I am a dentist and most of my patients are on statin. My physician tried to get me on statin. I am 100 pounds and five feet. I exercise everyday. Weights , cardio etc. I went to see a doctor and had a complete blood work. My HDL is 79. I refused to take statin.

I was just prescribed one as I was walking out the door. I have never had a cholestorol issue. I am 5 feet and 110 pounds. They never gave me a reason or told me anything about the drug at all. It's been two weeks and they still can't give me a reason because obviously there is no good reason.

Fantastic. My doctor has been trying to get me on statins for decades. However, I know about how to calculate ratios, and they are excellent. I consume HDL raising foods like EVOO and fish 2 to 3 times a week. It breaks my heart that doctors continue to prescribe meds rather than treat the real cause. I love your book.

I went back and checked my lab work from a 10 months ago. Total Cholesterol was 311. Then was broken down to HDL 118, LDL 176, and Triglycerides at 86. My doctor at the time said she wasn't worried because the HDL was high. At the time she mentioned treatment flat told her not going on Statins. To my surprise she told me she wouldn't either. Now have new Doctor fresh out of Med School. She told me to stop Keto because it's high in fat. will be interesting to see what my lab work shows in December.

My doctors have been telling me for years that although my LDL was on higher side, there wasn’t anything to worry about because HDL was almost double the LDL. Next thing I know I’m having an angiogram and whilst there had stent put in for a 90% and a 70% blockage, I was sent home on blood platelet medication, blood thinners, and cholesterol meds. When I asked why this could happen when I’d been told my HDL was so good, no one and I mean no one could give me an answer. I stayed on platelet medication for a year but definitely not cholesterol, and funny thing…doctors don’t want to know you if you question anything or don’t do as they recommend. I don’t have faith in doctors anymore. So now Ive left it in Gods hands.

How do I know the particle size of LDL
@kathym932210 ай бұрын
Your body makes cholesterol. You need it. Bit you don’t need excess which comes from dangerous food choices. From my own family’s experience, your cholesterol can be lowered dramatically by eating a healthy whole food, plant based diet.
@kraka2oanIner23 күн бұрын
I had a lipid panel done recently. My triglycerides and HDL numbers were O.K. But my overall cholesterol was 300, and the LDL was 172. This didn't include particle size(!) and didn't include the fasting insulin OR sugar levels. I was prescribed a statin; I've been taking it ~3 days, then off 2 days. I've HEARD that those aren't great drugs, but I also think there are times when they CAN be used...that's why I'm taking them on a limited level. I suppose I'll try to get the complete numbers...IF available.

Every individual is incredibly unique! When we lose weight while our bodies are adjusting to this lifestyle, we metabolize stored fat, so the cholesterol normally stored in fatty tissue will be released into our bloodstream, causing a transient rise in blood cholesterol levels. This effect is not permanent and cholesterol levels will commonly decrease as your body adjusts to this lifestyle.🙂 - LGD Team

Hi Dr. Livinggood. I've had high total cholesterol since 1982 after a total hysterectomy. My most recent lipid panel: Total cholesterol; 272 (down from 380) triglycerides 86; HDL: 61 (lowest since 2016) LDL 196! Small particles; 15, though. I'll pull your book out again. I've refused statins for YEARS. Had a 'complete cardiovascular baseline work up done at age 70; stress test w/ecg, doppler of caroids, CT of heart: all good. Hypothyroidism has been managed with T3 and T4 since 1982 as well, would like to get off of them. One disturbing number: total estrogen 296! They categorized it as: In normal range. I'm 73, using a compounded cream of E3/E2 low dose. Ideas? Thank you. ⚘️ 🙏

Wondered if not digesting fats well or have enough bile can increase C, LDL or maybe lowers? Have good ratios (good TG 73, F insulin- tho lo hour after ate) but particles are a little high and mostly eat geens and meat but found need some more carbs to keep weight up. Since LDL is slowly going up , trying to find causes. If liver ALT slightly high, might that be cause. Figured Cholesterol wasnt turning into enuf hormones (all were low labs) or bile (wonder how to measure) . Interesting video
