Yes KZbin is hard but success is possible and really it's about the long game. Once you find what works for your channel in terms of video topics and editing style; you'll be on your way 😊 I'm proof that it's possible because I got 1,000 subscribers on my gaming channel and Nick advice on here has played a big factor in it. If I can do it in a oversaturated gaming genre; then you can do it too. Keep going, don't lose faith in why you wanna create.

I've been doing KZbin now for over 3 years. If I was starting today, here's my top 3 tips... 1) Follow Nick's lead and incorporate his techniques into your own video and channel. Not only does he know his stuff, but he consistently updates as rules and algorithms change etc 2) Think of KZbin as a marathon not a sprint. It will take time to get results, but hang in there. Even Spielberg shot his first movie once. As your videos improve so too should your success. 3) Don't compete with other channels inside or outside of your niche. Compete with yourself. I've got a spreadsheet I update every day that tracks analytics and compares my figures from previous years or months. I also track what's my best and what's my average views, subs, watch time etc. As time goes on, my average gets higher and it's satisfying to see my original figures that I thought were great, fade down the list as new figures come in. You can do this! If I can, anyone can! It just takes time, effort, and perseverance......with a sprinkle of luck 😉

This was amazing and what I needed to hear. This is definitely true. I am going to take your suggestions. I started to make money and find myself. I had no idea what I was in for. I hung onto Nick, Sean Cannel, Darrell Eves, free videos. I think I’ve done Sean Cannels five day class (the free one) at least twice. I’m a slow learner. I had no idea this would completely change me. It’s stripped me of long life fears, I’m completely vulnerable and didn’t realize this was happening to me. I realized this yesterday and laid in a fetal position and cried. Afterwards, I thought about my KZbin channel and I realized I had to keep going. I’m turning into a different person. Thank you 🙏🏾

Great video. It’s definitely all about the journey. I started a few weeks ago and have made nearly 60 videos. It’s mostly music but I’m branching out to my stories and music with storytelling behind it. A lot of them have 10 views but I’m proud of the videos and won’t delete the old ones because I want to see the improvement on each one. I love being a KZbinr and will never give up getting better to reach my goal. Sending love to everyone else and can’t wait for us all to be epic creators! ❤️❤️😊

This was exactly what I needed to hear. Consistently showing up does get hard when results don't match our hopes. I'm trying to get better about letting it go so I can move on and start creating my next video. I learn (I think!) from those videos but then I get nervous about the next post because what if I screw it up again. Almost every day, I tell myself the same thing: "I. Will not. Quit." Let's go, everyone. We can do this.

I love your style of sharing knowledge. You really stand in our small channel creators' position to share your message👍🏻👍🏻 Yes in fact many creator leaders teach us how to make videos "go viral" or "the lazy way" or "how to copy others' success". In fact I don't want these. I even don't need my video goes super viral. I just want my channel perform better and better each day, with increasing view time and no. of views. That's enough.🌟

This channel I’m commenting on is a gaming channel (indie horror/comedy). Hit 1k within 2 months but then flatlined. Now my other channel grew slowly (food reviews) but every video I post I have a loyal audience and at minimum I hit several hundred views but usually thousands. Thanks for the video Nick. I really like watching your videos and using your advice, One of the best pieces of advice I have seen given was to just be yourself. I used to try and emulate bigger channels in my niche, but it just wasn't me, and I knew after a while, I would not be able to do it. I am not comedian or have an over the top personality, so I decided to just be myself. I do fact based videos, and I may throw in the occasional joke, but it's not something that I do all the time. My videos have been slow in picking up, averaging 10 to 20 views, however something seems to have changed. My previous video did 60 views, which blew my view count out of the water and I picked up a couple of subscribers. That was nothing though compared to my current video I posted two days ago. So far, this one has gotten 160 views and I picked up 4 new subscribers. So all I can say for the people that are not getting many views, hang in there, follow Nicks advice, and eventually things will pick up.

How do I know if my content sucks? Some of my videos people click away in the first 60 seconds BUT I look at who my video's are suggested to and they have nothing to do with my genre. So I understand why they click away. My video's that did better are being shown MORE to my genre. I am an Automotive channel (Mainly Classic Car content) and when they ACTUALLY suggest my content to an automotive audience then the video does better. Then my next video does bad and sure enough it was suggested to NON AUTOMOTIVE audience. It's like KZbin is suggesting my content after all the wrong videos. Why does it do this? If one video does good why would KZbin then not suggest my next video to the same audience? I have a lot to learn about content creating and being in front of the camera but it is hard to know what I need to work on when the analytics shows YT not properly suggesting my content. Oh and why doesn't YT suggest my content to my subscribers? Analytics shows they only suggest it to less than 10%. I'm so confused. Thanx for all you do Nick. always good info just seems I'm doing a lot of what you and VidIq say and it's helping but I feel like YT Should be suggesting creators' content to those who are watching the category they list.
@NickNimmin
@NickNimmin 2 ай бұрын
I’m making a video about this because it’s a common misunderstanding for new creators. When you see the suggested videos your views are coming from it means the people likely to engage with your content were watching the videos. For example, if you look at the videos to the side or under this video you’ll see that not all of them are KZbin related…at least they shouldn’t be. The system should be showing you other content like this but also other content it thinks you might enjoy. In addition to that, there is the sorting option in suggested videos. It’s clear to see above the suggestions on a computer but if you’re on a mobile scroll down below this video. As you do, you’ll notice sorting “chips” show up under the video. If you click on those you’ll get different things based on what you choose. For example, if I choose “recently uploaded” I get a bunch of content that has nothing to do with KZbin tips. It works this way for everyone so it seems like KZbin is suggesting to the wrong people but really it’s just people sorting and people who are into your content are also watching those videos. Don’t get me wrong, the system is extremely good but I’m sure it misses sometimes. But at scale it’s putting you in front of the right people. The fact that they clicked on your video in the first place, which causes it show up on your stats, shows they were interested in the topic. Hopefully that helps.

Having all the stuff to make a great video is awesome, but we need to be willing to take stock on why some of our videos don't actually connect and what we can learn from that to improve on the next video. If the audience isn't connecting, then something about the title, thumbnail and content is off the mark.

The quote "if you want to grow as a creator and as a creative".... everyone needs to understand there is a MASSIVE difference between being a creator / artist and building a business on KZbin. The two are 180 degrees apart and the term "creator" is incredibly misleading. KZbin is nothing more than finding a "creative" way to present information using visuals, hooks, change-ups, etc while being as engaging a personality as possible without being what you aren't. Figure out the system that Nick Nimmin is telling us - what KZbin tells us to work within - and you will eventually get the views, the #s. It is a system of information. Do it in as broadly societally applicable topic as possible as to not limit your audience and it will strike. But is that what you want to do? If you don't want to do that and actually be an artist, a "creator" that wants to film a certain way, to share niched-in education and minutiae of your niche and share cadence and art... then social media is simply a place to reach people, engage and hopefully connect in a way that they feel connected to what you are about and support that - and that means likely going off channel no matter the platform in order to get their contact information, lead list, and building a tangible business. Social is only a starting point. The right 1000 views on a video that brings people to engage and believe in you and what you are about is always far more valuable that 500K views that do not. Working your ass off for 50 bucks a video from KZbin in a niche market severely misses the point and de-values what you are, what you offer. The system beyond KZbin that sees it as one of several available social platforms to reach people that will either buy the information you are offering or that will support who you are... that's where the business is and where you'll find self-value.

the real secret is "THERE IS NO SECRETS" its just about how you do it and if you heart is in it , you will do well on youtube if you want to truly do well, as you won't give up till you see the fruits of your labour , if you give up you never truly wanted it you just wanted the money.

Let's say there are a handful of content creators who've followed your steps. And then mentioning to break the rules. How do you go up against channels who BUY their numbers (subscribers & views)?
@NickNimmin

Those channels don’t last because they don’t learn how to get real people to respond on KZbin. So, they blow a bunch of money for no reward because they can’t be bothered to actually learn how to do it.

I've been making KZbin videos for about a month. My "breakthrough" video was one of the worst videos I ever made. It's getting more views than all my other videos combined but PEOPLE HATE IT. It's getting more dislikes than likes. But I'm studying the video to see what got attention about it. Maybe next time around people will actually like the video.

@crookedchicken

KZbin basically kicked my channel in the ass and stifled the growth. For the last few months I saw amazing growth in my channel and I had gotten into YPP and then suddenly I was demonetized after a month for "reused content". I haven't changed the way I've done my videos and now my channel growth has come to a screeching hault.
@NickNimmin
@NickNimmin 3 ай бұрын
They have recently re-written their advice on reused content in an effort to make it clearer to understand so channels can mitigate the risk of getting demonetized with using third party content. Certainly a challenge when covering TV shows. support.google.com/youtube/community-guide/271248162/faq-reused-content-youtube%E2%80%99s-partner-program?hl=en#:~:text=A%3A%20%E2%80%9CReused%20content%E2%80%9D%20is,or%20educational%20or%20entertainment%20value. The other thing to keep in mind when covering TV shows, is that some shows will grab more interest than others. For you, I can see The Walking Dead has done better for you. People may be coming for that show and are less interested in content about other shows. It's a common issue for channels that cover TV shows.

Then don’t quit. KZbin comes with a learning curve. Embrace that and focus on learning how to be a content creator by continuing to publish videos, see how people respond and then modify things based on the response.

You were exactly who I was trying to reach with this video so I could explain what you really have to do. Any video you watch on KZbin that claims to have a hack or secret that you click on is not going to have a hack or secret, they don’t exist. That’s the whole point of this video. The difference in mine is I shared what you actually need to do and focus on instead of misleading you into thinking all of this easy and that there are shortcuts.
