Awesome room, congrats to them for the hard work put in. FINALLY someone who goes by golden ratios to get the sound right, acoustics always starts with room dimensions then goes to the treatment after that. Well done, great room. Only improvement would be the projector, those blacks looked very dismal, a theater of this magnitude needs a Christie griffin, or better yet the eclipse 😍, I did read the current projector is just temporary though.

Thank you Rob. I spent pretty much all day there before I left for Houston so I didnt have to really worry about rushing. I was able to take my time and get all the shots I wanted. It was fun. The Chicago Home Theater scene is no joke!

Great theater but bar area behind row 2 is obstructing the surround back speakers? Also those horizontal LED lights will reflect from the screen and I noticed the door was throwing a massive reflection as well. Vertical LED accents can be sunk a bit into the wall as to not reflect light when off and the door could easily be treated with fabric.
@hatoraidcowboy28 күн бұрын
I only filmed the with the lights on for the video. We turned them off during casual viewing lol And the door was only open during a few shots of filming which was intentional. Everyone has their own tastes and preferences with design. This is just a showroom to show you what’s possible
@hatoraidcowboy28 күн бұрын
We also sat in the second row during demo clips and the sound was not obstructed. There’s 32 speakers in there. Great separation.
@mrlinde651828 күн бұрын
@@hatoraidcowboy good to hear, it does appear very close to the bar area. I'd still be a little worried about reflections from that large surface right behind the main seating area. Don't get me wrong it's a great theater but I would have done those mentioned things differently.
@mrlinde651828 күн бұрын
@@hatoraidcowboy even when off, the LED plastic coating would reflect and be shiny as is the door. I would prefer the door fabric covered and the LED vertically and sunk in enough that they would not receive reflected light from the screen. It might not bother everyone, but it's something I prioritized in my own theater. To not have reflecting surfaces in my FOV. Behind the FOV it wouldnt cause issues. The horizontal lines look very good though, but even with the light off I would expect them to be quite noticeable.
@VIPHomeTheaters28 күн бұрын
@@mrlinde6518 The bar was created to show an alternate seating space for the media rooms. I would not recommend it in a dedicated theater. However the speakers behind the bar are 6 feet away and at height allowing front rows to use them. The only speakers directly behind the wall are 2 woofers. At 80hz the wall is not obstructing them at all. Keep in mind this is a showroom and we are showing available options. So far no one has complained about light reflecting of any millwork surfaces. All were painted with flat finish Italian polyurethane. The led's are always dimmed during showings and can be also turned off.

The production value of this presentation is impressive. I can't say the design finish of that grand room is very impressive, a waste of seating space; no doubt it sounds great, though. The daughter is cringeworthy, so I'd make my appointment with daddy. I'm more of a movie palace kind of guy - or perhaps a modern home Imax setup.

Well it sure looks good...wow! Not sure how the first 3 rows can hear much of the rear speakers being block by the desk/table in the back row though? 🤷♀

Is this the Digital Projection Satellite Modular Laser System (MLS) with pure RGB, which can be configured in modules of light output with 4K and 8K options or the fixed design Insight 8K RB laser phosphor projector? The conversion between ISO and ANSI lumens is also a bit confusing so the brightness calculation is unclear. A future Barco upgrade does allow upgrade option to DCI compliance in projection to like a Freya + or Nerthus with full REC 2020 to allow digital cinema packages to be played via a Bel Air Cinema subscription at the same date and time of features currently screening in theatres or early movie premieres in private screening settings.
@hatoraidcowboy29 күн бұрын
Not sure on that VIP theaters can answer that question better than me, but I do know they will be adding a Barco in the near future.
@VIPHomeTheaters28 күн бұрын
We have a temporary projector in place. It is a 3 chip 1.38" DLP Laser projector with 12,000 Lumens Permanent one will be Barco Freya + or Nerthus as you have mentioned. Since the whole setup is based on Trinnov Altitude 32 we need their support of DCI content.

Bruh!! This isn't home theater, this is simply.. Theater! You can tell how well the theater is treated by the quiet ambience in his mic. Those "inwall" speakers Giga-mini really look larger than most full towers. Anything is inwall with a big enough room! No shade.. just respect to the flex. What a dream!
@hatoraidcowboy29 күн бұрын
Yea this is basically a mini commercial theater. I would rather go watch movies at their showroom than AMC or Regal or whomever. They did an excellent job!
@LeeLee-fi7mx29 күн бұрын
That 30 inch subwoofer driver looks exactly like the Powersoft mforce 30 inch driver. I think those drivers are designed more to be like a PA type of subwoofer for music and not necessarily ideal for infrasonic home theater bass. But I'm sure when matched with a big enough enclosure, it can do a good job for infrasonics.
@hatoraidcowboy29 күн бұрын
I’ve never heard of powersoft before. The room sounded incredible though!
@VIPHomeTheaters28 күн бұрын
You are correct, we are using the newest version of the Powersoft m-force and m-drive the enclosure was made by us and is fairly complex, hybrid transmission line/ported We had to limit the output to maximum 10% of the power in order to use it in our setup. The raw power of it is hard to imagine - brute force.
