i wouldnt worry too much about exact calorie counting. its not effective for maintaining fitness and health. instead keep track of the individual macromolecules youre consuming. you want a majority of protein and fat, so eat a lot of chicken and eggs. and enough sugar to make your brain work, so around 35-40g is plenty. then you just want to minimize unneeded carb consumption. so maybe skip out on that mac and cheese for some southwestern chili and eggs, or whatever. point is, dont count calories, make calories count.

If you're eating balanced and clean, that's the only way to eat, by cooking yourself tbh, even in Europe. You just have to train yourself into having a habit of cooking daily and eating fresh food daily, if you constantly can't find the time to do that, you need to FIND time for it, one way or another, cooking for yourself is just another habit that we have to learn, eating on the go is a habit, get rid of it and add a healthier one. :P You'll feel amazing. OH and most important, get rid of sugar, sugar is literal devil drug, so bad (normal daily dose of sugar comes naturally from naturally developed sugars in your food, we don't need ANY extra)

That pecentage of "unaccounted for" calories in most cases can easily be explained by imperfect portion sizes. Especially in the burrito where everything is basically "scooped" by hand.
@Johans4446 жыл бұрын
In that case roughly 50% of the meals whould be below the stated calorie count.
@NatashaEstrada6 жыл бұрын
A lot of these calorie counts come from entering the ingredients in a special dietitian software which draws off the USDA database for those raw inputs. It's very easy to input the wrong type of ingredient because there are so many different variables. Smaller companies are possibly more likely to have incorrect counts because they may hire someone with less experience. Same thing for vegan type products since the inputs might not be in the system.

The scoops aren't by hand. They're by tools meant to give you similar portions.

If you read the laws it actually states that calories are allowed to be up to 20% higher than calories posted. That not only goes for fast food, but packaged food at the grocery store as well. That is why when you go on a calorie restrictive diet, they tell most people to eat around 1200 calories, because in reality you think you are eating 1200 calories, but you are probably eating more like 1700 calories.

The silver lining is, it doesn't really matter if labels lie. If you are used to tracking calories and your weight, then you have a pretty good idea on how much calories per day you can maintain your weight. If the foods you eat regularly underreport calories that would just mean that both your intake and expenditure are higher, but that doesn't matter, since you are still going to maintain weight if they are matched.

@peterr62058 жыл бұрын
I think Casey lives healthier than the average human. He runs and exercises a lot. He eats a mixed diet. Sure, he eats candy a lot, but if you run a lot, that's ok. Better to run 20km everyday and eat an oreo or two, than not eat the oreos, and also not run. Moderation is key, not elimination. No one wants to live in a bacon/burger/pizza/candy/cookie-free world. If you exercise a lot, and you only eat a bit, there's NO reason you cannot enjoy those things and still be very healthy. People who think that it's unhealthy to eat that stuff tend to be the least healthy in my experience.
