Thank you! New player here and fell in love with the game's art style and design, and is dying to try it out. Very concise and helpful guide.

Good luck! I cant emphasize enough how overwhelming it might be at the start, but stick to it and a few games in something will click!! ^^

Just started the game last night and had no idea what I was doing. Despite that, I was having fun with it! As a beginner, should I also play a Striker who can KO enemies well to help clear the way for my teammates? If so, who would be good at that?

A good video overall, it's always good to get a refresher on the basics even with some experience under my belt. Definitely gotta get rid of my bad habit of tending to act as a second goalie when I'm a Juno Forward. A small addendum to the Dubu roll, although it goes beyond the scope of a beginner's guide: I noticed at some point that, for all its delay, if the roll connects, the impact is surprisingly good at disrupting whatever enemies were attempting to do. In a sense, it's like a mini core flip, something that definitely befits a "big guy" archetype.

Saw the Nintendo direct and preordered the game, now I’m coming back after quite some time with no clue how the game works again.

Im struggling with the Moba vs WASD debate. I understand the advantage of WASD, but I'm a 12 year Moba veteran with thousands of hours and a handful of diamond finishes. Also very little experience with WASD. Is this a mountain i really need to climb down from so i can climb the higher one?
@divok232 Жыл бұрын
Not having any WASD experience might hurt I guess. Have you played anything from Skyrim to the Sims? Overcooked to Overwatch? Its a different viewpoint, but everything like that uses WASD and should ease the transition! If its still a no, try a controller! Apparently thats pretty good too. The issue with MOBA controls is that it really restricts aiming, and is very obvious. If I see an enemy moving like they have MOBA controls on, I will constantly play it to their side as the weakpoint.

Whats your take on using a controller vs using wasd m&k? I feel its easier to layer abilities with controller but understand some precision is lost compared to being able to just aim with the mouse

I played 100 hours on controller, then forced myself to kbm and it's a HUGE difference. Much better with kbm definitely.

What I will never understand in video games. Nowadays is that players actually are not confident enough to play against real people off jump. It’s really not that hard and it actually makes you better. Everybody nowadays needs to quit being scared and thinking that if you lose a game it’s the worst thing in the world just play and have fun.
@ItsYou-ker Жыл бұрын
Fear ruins most games. not exactly the same as your comment since it's not players and a completely different genre but when I was little (around maybe 8ish) I played monster hunter world but never progressed far bc I was scared of dying even tho there wasn't any loss of stuff. I always had to ask my brothers for help. One day it kinda clicked and I went from being scared to just rushing in with a great sword and trying to dodge everything, took awhile but I got there eventually. Needless to say games are much more fun from then on

Yeah true. I started playing competitive right after i unlocked it, of course I did lose a few times in the beginning but I was a rookie so that didn’t matter. I basically learned everything they explained there in those few matches

@@ItsYou-ker you just reminded me people can be born after 2008 holy shit (monster hunter world is an awesome game btw) I played my first monster hunter when i was around 7 and that was monster hunter tri in 2012 where i would also have to ask my older brother for help, funny to see other people had similar experiences

It's tough in competitive, online games. Especially team games, as you can feel like you're not only losing to someone, but dragging your team down as well. A big thing is having someone you know to play against/with. That really helped me get back into fighting games, playing against people who weren't going to flame me for playing like trash. However, end of the day, you're right: you do just have to jump in and try sometimes. And it is just a video game. It's not learning to drive a car, worst case with a video game is you lose and try again.

This isn't a "nowadays" thing. A lot of people don't like to let others down. And learning games with strangers is incredibly stressful. This was true when I learned guilty gear in the arcades. And it is true now.
