Thank you sew much for giving us the formula to determine the size of fabric to use ! I was having trouble in figuring the size I needed, until I stumbled into your video.. never knew how easy it was until I saw your video! Thanks again ❤

I've been stitching for many years but still enjoy watching your videos for those new to cross stitch. You never know when you might learn something new. I was wondering if you would do or have done a video on how to arrange and stitch multiple small patterns all together on one piece of fabric. Especially on properly measuring to have the correct size fabric. Even with my years of experience, I have never tackled this challenge and now would like to try. I hesitate, though. Perhaps you would be able to help. Thank you Susan Weber from Texas

Hi Susan, thank you so much for watching 💕 when I plan out my fabric to cut for different size projects, I use an Excel spreadsheet (could be also on a graph paper). I just colour the blocks of the different size designs with different colours and puzzle them together like that. Could that help perhaps? 😊 Happy stitching 🌸

This was really helpful - thanks - I never knew it was so easy to calculate my own fabric size! And I think I always use the same sized needle too!

Thank you for watching - so glad you found it useful! ☺️ Different needle sizes literally changed my stitching life - I would definitely recommend to try different sizes if you try higher counts, stitching gets so much easier then 😊 Happy stitching 🌸 Marie

Morning to you and how are you today , my question is do you have a video on how to stitch on the fabrics like some of the linens cause in looking at the weave its very small and do you need something to aid you in seeing where to stitch.

Loved your video and learned so much, especially measuring how much fabric to use. I’m half way on Mirabilia cross-stitch mermaid and realized that I cut the fabric too short. I have maybe 1/2 inch all around, which means I won’t be able to frame. What can I do now? Help.
@CaterpillarCrossStitch2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching - this is a bit of pickle indeed! Once you've finished stitching, you could stitch the fabric onto a larger piece of fabric (making sure they're perfectly stretched before you stitch them together) and therefore the framer could stretch the bottom piece of fabric and frame. Worst case scenario, you could pin it on a board and attach to a backing to display/hang instead of having it framed but I would think that as long as the 1/2 inch is there, you can join it with a piece of backing fabric and still have it stretched into a frame. I would make extra sure you protect the edges to make sure it doesn't fray and therefore doesn't get smaller - the best thing would be to run a blanket stitch around the edges as I find it to be the gentlest method of serging fabric, easy to remove and leaves little trace. I'm sure it will all turn out fine and you will have a beautiful Mirabilia to display in your home 💕 Happy stitching 🌸 Marie

Hi for letting us see your wonderful work in cross stitching. As a Montessori Mother and Grandmother I taught my oldest daughter to cross stitch and when she showed her art teacher what I gave her the whole class was invited to do this . I learned this art from watching PBS station on TV in my area. The information I have seen you give I didn't understand to know but will tell my daughter and son to use for he also was taught to use this art and enjoyed it very much.. My question is where did you buy you frames for your work on the back shelf and what size frames do you have , do you have the patterns for the works you have ?

Thank you for excellent tutorial! Do you know how I can tell apart my needle sizes in my cases? Your advise is appreciated.
@CaterpillarCrossStitch2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching Rosemary ☺️ I’m afraid that the only way to tell your needles apart is to reference them against others. So for example take a 24 size needle and check whether there’s a same sized one in your bunch of needles. Hope this helps at least a bit! Happy stitching 🌸 Marie

What if you’re just following an image? I got a very nice gift with personalized patterns but it was just a pixel image and materials so there’s no stitch count.

what if i cut my aida cloth too small and i’ve already started the project? how can i fix it? 😢
@francesnoora Жыл бұрын
like it’s not a project i will sell, it’s a gift so could i add another stripe of cloth and stitch over both to “join” them? is it doable? the piece is full coverage
