Years ago I had four or five of the IR Crimson Trace lasers brand new in the box for the HK45c/Mk24. Of course I sold them all off like a fool. Now even the visible version is tough to find

I was going to post a comment regarding the IR Crimson Trace unit that yours is lacking but you addressed it towards the end. I like your version of the Mk24! I run a Mk23 with the KAC suppressor, a poor mans IR LAM (Surefire IR X400) in one of those LBT holsters you mentioned. Under NODs with a wet can, it's scary! Pitch black, quiet night, interrupted by .230gr chunks making that distinctive slap as they hit whatever your aiming at.

Looking at the proof marks on your slide (and frame) -- you have a German made 45C from 2018. Not very common -- most of the 45C's around are US made and marked (with German barrels) -- How did you get it? Being a German made / assembled gun might account for a difference in trigger pull -- yours may be slightly smoother (or more crisp) than the US made/ assembled guns. Mine had the atrocious trigger another fellow commented on. -- One factor is that the 45C has a different (heavier) hammer spring from all other HK's -- It is not interchangeable with USP compact 45 hammer spring -- I think they threw it in to slow down slide velocity - further reduce recoil but it makes the trigger pull more mush and heavy.

Every video I watch on the HK45CT doesn't make a big deal about how terrible the trigger is in both DA and SA. I bought a factory new (not conversion, if that matters) HK45CT years ago. Yes, it has a BD date code, and thus the infamous 'false reset' trigger issue, but even outside of that, the trigger is just atrocious.

I really have nothing to compare it to, it seemed to be quite a bit creepier than my friends Beretta 92 but oh well. Yeah, primarily when I shoot this it is from single action only.
@SwagPKVids
@SwagPKVids 2 жыл бұрын
The 'false reset' is due to an out of spec trigger bar long since fixed. Call HK CS tell them what's up and they'll get you a new one.

Yeah, HK's triggers out of the box do leave a lot to be desired. My 45c's trigger was pretty bad (I bought mine used but only had maybe 100rds or less through it before me). It was heavier than others I've shot, gritty feeling, and sloppy. But after 700rds or so. It got a lot smoother and crisper feeling. Still sloppy compared to others though. I'm going to convert it to Light LEM soon. Which will make it even better. On a similar note though. If you think the 45c trigger is bad. The P30 is a lot worse lol HK's striker isn't that bad though. Was a nice leap in improvement over their hammer options. But not super amazing. I prefer hammer though.

From a functional perspective, I far prefer the USP45T. Same durability and accuracy as the mk23 but you aren’t as rounds limited as the hk45 platform. Not to mention better recoil reduction system

I like your setup. it's very nice. I've always been something of an HK fanboy myself, and 45 is one of my favorite cartridges. So, the 45 family of HK products was a no-brainer for me. I was thinking of making a setup like yours as a bump in the night kind of gun. I want the supressor for shots in a house. What are your thoughts?

I did horrible with the fullsize version. I couldn't get used to it but it wasn't mine and shot it for not much rounds probably 200. I couldn't group very well. I will say i think it is softer recoiling but I'd still take my semi custom 1911 over it. The hk45c is very cool looking though. Nice video dude.

@Travers Kilroy Cooper Alvirez yeah semi custom 1911s definitely ruined me. I could never go back to a production 1911. I do like my 9mm glocks still though. I cam shoot those well. Just what i am used to 1911s and glocks.

You really can't beat the fit and finish of a custom 1911, for a production gun, the HK is great. But yeah, a good 1911 is a fantastic handgun

@@gunsnmammons i know those hk45 pistols can have equal accuracy as a 1911. Just the trigger lol. Talking about 1911s do you ever plan on making a video on a custom one? There's clone 1911s lol. I use an LBT holster for my KAC Suppressed Mk23 with Surefire X400 IR. I paid around $400 for it from AutoWeapons. They are old school and you have to mail them a check but they are always nice to deal with. As for the holster, it's probably not worth it. It's just nylon like is mentioned in the video but it's the only thing that will fit a fully decked out Mk23 to my knowledge.

I disagree about one thing...I think EVERYONE should have a suppressed pistol, given that their purpose is to be quiet enough not to damage your hearing. My bedside gun is an FNX45 with a suppressor, so if I have to defend myself in the middle of the night, I won't be deaf when it is all over, or my ears won't be ringing so bad that I don't hear another intruder in my home.

The HK Mark 23 is a far better than this HK45CT V3. And we all know it too… The Mark 24 is cool and all, and I have personally owned one, and love the way the HK45CT looks with elephant foot mags. But it’s no mark 23..The Mark 23 is not too large. Why do people keep saying this. That statement is so worn out. The Mark 23 is literally like 22% longer/large than the HK45CT.. how is that too big?? it’s a weapon system. The mark 23 is far more useable than practically any pistol in a defensive situation. Plus, it’s just pure fun to shoot.
@greyman8174

The MK23 is without a doubt a grail gun. I love them, love shooting them, want to buy one (two actually, one to live in the safe, the other to thrash around). But they're also fucking expensive. But the MK24 is a lot more obtainable & practical. Also, the MK23 IS gigantic. That's a fact, not an opinion. Some folks don't mind it (like you). But that doesn't change the fact that it's fucking huge lol. And as another commented. The MK23 was phased out for that very reason. In fact, it's widely known that it didn't get used as often as other platforms because of this.
