Well done mate, Thanks for answering the questions that every frugal buyer, like me has wondered. Curious, can you investigate "once-used" or "second-chance" refurbished golf balls available at big-box stores? I read a rumor that they were actually re-coated, re-branded and re-stamped from various, cheaper stock and not actually the original models.

Hi SABjork. I’ll try to do some filming of that in future! I have heard of the respirated rumour too but not sure if it’s true! My own personal experience of Mint/Grade AAA golf balls when I first started playing was positive but that’s subjective and with no data to back that up! So I’ll try to get round to it at some point! Thanks for watching and subscribing! As a small channel I really do appreciate everyone who likes my channel enough to give it a follow! Thank you! 👍🏼

Hi Allyby58! Well said! I 100% agree! And I hope that my video was fair and didn’t come across snobby as I certainly didn’t want that to be the case! Like I say at the end, we should praise Slazenger for making a product that is affordable, durable and capable of delivering some ok performance! Equally I’m a massive fan of the Mint/Grade AAA recycled balls too for this reason! Thanks for a great comment! 👍🏼

Just found your channel and subscribed. I love the ball testing and comparisons. Also the fact that you test not just premium balls, but a variety of price points. You and I have similar swing speeds, so I suspect that my results would be similar. I saw your video on the Bridgestone Tour B RX and RXS. I’d love to see the two other premium Bridgestone Balls. I did a Ballnamic ball fitting last year and it fit me into the Tour B X, despite the swing speed marketing for faster swing players. Just curious on what results you’d get. Great channel, looking forward to more of your content.

Hi Mike! Thanks for watching and for your kind words about the channel! I’ve had the Tour B X and XS ready to test for a while but just not got to them yet! Sadly my day job means I only get to make one video a week at the moment! But I promise I’ll get to them ASAP as I love Bridgestone golf balls so I’m also really keen to see, if like you, they could offer me something positive! Every time I go back to the Bridgestone I fall back in love with it! 👍🏼

If you lose a lot of golf balls then you only care about price and not performance, but if you want good performance at a low price the Costco golf ball is a good choice. Would like to see more reviews like this.

Hi Steve! Totally agree! Let’s praise a manufacturer for making a cheaper product that opens golf up to more people especially those who lose them a lot like you say! I plan on doing more budget friendly balls over the winter so you should see a lot more land in the next 2-3 months! 👍🏼

I was chatting with a guy on FB some time ago who only used PRO V1's because his club pro told him that was the best ball....I asked him what he normally shot 125 he said ...I suggested he tried lake balls ...he said his pro told him that lake balls were no good as they are inconsistent and he would never improve....incidentley he said he usually bought a dozen each time he played...??? as he lost them....I said have thought about changing your pro for advice....
@weekendtourpro3 ай бұрын
Haha that pro is onto a winner! I use the Pro V1 for benchmarking in most of my videos, because I think people trust it as the best ball in golf… I personally don’t play it because my handicap would suggest I lose too many of them and I actually find golf balls £10 a dozen cheaper to perform better for me in my testing! Thanks for watching and sharing a fun anecdote! 👍🏼

the slaz v300 is still cheaper than the trufeel perhaps that will fair better, I save on ball cost by going out with a blacklight on an evening couple of hours and about 100 balls found about 90% in good condition last time got myself a dozen pro v 1 for nothing happy days.

@@weekendtourpro I'm sure it's relatable to most golfers really. If you do try the slazenger v300 soft it's also worth picking up a pack of the srixon marathon soft which are exclusive to sports direct. Good video Luke. Great conclusion segment, especially about the used ball market providing better options. Not sure if you can get Maxfli balls in your part of the world, but in the States Softfli and Straightfli can be had for $55 if you buy a 48 pack. Great price and probably much better than the Slazengers. I've played them and find them consistently straight and long, great for beginners or anyone who loses a lot of balls, or anyone who likes to save money. I like the Trufeel as well, it's a cut above the 2 piece Maxfli's spin wise and only $25/dozen.

Hi Petro! Thanks for watching again and for another BRILLIANT comment! I struggle to find Maxfli unless I buy in bulk and import them at a high cost which makes it tough when I only need a sleeve for a review video! However on paper that price sounds incredible!!! And totally tempting if the performance is anything like you’ve said! I need to get my hands on them at some point and test them! 👍🏼

I found one of these on the course in the summer and gave it a bash. It was horrible, felt dead and went nowhere. The Slazenger V300 Soft is a bit nicer at a similar price point, I got a box of those for Christmas last year and used them a bit in the winter.
@weekendtourpro3 ай бұрын
Hi @crumbleofborg! A few people have said the V300 is better so I’m tempted to repeat the test with that and see what results we get! I certainly don’t think it’s all bad and hopefully the conclusions made that clear! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼

i only play at the range because of work, I guess these would be like the range balls i hit. I went the range last week and temperature was 4c, I really noticed how it reduced the performance of the ball, by like 15% compared to if it was 20c. But that's only me guessing and it would be interesting to know factual information

What’s the point of 2 different standards of consistency when comparing. You dropped out 40% due to inconsistency. That 1 graph is the whole video, cheap balls are inconsistent.
@weekendtourpro3 ай бұрын
Hi Franks4973! Sorry my approach in this video didn’t meet your expectations. I do think I demonstrated and highlighted throughout that the ball was inconsistent throughout the video by the fact I had to remove a large set of data to get any reasonable ‘trend’ out of what the ball is capable of at its ‘best’ and then even still it wasn’t as consistent or strong performing as a full data set with the alternative ball. Thanks for watching the video though and for your comment! I hope you give another one of my videos a go in future! 👍🏼

Funny with your 60, you wanted to hit it 20 yards and you did and it rolled out about the same, so?
@weekendtourpro3 ай бұрын
Hi Wayne! Yep! It’s not all bad and hopefully that came across in the video! I went in with no expectations either way as lots of £25 balls I test have kept up with £40 balls etc. when in my hands as an average golfer. I do tend to find that in the short game test the roll out is quite similar with all golf balls - they just achieve it in different ways… premium balls spin more and grab and stop, cheaper balls go higher and rely on the land angle to stop. For a one off 20 yard shot this means they can look similar but the issue comes when you have to hit a 10 yard shot over a bunker to a short sided pin… the spinnier ball usually comes into its own at that point… but it’s all personal preference of how you value price vs performance so there’s no perfect answer here! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼
@wayneriley73673 ай бұрын
@@weekendtourpro I work at a big chain golf store and people ask for ball recommendations. I rely that there is no answer I can provide. They just have to try them on their own. Since most swings are not even close to good or the repeatability is low, it is difficult to compare any and get numbers. Price may be a start or most people should use 70-80 compression, but I also see young men who swing hard and decent so if they want to spend the money it is their choice. Unless you have quick hand release then urethane maybe be a waste, just play an ionomer ball.
