the interconnected support of mythical, smosh, try guys, and dropout is refreshing to hear in relation to an industry as infamously and historically cutthroat as entertainment.

Ned's betrayal was insane. He risked the livelihoods of so many. I can't imagine how it felt for them. I still can't believe people defend him and want him back. he took down his "apology." And to have people make fun of them for handling it maturely was ridiculous.

There are people who want him back? I've been watching them and reading comments consistently after Ned left and I've never seen it, I literally started watching again because he left, i hated him and thought he was insufferable, he made every video worse but I only understood that what i disliked about the videos were his vibes after I've seen the ones without him.

fun fact about the snl sketch they mentioned, someone looked into it and it turns out one of the writers who was a part of it is actually a friend of ned's and went to school with him at yale. so if you were wondering why they went for such a reductive take on the situation and mocked the try guys' response, that's why. edit to correct the name of the school, i mixed up two ivy leagues by mistake!

I'm happy for Keith and Zach, but I HAVE to applaud Zach, he sounds like he matured so much and almost sounds like the boss of the Try Guys. No offense to keith, but Zach was portrayed as the frail one and "childish" for a couple years before The Event. And when The Event happened, Keith did say that Zach stood up and took a huge burden and manage to make everything okay at the end of the day. And now he sounds like a leader. And I'm confident Keith is being just as active in leading the company, but I gotta say, Zach, you're rocking it!!

@melaniefletcher3217
@melaniefletcher3217 4 ай бұрын
I will say they did it so MUCH better than Watcher lmao. Like they made the cast announcement more of the focus, made their streaming service an actual affordable price but not alienating their audience by claiming it’s affordable, AND letting their audience know that they will still post the content on KZbin. Plus their reasonings for a streaming service sound a lot more reasonable than Watcher’s. Watcher didn’t actually discuss why KZbin isn’t a hospitable environment for their content. the try guys explained it AND expressed their frustration for their audience having to watch so many ads before they get to the video and such. I respect the way the Try Guys did this cause Watcher’s announcement was a literal train wreck 💀 granted the Try Guys probably learned a lot from that wreck so
@Bisexualdragon4042
@Bisexualdragon4042 4 ай бұрын
The biggest difference is that this was planned for over a year, and they actually talked with their audience. From the video at the start of the year with a six month plan to them always posting when they couldn't upload. And they did a great job announcing it. While the watcher announcement was as random as everyone suddenly growing a third eye overnight.
@aleks-33
@aleks-33 4 ай бұрын
@@melaniefletcher3217 all their notes are from a year before so I don't think they "learned" anything, they just did it right from the start. Someone on reddit had the theory that Watcher heard about the Try Guys doing it and ran to do this and release their platform before them and that thats why the Watcher announcement was so sloppy, the platform barely works, has no app, they didn't have show announcements except for the new worth it, etc. I'm much more inclined to believe Watcher copied Try Guys rather than Try Guys changing course on ANYTHING weeks before releasing their announcement that had been in plan for a year.

The way that Ned put not only his own family, but his friends and employees in jeopardy is so telling of his character and values. Can I just say it is so impressive how the Second Try streaming transition has been marketed and presented by the Try team. Within a few days they released the announcement video, then Eugene’s goodbye, then their own podcast going more in detail on the change and now also an interview about it on another big channel. And throughout it all the message has been the same- this is a positive change, we will be on KZbin still but because of advertisers and The Algorithm KZbin is not a feasible streaming service for our company anymore. With just the announcement video I was thinking cool sure good for you, not sure why you need it when influencers make so much money. But now with these additional videos I really understand why it’s really hard to run a long term successful company with KZbin as the main content platform and I am fully supportive of them. And saying we’re now treating KZbin as a marketing platform like instagram as opposed to a content host platform is such a good take. Plus packaging it with announcing a massive official cast expansion- such a smart PR move. Pair the scary change with a fun change, and it really sells how their streaming platform will actually be “bigger and better” than the old Try Guys. Obviously hindsight is 20/20 but I’m sure the Watcher team is realllll jealous they didn’t slow down and really figure out how to present essentially what will become the same thing…

KZbin should do what they do with streamers they want to attract. If they want to keep certain content creators then they should pay them for a certain amount of output on youtube. They won’t, because the brainrot stuff that keeps people watching for long times makes youtube so much money.
@bluester7177
@bluester7177 4 ай бұрын
I dont think it will be everyone, it will peobably just be the content creators who actually have companies to run like mythical, dropout, critical roll, 2nd try and maybe with time they will all consolidate to one service like Nebula. Most other creators are doing things mostly alone and paying one to 2 people max.
@bamblerz
@bamblerz 4 ай бұрын
Simple solution would be for the top ten KZbinrs of specific generes to create their own platforms so people have more of the content they like in one place for one price. For example the past buzzfeed crew on one. The cinnamontoastken, pewdiepie, moist critical, jacksepticeye type on another. Etc

I appreciate that the channels moving into the space of having their own streaming platforms are also still uploading to youtube. While it sucks to "miss out" on content behind a paywall, it makes 100% sense to break away from youtube/amazon/google/etc because those platforms take HUGE percentages of the revenue. And with the algorithm and ad space being the way they are, it's very touch and go. I wish them the best!

Now that they have their own platform, it seems like a good move since they can control what type of content and creative work to show. Their amazing different type of shows on yt is cool but we want to see more and yt demonetizing or not showing up on ppls recommended makes their hard work become unnoticed. Having a focused platform where ppl expect to see the shows will help have more eyes on them. More eyes means more ad deals

I think in this case the Try Guys made it clear that they've massively expanded their cast, they're doing loads of new shows and new content with new people... PLUS they're not leaving KZbin. Eugene was and will always be my favorite try guy...however...being a fan from the buzzfeed days Ned's departure (While I could never have predicted it would end that way) and Eugene's departure always felt inevitable and like the proverbial carrot dangling on a string...it always felt like it was coming you just never knew how or when (the how in Ned's case, Eugene you knew the how/why not the when)...Zach and Keith's personalities and career direction has always felt on sync with eachother...it just works...and mesh's so well... Eugene and Ned felt like they were there for the ride until they could achieve what they truly were meant to achieve (if that makes sense)...so while it's bittersweet to see Eugene go it truly has always felt inevitable and I cant wait to read his novels and watch his directorial debut...it has been so amazing to see where Zach and Keith have taken the 2nd Try and their brand and continue to be a channel I love to watch...I love the people they are bringing along for the next chapter of their journey...Im aware change is hard and things dont last forever, so with that in mind Im happy to help support them for however long this part is :)

so proud of these guys. knowing that they took the time and care to talk to sam about dropout is awesome, and it makes a lot of sense considering how much especially zach has talked about his love for dropout.
