After the affair was uncovered, not only Alex could have sued the company, but basically every next employee could claim "yeah, I should have gotten that raise/project/promotion, but I didn't, because, you know... I didn't put out". Huge liability. This sh*t is no joke. That being said, Ned was involved in a social media environment that required him to be liked by the public. When you're creating that kind of content, that is part of your job. If you can't do your job, that's on you. I will say that on top of that yes, it's perfectly fine to judge Ned as a person for many a thing, but what really hits the hardest for me is the fact that there are two little kids in the middle of this, who will not see the end of this for a long time. Which is where shows go to die on Network TV. Like just that alone shows that they are suffering business wise & not even bringing into play the emotional aspect here. That is a huge slap down from the Food Network. Their first step out of the YT sphere of entertainment has been basically thrown into the trash. & will likely not be picked back up. I completely agree. I’m one of the only people I see admitting I did like Ned before this whole situation came out (but that was because I fell for his “nice guy/wholesome family guy” act) and I don’t even personally fault him for cheating on his wife because I don’t know the whole story, and unfortunately cheating happens more than people want to admit (half of all marriages end in divorce, and most of them are caused by adultery). Although it’s certainly bad for all the people involved in an affair, it is not and should not be a friable offense. However, the Try Guys did the right and legal thing because it was a workplace violation for an employer to not disclose his relationship with an employee.

Like they literally make us take on the job refresher courses about this exact situation and why it can harm not just the individual but the companies reputation and finances. And expresses in great detail that you can be subject to disciplinary action or termination. From a job in a retail store to a billion dollar cooperation this policy is usually in place. This just shows that most companies covering this don’t care at all about possible sexual harassment in the work place. They seem to all think it’s just cheating and that’s it, when it’s not. He could’ve ruined their entire company because of a sexual harassment suit, and everyone is just focused on how Ned cheated… Just really shows how most companies don’t care about sexual harassment
@LadyScaper2 жыл бұрын
That’s why it so prevalent. This is also why some companies are shocked when they get sued.
@guadalupemontoya18192 жыл бұрын
Even though I think that Alex was in a way better position to speak out against harassment then most employees, it’s seriously screwed up that people try to minimize Ned’s actions. He is responsible for the company, their image, and their workplace environment. He violated all of those by starting a relationship, no matter how consensual. Every move he made in that relationship would affect how the company worked, how Alex would either have an advantage or be at a disadvantage. The reason they haven’t faced huge legal set backs so far is probably due to their quick actions and the trust the rest of the employees have for the remaining Try Guys. Most Try Guys employees at least have some online image and could speak out against them at any point, but most of the worlds workforce does not. Your boss basically controls your entire career. So if your boss makes a move on you, your less likely to respond with a hard NO and even a “consensual kiss” is tainted by the power dynamics. Plus saying it was just a kiss probably disregards the unwanted attention given before you even get to a kiss. And then if that employee does go to HR, a company could find a way to faze them out without straight up firing them, so they won’t have grounds for a lawsuit. The Try Guys trying to do good by their company and employees, to show that the employees should not put up with any harassment, is the only good to come from this whole thing and SNL fudged it up.
@user-ci4qq1om4o2 жыл бұрын
There is no grounds for harassment. What are you even talking about? Dating an employee is not illegal. There is no law against it and it is not sexual harassment. Please google the definition first. Then look into what grounds the employee would have to sue. In this case there is none. Lawsuits regarding this matter stem from discrimination because of this relationship, not the relationship itself. Alex did not experience any discrimination, such as being fired because the relationship ended or was found out, therefore there is no grounds for a lawsuit. Why do people not understand basic laws?
@pinkrose16832 жыл бұрын
