This video is about Dogs in Thailand. I am talking about street dogs and domestic dogs. Sometimes the domestic dogs can be classed as street dogs. These dogs roam the back streets of Bangkok, and by and large they don't pose a problem. But as about 10% of street dogs have rabies. it is advisable to be aware of the dangers of Thai Street Dogs.

The ironic thing is I live in rural Isaan and thai drivers have no respect for animals in the road and drive crazy speeds. If a farang hits a dog its hell to pay but for a thai it goes unpunished . So much for their Budhist beliefs that all life is sacred !

Yes, the stories in numerous KZbin videos suggest there is a Thai-supremacist attitude towards everything there.

I would have loved to start a help streetdogs of Ao nang!! I love the place. And I love the streetdogs. I fed ca 20 dogs there. It was so terrible, (I dont understand how they dont help them better, the people that live there.. but I understand of course that if people cant feed themselves then its not easy helping dogs.. ) In Norway we would have started a shelter and helped them. I was so happy that I could help when I was there!! Wish I could do more... 🙏🙏🥰

I was a paper boy as a kid so I know all about it. There was a dog named "King", a Tibeten Mastiff that was a terror for years. It bite my brother Kenny while he was delivering papers. King bite me while I was collecting from the owner. The dog walked right around the owner standing in the doorway handing me money and grabbed my leg. The owner kicked the dog off the porch and beat him severly in the front yard right in front of me. Gave me a paper towel to stop the bleeding and sent me on my way sniveling. The dog came after us for years until my Brother David brought a big stone down on his head and knocked him out. About a quarter mile down the road, Dave looked back to see King stumble back to his yard. King lived a few more years but mostly stayed on the porch and didn't go after the paperboy anymore.

The dogs change nature at night. The dogs are peaceful and mind their own business in the day on the soi but at night it is different. You would not walk in my village at night without a stick and be prepared to use it. The worst thing you can do is show any fear, they can tell for sure. They come in packs of four sometimes. There is a dog in my village that has no problem jumping the 2 metre wall of his owner's property.

From what you and other foreigners have stated in online videos, it appears much of mainstream Thai culture is unable to responsibly: * own pets; * operate motor vehicles on shared roads; * discuss difficult issues; * enforce their laws; * treat women; * manage solid and liquid waste; * manage air pollution, especially in the north; * provide potable drinking water. Surely this all can't be the case ...

I may consider move to Thailand with my dogs. May I know if people steal dogs in Thailand? It is very often happened in country like Vietnam where they steal people dogs to sell to another person or for meat.

Dude stop. Nothing you posted makes what he said untrue nor invalidates it Every word hr said was conveyed w respect and empathy, towards both the dogs, And Thai culture. Not 1 word was a criticism. Merely conveying that street dogs pose a literal threat to a person's safety. Especially for foreigners, because of the Thai mindset, especially towards any foreigner, the rabies risk, and the fact that in even under the Best circumstances? Thai roads are dangerous. Especially when, if bitten? You need to get there quickly. His position? 1) Why wouldn't people be more mindful of the safety of other human beings? Control their dogs? At least roaming the streets? Why let strays roam? You have to try hard to not see that.

Picking up a rock to throw at them, or even pretending to pick up a rock is often enough to make a dog retreat. All Thai dogs have been stoned. I broke up a 4 way dog fight yesterday with a length of blue plastic drain pipe which was lying around. One of the dogs was mine. I just whacked then all (on the back) until they stopped. A nine iron would do a dog serious harm, overkill in my opinion. A stick would be better. I have 2 soi dogs, I've had them 9 years now. They have never bitten anyone but get into scrapes with other dogs and they chase the odd delivery guy. I also cycle and there's a bunch of dogs at an abandoned hotel will try and have a nip. I find getting off the bike and using it as a shield works. Where do you get the 10% rabies figure from? Sounds high. One guy once maced my dog, she was doing nothing but wagging her tail and being nosey around his dog. I was torn. I wanted to smack him but also wanted to wash her eyes. I did the latter.

I walked by the same dog everyday under a parking garage in Bangkok for three months. No problem. Government said it’s ok to take your mask off outside. Now every time I walk by him he growls and nips at my heels🤷🏻‍♂️. I guess he doesn’t like farangs 😂

DUDE I USED TO STAY IN A HOTEL IN LADKRABANG THE HOTEL STAFF ONE IN PARTICULAR WAS ENCOURAGING THE DOGS TO THE HOTEL FEEDING THEM. I WAS WALKING UP THE SOI TO THE HOTEL ONE DAY 2 DOGS STARTED BARKING THE RECEPTIONIST MADE IT CLEAR THAT HE PREFERS THE SOI DOGS TO ME A FARANG.AFTER ALL THE SOI DOG WAS BORN IN THAILAND (THAT WAS BEFORE CV19) PROBABLY 2018 i was in pattaya 2019 in a place i would not usually stay but as it was chinese new year all the usual hotels were full. so the female taxi driver said she knows somewhere i said nearby... she drove me to some outer the way place so i needed phone sim the 7 11 across the road was out of sims so i walked up the road in the darkness out of nowhere a kinda black alsation appeared growling barking i lift my foot back like i was gonna kick and it slowly backed off 3 days later i was going to the hotel from a different route some motorbike taxis were at the top of the road asked if i want a taxi i said no, they looked at me like i was mad. i thought i'm riding a kick scooter why would i need a cab? scoot down the road start walking about 5 soi dogs came from no where viciously growling barking i started swinging my scooter around they slowly backed off the same road 100metres on another pack of soi dogs come out of nowhere and start attacking me. i start swinging my scooter around at them after about 2 minutes they start to back off but still barking viciously not to lose face a motorbike taxi driver pulls inbetween me and the dogs and says: "dont do that they dont like it!!"

Carry a stick and you will have absolutely nothing to worry about. I recommend a brush handle, something with a little bit of heft but not too much, just use it like a walking stick. I have beaten and kicked many dogs, nobody ever gave me a hard time about it.
