David Burns wrote a book called Feeling Good where he outlined the 10 cognitive distortions. I found it helpful to write out some of my negative thoughts each day, such as, "she didn't call me right back so she must not like me" as an example. Next to the thought I would write which of the cognitive distortions apply to it. Black and white thinking applied to so many of my negative thoughts! I thought this might be helpful for all of us ME patients who are usually perfectionists with high expectations, etc. Thanks for bringing this up Toby.

I've been doing well with limiting my activity, keeping in mind to do half of what I feel ready for. Unfortunately, several emotional issues have arisen recently, which I couldn't plan for, and this has knocked me back. All of the video resonates with me and it's how I've been improving. The guilt, frustration and over expectation were my biggest barriers.

Thank you, I listened to this last week and it didnt take it in. I went to my elderly parents at weekend and over did tasks etc to try and help while there. I have been in bed most of the following 4 days, once got home again. I listened to your video again, not realising it was one i had already listened to. It makes perfect sense now. Need to choose the tasks and find short cuts etc with the cooking etc. I really wanted to do the things i did but of course I'm paying for it now and delaying my revovery although I guess I'm finally learning from it , thanks to your video.

I've spent a long time changing my mindset on not having to do 'all' in one go....still practicing... with guided meditations morning and evenings. It takes determination not to push yourself ❤

Perfect for where I am now. Trying to stop BEFORE I think I have to or it ends up I do too much. I want to keep going when I feel good in the moment but I need to stop and check in after a period of activity BEFORE I get tired.

That's where I'm at. I was always an all person now I am older with some health issues, it's nothing and my flat has NEVER been so dusty. Everything needs doing, now I am overwhelmed and doing nothing. Now I am depressed and stuck.

So when I got a 3 hour day? No depression and a very good knowledge what concerns the power of thinking ( I actually got twins by wishing it since I was a child, so I know exactly how powerful the thinking is!!) So I try to do things very carefully and slowly because my experience has showed me that doing much and ignore my body signals, will cause me worsening. So CFS is CFS. ME is ME Myalgische Enzephalomyelitis. But having ME gives CFS. So this what you are saying, doesn’t include us with Me Bell 20???? How can we heal from POST EXTERSIONAL MALAISE?????????????????????Thank’s for an answer ❤️

Excuse me, but it does in no way sound like you are talking about ME. Do not mix ME and CFS. I’ve been ill with ME for nearly 30 years(I was 13 when I never recovered after a flu). I have never been depressed, I am a positive thinker. Have been completely bedridden and now an ambulatory wheelchair user. My illness fluctuates during the years that go by, without any seemingly reason. I know many with ME, they are the most optimistic people I know. We just adjust. If we can’t go for a walk, we walk from a chair to bed and call that a hike and are happy with that.

I don't think he will answer. It's like a lot of channels where the same thing is claimed. This is about CFS. Psychological. People keep confusing it. Very tiring.
@imse813 ай бұрын
@@rainbowwarrier1469 exactly. People like him make life hard for people with ME. They start to think it must be something really wrong with them psychologically, since positive thinking does not make them better. Then they start pushing their limits, maybe go to a Lighting process course and end up worse than never. There are people who never recover to earlier level from this kind of course and push and crash. People with ME will try almost anything to get well and then we meet people like him.

"....mental issue..." and always being dismissed as a complainer/baby.... cultivates "over doing it" since even 'doctors' really don't appreciate what's going on here!
