Gabi my star 🌟 let a friend share with you 😊 With sponsorship I believe the same as you although partially there could be ways...I think more interesting would be the way to smoothly integrate them into your product...but I am sure you gonna do this fine Sure pulling out spontaneously the camera as you do has some bad sides but I believe you doing it great and that makes your scenes so alive and real as you are so real yourself in those scenes Now about the beast yeah we all don't have it inside of us :) an old Greek saying which I constantly pick up every day ''παν μέτρον άριστον'' which means more or less ''the middle way in things is the perfect'' you can use it in all the situations of life I believe. I am also a travel youtuber with 90 hours of content (700 vlogs) --- that I am now enjoying looking back on. I hitchhiked overland from Paris to Bombay, when I was 20 years old in 1967. I am now living in a one-room shack without running water in the jungle in Hawaii at age 77, and my hands are too shaky to vlog anymore. Also, as you say --- travel-vlogging vast-tracks you into global citizenship --- your eyes grow new global lenses --- enough with those squabbling, warring cataracts of nations! Your videos are more than just travel. They are full of life as it is with your eyes seeing it in your special way. Your explanation here in this one answers many question I’ve thought about concerning travel vlogging. The positive you described that for me is the best is the last one. You may not realize how many lives you affect or how many people will remember you and your videos when you’re old. But you really do add to the lives of others. I actually teared up with your second negative. I have a small travel KZbin channel. I am trying to be conscious and be aware. I need to learn how to prioritize my time. There are so many times I am missing out on "the moment" my husband thankfully tries to keep me in check. But it's hard, you want to make sure you don't miss out on anything that might be good for a video. I also agree with the other points; the product (if ever) would have to be something I truly believe in if I am going to put it in a video. As well as the album, it's great when I'm "home" to look back and be like.. holy! Remember all these crazy things we did! Thank you for this video, really refreshing!

Very valuable insights imho. The exploitation of every single precious moment comes with a huge emotional price tag. It’s a loss of innocence, and, as you mentioned, real presence. It is a bit like selling your soul. The question is: are you willing to keep paying that price? Quite a dilemma indeed, particularly for someone as intelligent and sensitive as you. Your video popped up randomly this morning and the title caught my attention so I watched. I don't create nor do I know any creators (to my knowledge) however, the number two point of not being in the moment is one that I think everyone should reflect on. If anyone in my personal life was a creator, I would of course wish them success, but the number one rule for interacting with me would be: no recording. Even for cell phones alone, I have a small table in my the front entrance for them. Everyone that visits me must put their phone on the table. If we are visiting, then I expect a true visit. Exceptions can be made if someone is expecting a call or a text but once received, the phone goes back on that table again. I am not anti-technology because I like to take pics when I travel, but those pics come after me experiencing something first. At my age, I think that part of me will never change. I particularly loved that you were in a quiet peaceful forest and I loved seeing drone footage of the area. For myself I far prefer sponsorship and brands than adverts. I've learned about some really interesting brands from other channels that I will actually research and use. The second channel you used to have sounds amazing. You have just the right type of personality to be guiding, advising and coaching people how to make travel videos or whatever you want to help them with. This time try maybe making them in English (your English is SO good. I absolutely love Italian, and studied it for a while but I cannot speak it). You're right about travel being a teacher of life. It really broadens our minds. Sorry for the long post but there was a lot to be said! I hope you start a second channel again Gabi, and definitely monetise it. Gabi i'm sending you a big hug from the mountains of Guarne in Colombia. Keep doing what you love. Everything you said is right on the money. I did the travel vlogging life for a total of 16 months but gave it up becuase of the things you said on the negative side and other negative things I experienced. Now I have settled down here and just focusing on my day job (26 years as an English teacher), building up my home, my spiritual practice and KZbin vlogs about the Medellin metro area and Rionegro metro area overall. Those videos are just once a week or every other week in general from September onward. I'm NOT going to feed THE BEAST 🤣. Seriously I am not. You should consider doing live streams as an experiment. Some people will start to give you money through the DONATE button in the chat area and it all goes to you. I used to do that here in Medellin and a few times I got some nice donations. You have a way bigger following and hopefully you'll get good money through that should you decide to give live streaming a try.
