I’ve yet to see one fully recycled battery. So far it’s just grinding them up into a black mass for extraction sometime in the future. At least metal engines can be melted down and recast. If being green is the objective, then not one EV should be on the road till manufacturers show they can recycle the batteries.

nice video but there are more facts, 1: most electricity market consist of 90 coal and gas power plants and some renumbers or 80, so its worse to charge a electric truck than a diesel one. 2 : the road infrastructure because ev trucks weight 2 ore 3 times more it means the road serves is going to last far les then usual so we would have to constantly repave al roads witch means more co2 emitted.

False, Even coal fired plants generate electricity more efficiently than ICE engines produce power. Around the world, more and more electricity is being generated from green sources, so even this argument is going away. Additionally, Electric drivetrains are more efficient, so the amount fuel burned per mile is less when you take the entire cycle into account. A EV light truck may weigh more than it's ICE equivilant but not that much more. The Ford F-150 Ford Lightning has a curb weight of up to 6,500 lbs, according to sources, which compares to the regular F-150's curb weight that ranges from anywhere between 4,021 lbs and 5,014 lbs. This is nowhere near the premium asserted here. Additionally, Heavy trucks account for FAR more damage to roads than light vehicles.

@@seanlaurI thought OP was talking about heavy trucks. Just as the video seems to be talking about heavy trucks even though it depicts no more than 3 or 4 semi's.

Battery power doesn't scale up well. It works well in your toy RC car. Scale up to a golf car and it's still working well to get around a golf course. In a car, you are pushing the limits. But a truck that needs to move around large masses-as well as its batteries, it's beginning to get inefficient. You'll never see battery powered trains or battery powered airplanes.

LOL EVs are new technology. You didn't see (many) electric cars just a few years ago, either. And there's enough interest in electric aircraft that there's a wikipedia page dedicated to them: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_aircraft I remember not so long ago, when you didn't see smart phones, either. And a few years before that, you didn't see cell phones...

@@benjaminsmith9943 Don't forget, cell phones, smart phones, were driven by consumer demand. On the other hand, EV'itis is driven by politics, not the consumer.

The huge weight increase of the battery wears out tires and suspension parts way sooner than an ICE car or truck.

I can appreciate hybrid vehicles and the efficiencies they bring, but I live up in Canada so if you want to sell me an electric vehicle first you have to show me a battery that will keep it's charge in -30C/-22F cold.

You either have to buy 2 electric trucks or buy one diesel truck, but new diesel start out $60,000 ( Fords, Chevy and Dodge are over priced) big rigs idk either way the working man is getting squeezed

Removable batteries might be an older technology but it would solve the charging time issue. Just have to figure out the logistics of getting the battery out and back in fast enough to complete with refueling with gas as well as maintaining a good connection with the battery. Perhaps a smaller permanent battery and a larger removable battery so you can drop move to the pick up spot and get a new battery and go. Smarter people than I would need to figure that one out. I remember when my phones had a removable battery. Instead of plugging it in I would just swap batteries and charge the battery itself. Never had to plug in the phone. I do this now with my vape batteries. Harder with a large vehicle but perhaps someone can figure it out. Though I bet I am over simplifying the issue. And then there is the theft issue. As a removable battery would make it easier to steal.
