Amazing video. My only concern in all of this is the fact that as a medical profession we insist on pushing statins on patients along with often many side effects to lower their cholesterol. Do statins lower cholesterol, undoubtedly yes. The bigger question is though why do we consider that to be a good thing. Study after study has shown that higher cholesterol levels are protective against stroke, CVD and all cause mortality. Women's health initiative, Sydney heart health study to name just 2 but there are many more. I suggest if you are interested in this then cardiologist Nadir Ali and researcher Zoe harcombe are a good starting point then maybe someone will figure out that statins are doing more harm than good. These have been around for decades and if they work as we hoped they would CVD would be on the decline. Maybe we got cholesterol wrong. Common sense to me says that the liver wouldn't go to the trouble of making cholesterol if we didn't need it!

Great job and very informative! But I want to notice that the LDL is not "BAD CHOLESTEROL"! It's a very important molecule,as you've mentioned in this wonderful video,for cells life.
@erastvandoren5 жыл бұрын
LDL is atherogenic, as are all ApoB lipoproteins.
@BarberNick3 жыл бұрын
Obviously i respect what you say but disagree with the term "atherogenic" because the LDL is only a molecule that produced from our body(liver) to transfer lipids wherever our system needs!Now, if our body oxidized ,for a couple of reasons, our lipid molecules(LDL) it's not because the LDL is "BAD" but because of our choice to what we eat-think-doing lead to oxidative stress producing free oxygen radicals which in turn oxidized our lipids and other important molecules etc. I don't want to agree with me but I like the dialogue (Free speech,expression etc) For these reasons thank you very much for your response!

I was just trying to learn a little about cholesterol. Fire hose! Seriously, I am positive my doctor does not know anything about this, or he is hiding it well. Why does he keep saying everything is fine just increase your insulin when you cheat a little, and then increase my statins or change them. I know my memory and sight are going, but they improve when I change my diet, but then I get light headed and weak. I really regret going to this doctor in the first place. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge, I will learn this stuff and fix my own body.

Fatty acids from the intestine over 12 carbons get packaged into chylomicrons (apo b-48) and are taken up by the lymph system and then dumped into the subclavian veins-> into blood circulation->dump some FA's to mcle and fat-> then go to liver. FA's from the intestine with 12 C's or less (eg. vinegar or coconut oil) get absorbed directly to the liver via the portal vein. Correct me if I'm wrong. Good videos.
