One thing I learned over the years is leverage, so if you are bending the bar and rowing it down to your chest to then press it back up, and you use your hamstrings and late to pull yourself down into the deadlift, Doctor Stefi Cohen pointed out that you can use your hip flexors to pull yourself down into a squat, vs fighting gravity, and have more stability because you have more muscle activation, now paired with something interesting that I picked up from watching Ben Patrick is using the tibialis muscles and the hip flexors to pull yourself down into a squat gives you a lot more stability from the toes up to the hands

I experienced steady lower body development and improvement by doing slow motion squats with lower weight as opposed to explosive movements. By increasing Time Under Load at lower weight, more muscle fibers are being active and stimulated for future growth.

Matt, you are not getting the point that Ben Patrick isn't trying to get people to develop big legs with his movements, he is trying to get them to develop resilient tendons ligaments as well as the VMO which is one of the four muscles that make up the quadriceps Plus, Ben is a basketball player and he doesn't need that much size if it's going to affect his sport. It's the same thing when you think of a bar star versus a calisthenics athlete the bar star doesn't want leg mess because it's going to force them to train harder and get stronger and all they want to do is maintain what they already can do

It’d be awesome for Mark to set up a podcast with the two of them, I really like both of them, but it’s sad how close minded Matt can be at times. Super nice dude whenever I’ve messaged him, and I do get why he doesn’t like listening to new trainers because so many come and go, but like Nsima said, they’d probably agree on more than he might think.

Pretty cool compilation Smelly. I was wondering about the glute ham raise and how IMO it might work more muscle than a barbell squat. GHR- Glue hams and hips and calves Barbell squat glute quads and hips So a GHR is better IMO of course loading a barbell allows for more variety in the resistance than a GHR
