A mission like this, you really get the sense of powerlessness. The 'enemies' do practically no damage and you can easily wipe them out. But you're bound to the narrative arc, unable to do anything but what you're ordered to do by the admiral and the Autarch, and what you're compelled to do by the script. Most other missions in the game are no less linear, and you know you're just moving form one story beat to another. But you're the hero, and the reasoning behind the choices the game makes for you make in-universe sense from the perspective of the righteous good guy, so they're easier to go along with. But here, I don't know if it was intentional, or just convenient, but the linear narrative restrictions really make you feel Neth Parr's powerlessness in her complicity to genocide.

14:20 ; It appears by the 2400s, Starfleet's time travel ventures have become widely known across these quadrants. I find it somewhat comedic that if it was anyone else but the UFP with such abilities, the reaction would be met more with terror rather than indifference. 14:40 ; _"You know they probably say the same thing about us right, right? ..."_ That joke works both in and out of universe.

Ohh some really cool shots in the intro - really love the shot of Armiger under the Farpoint Cnidarian. __ "More Federation Time Travel Nonsese" From the tone and phasing it sounds like the Tzenkethi have run into the results of Federation Time Travel shenanagans a good number of times. No wonder time travel has gone from ok for research to outright banned by the 32nd century.

I have found these missions where one plays as a different character to be quite intriguing story-wise. My only issue is why can't the main weapons on my main flagship do that much damage as these mission-specific ships even after max upgrades. Also I am indeed curious as to how your playstyle will be with the Jem'hadar character. _"Victory is Life!"_
@TheAgent00603 жыл бұрын
I wondered the same thing Especially how they crit so often. I copied the exact loadout but it was found lacking the punch and crit ability. Frustrating
@Ashendal3 жыл бұрын
The enemies in this mission are much lower level so even basic weapons scaled to your level will do stupid amounts of damage. There's also the chance they simply gave the ship passive crit chance to make sure you constantly crit.

What a minute, did I miss something? Was it never resolved why the stranded starfleet crewmen were associated with the collection of the eggs? I thought it were them whom started the egg collecting. Feels very much like a loose end, or a red herring.
@Janoha173 жыл бұрын
The Lore Blogs Tales of K-13 explain what happened with the crew of K-13. Most of the crew and the Klingon prisoners went into stasis, while the remaining crew settled on Draconis, where they made contact with the locals after driving off another group of aliens who had invaded. The crew lived the rest of their lives on the planet, much like what happened to the survivors of the Enterprise C. (And after the crew was awoken from stasis, the Klingons used the station's remaining shuttle to stop an asteroid collision, which coincided with a Klingon Promotion to keep the captain from trying to take over K-13. Starfleet then sent Captain Ezri Dax to help smooth things over with the Klingons, since she has both the memories of Curzon and Jadzia, and is a counselor.)

@@sproge2142 The Draconians worshiped the crystals, and the invaders used pieces of crystal as a power source while having the Draconians mine them. Those are the only mentions of the crystals/eggs. @@Janoha17 awesome, that's exactly what I was wondering, so the collection predates starfleet. There's nothing about starfleet helping collect them or anything? When I saw the pictures of the starfleet men collecting then I was sure it was going to end up being that the crystals could help them get back to their time or something like that. Thank yuu very much!

Incredible video. I wonder, have you ever heard of the KZbin channel, Spacedock. It's a really interesting youtube channel that creates ship breakdowns for, not only ships from Star Trek, but ships from other sci-fi franchises as well. The names of the manager's are Daniels and Alistar, and I think you would like them. Maybe, you should go and talk to them. I think they would be more than happy to do a collaboration video with you. With luck, both your channel and theirs will benefit.

I've been waiting for this one, I've never played this episode. I've skipped it on all of my alts, when I first started it and realized I was about to play pretend doing a genocide and it was entirely on rails where I couldn't target the Tzenkethi instead or just timer out without participating I was all: abort mission, not gonna. So this will be my first time seeing this particular part of the story, I'll just sit here and watch you get forced to do a genocide as a funtime entertainment, find out the story bits, and still not have to personally participate in atrocity for pretend. Snoogans.
