Take your layer feed welder and bring it over there and run the argon gas in the tank until that's all that's in there is argon gas leave it running there for about 10 minutes before you start welding to make sure there is no fuses or oxygen in there to ignite the fumes😊

Might I suggest, after you have rinsed out the tank, run air through it to blow out fumes, and cap off filler neck: try connecting a hose from regulator hooked to argon tank and flow argon into the tank, similar to how you would purge and flow argon when building headers . Once you are confident that you have purged oxygen (and gas fumes) from gas tank, you can take a MAP or propane torch and hold the flame near the crack on the outside. If the gas coming from the crack extinguishes the torch, then you no longer have flammable gas inside the tank. If a flame comes from the gas escaping the tank, then keep the argon flowing until that flame extinguishes. As long as the tank has positive pressure of argon flowing outward from the crack, the flame will not travel into the tank and explode. If you don't get a flame, you should be safe to weld. This is a similar technique to how pipe fitter weld live oil lines on construction sites.

The next tank you weld on unless you want to wash it out you don't need to use water to disarm you might say the old fumes. I have found out the best way to repair a leaking tank is to get a vehicle and a piece of stick hose or a radiator hose that fits the tailpipe and the gas fill neck. Put the pipe on the tailpipe and the gas fill and start the engine and let it run until you feel the tank getting hot. The hot exhaust gasses will neutralize the gas vapors and you can take care of business without having to worry about cleaning the water out of the tank. Ask around if you don't believe me, I would never tell anyone something that would get them hurt. I'm curious as to what your truck does.

Anti- roll bar for drag racing is different than anti- sway bar for handling. Anti- roll bar is meant to keep the chassis from twisting as you put enough power down to lift (or unweight) the front end - keeps the torque reaction from unequally loading the chassis and making it drive out of you lane. You are right - very poor for daily driver - but very good for high power drag racing
