically protein intake. He stated, as did Dr. Felix, that these metrics are ANCIENT. I’m really shocked they are still being referred to with such authority. Awaiting some follow-up testing to hopefully get back up to my normal protein intake. Looking forward to the next part!

Great breakdown! Just to keep track of calories, I now just use a simple spreadsheet program :-). Being vegan, I'm very happy with the existence of protein shakes, but caveat does seem to be with protein shakes to only consume a max of 30 grams of protein in one sitting or else it won't be used for muscle synthesis.

I would bet you have insulin resistance. I would recommend 1 month of a ketogenic diet. Less than 20 or 30g of carbs per day (not net carbs). Limit meals to 2 times per day in a 6-8 hour window. Then see where you are at. Look up videos from Dr. Eric Westman. He's not a sexy YTer but has some really good information based on decades of treating patients with obesity.

Just be active in a range of sporting activities, do some weights, some rowing, swim, cycle, running, walk, don't take lifts/elevators and eat well, you'll never be in bad shape then. The Craig look (or general Hollywood actor physique) isn't especially natural looking and just looks like the person is doing it for looks and personal narcissism and not for being a functional physique
@hcantrell105 ай бұрын
Agree with the sentiment of functional as the goal, but I wouldn’t say Craig’s physique in any of the movies is how you describe it. He looks very fit and the functional training Sam Waterson describes when speaking about training Craig is further evidence of that. His physique is not one that looks to me like someone purely training hypertrophy or aesthetics.
@sandersson28135 ай бұрын

Did you get to the speed of protein intake? If you take in 3 protein rich meals a day to reach your protein goal is not ideal. The body may not be able to fully absorb more than 10g of protein per hour so if you have 40g of protein in a 30 minute period, some of that is going to waste or fat.
@NPow945 ай бұрын
You need to get up to date with your research. That is an old school myth that has been debunked by recent studies. The body can use and absorb much more than that in just one meal.
@CreativewithGoals5 ай бұрын
It seems to also depend a lot on what kind of protein you're consuming, protein shakes are apparently very fast digesting and only 30 grams max would be beneficial in a smaller time period, but with other protein sources even a cap of 100 grams for a sitting was just fine.

I said it before and I will say it again: it is obvious, that Daniel Craig used Steroids in Preparation for his movies. He shows muscle-gains, pro-natural-bodybuilders can only dream of and his explanation contains a couple of sets of pushups, a bit of circuit training and eating some fish and chicken. It's written down in the book of his trainer. And I say that without disrespect about him! I love that actor and his movies and I totally understand, why someone would take steroids when you earn your money with it. But serious... don't fool the public with those books. There are teenagers out there, wasting their time, willing to copy their idols.

I've never read a more misleading and ill-founded title: the Bond shape? Seriously? To all the smarties out there: that "Bond shape" is just a marketing gimmick - there is absolutely no scientific way in which someone who's on a diet of liquor and other alcoholic beverages, quail's eggs, caviar and foie gras, who doesn't exercise, sleeps erratically, (formerly?) smoked an awful lot, and is constantly under pressure from his occupation can be in the shape that the producers wanted Craig to be in throughout the whole duration of his tenure as 007. That's just science fiction.

1g protein per pound weight seems sooo unrealistic. An egg has 6g protein... even if you eat 3 per day that's just 18g protein.. cheese, nuts and meat have 1/4 of their weight as protein, so you would need to eat 680g of dry meat, cheese, nuts as a 170 pound guy. That seems unrealistic.
@BJSatisfield014 ай бұрын
I thought the same a year ago, until I figured out (for me at least) if you aim for more lean meat you can actually digest more. And when it comes to eggs, if you combine 1 or 2 eggs with 2-3 servings of egg whites that’s a total of 20-30g of protein alone.
