I bought a Canon TS9521C a few weeks ago and love it so far. My Canon copier in my office has not given me a single problem in almost 20 years and I've had a Canon printer that lasted for years until I started having issues finding ink cartridges.

That is a KEY consideration for crafters! Being able to print out customized scrapbook paper and papers to use for masks and party hats... Another key consideration is SEPARATE ink tanks for all the colors. Most of us find that we have a particular color we use more frequently, and being able to not waste the other two or three colors of a cartridge is vital.

I'm using it primarily for 110 lb. cardstock, but will eventually move into other creations. I am so confused about which printer will be cost effective yet able to print beautiful quality cards and print and cut creations.

I'm in the same boat! I can't believe the prices (Canada). It needs to be able to handle cardstock/sticker paper, but the family needs it also for DUPLEX printing, scanning. The refills have to be cheaper (less than $20/color) and it would be ideal to be able to continue printing with just black, even if one color is out. HELP!

I don't understand why ya'll would not really educate and tell people that they really only need to look for a printer that prints good quality graphics and that prints on cardstock (as the cardstock will allow for most every other material cricut would allow us to use for p/c). Specific printers are not necessarily available as of this past year because of demand of so many people buying them for virtual/home schooling, new home offices, and more crafters. So many brands out there are just fine also, as long as they have the 2 characteristics I mentioned. This past year when I had to replace my 6 year old Epson, I shopped 5 stores that has NOTHING in stock!

Yeah, the issue is Covid. Most of them were under $150 but with everything going on craft supplies and things like that have really went up unfortunately. Hopefully prices will go down!

I believe those are Epson brand and they are known for great image quality and as long as the specific model you are looking for can handle cardstock it will be fine! The ecotank printers do cost more to start with as they are set up with that NEW ecotank technology.

I would imagine the ink size would be larger, but it may just be a higher quality of ink :) And no ma'am, not really because you can convert most printers into sublimation printers so that's easier :)

@@MakersGonnaLearn as an fyi, I have only seen videos of people converting Epson printers for sublimation. I don't know if this is just by chance or if it is because the Epson cartridge can be re-used, cleaned and filled with the sublimation ink. The cartridges I know can be re-used!

Are you able to share any details about the cardstock weight each printer will handle? I would like to be able to print and cut on 110# cardstock and my current printer jams on anything much more than 65#. Thx in advance for the info!!

110 lb cardstock will be tough for most printers as it is so very thick! I feel that is one reason Cricut only sells an 80lb cardstock. From what I have seen in buying printers over the last 30+ years of my life including for a school and a few offices I worked in, the specs for printers only incl a yes for cardstock or a no.

I agree with Jill. The thickest these printers will tolerate without giving us issues is about 100 pounds. 85 is best :)

I have found that when buying ink for my printer to buy the off brand ink from Walmart or target (targets is the best)last ALOT LONG and is alot brighter.. to me when I buy canon ink brand it does not last long at all.. A small point but I thought they'd be a USB cable included to help with the set up but there was none. I've been using it now for a few weeks and it seems like a good product and superior to my previous printers which were all troublesome HP machines.
