I just got mine. They shipped it in the same box as yours by freight. It took a couple big hits and I have to get a new top and doors. They’re sending me replacements. Careless packing on the part of Salamander. Guess what? If anyone ever wants to put in those back panels, you have to take off the top by unscrewing the screws underneath. Once you have the top off, you then have to remove the top rail. Then you can slide in the panels. Reverse the process to reassemble. Have a set of imperial measurement hex wrenches handy. It’s up there with Ikea furniture as far as assembly.

This was an excellent video that gave me information I wanted as I'm considering Salamander. I too am having an issue with the depth of the cabinet as my Yamaha integrated amp with cabling is way too deep for most everything. I was surprised yours was assembled, but I'd think that the larger ones wouldn't be. Their website and sellers don't provide much info, and I didn't realize the back panels were plastic. Yes they are expensive, and the one I'm considering is $2,500 without any accessories. Unfortunately some of the commenters are not only rude but just plain stupid. There are a wide variety of styles available but they can't be bothered to investigate. Some are traumatized by the doors, and if they looked they would find that some don't have them. Saying it looks old fashioned is narrow minded, as many people like a more retro look. I really like yours but that model isn't right for my situation. I really appreciate the time you took to make this video as it is very helpful.

Thanks for your kind words. I like that they have so many different designs to fit various preferences and needs. They aren’t inexpensive but good furniture is typically more expensive. I haven’t had any issues with mine.

Looks like you got a Denon AVR (nice choice) however Denon advise 6 inches space above free for air flow which you don't seem to have. You can read the specs. For airflow requirements for their AVR's on their website

Thanks for the advice! I haven’t been overly concerned about ventilation because I’m using the Denon for processing and my monolith amp for amplification so the chassis should be much cooler. Admittedly I haven’t documented the temperature using the built in amps versus not, so I could be reducing the system life long term. 😏 Or I could just use the Denon recommendation per your suggestion and move on. 😀

@@HomeTheaterHobbyist yes you're right, over the long term the excess heat build up will reduce the life span of the electronics and sadly lead to an expensive bill 😞 having searched the far corners of the internet for AV furniture shops that sell a suitable cabinet for a Denon AV receiver that at least matches Denon's requirements as specified on their website, I came to the conclusion I need to build one myself which I did as there surprisingly nothing at all suitable!

Finding a tv stand has been the biggest headache for me yours I think would work perfectly for me but that is just way to damn expensive for me and I paid 900 for my current one I have to have my avr and amp on top of the tv stand
@HomeTheaterHobbyist

I understand, my previous stand was ~$300 (maybe less) so it's easier to justify the upgrade since I didn't spend that much initially. But in the future definitely consider it.

Couldn’t agree with you more in finding a stand being a huge headache. Would you mind posting which stand you went with? I’m in the market for one and everything either doesn’t fit my setup or is way too expensive.
