I think it's pretty much impossible to NOT fanboy for KyoAni. Imo they've always been the gold standard when it comes to animation quality, consistency, and even workplace culture and project timeframes. They're truly an exception in the industry and the extra time, love, and care they put into each of their projects is always apparent in the end result. After all, you don't get something as polished and gorgeous as Violet Evergarden from minimum wage freelancers struggling to meet crunch deadlines.

Hyouka is honestly one of, if not my favorite piece of media just in general. Everything about it just oozes passion, heart, and soul, and the entire package the show comes in is just phenomenally gripping to me on such a deep level. There are videos out there of the directing staff in the studio with the composer for the anime's soundtrack, and it still puts the stupidest smile on my face seeing all of them smile as they put the music with the scene it's a part of. I honestly don't have enough good things to say about the show. I'm also of the opinion it doesn't need a season 2, but that's just me. 🤐 Rest in peace to the head director. I hope he knew how impactful his work was to people like me.

Everything about KyoAni represents everything great and amazing about anime imo. Their resilience after the arson attack, hitting the ground running with classic after classic, their non-toxic work culture and schedules in contrast to every anime studio that doesn't rhyme with Bufotable, the emotional power of every one their stories, to the fact that they host a contest for writers to create their stories into anime (as seen with Violet Evergarden). You could write the story of KyoAni into a movie and everyone would call it out for being unrealistic for how much of a miracle it is. I love this studio and their work so much

Same, not falling for any of the tear-jerking scene consisting of Fuko “disappearance”, Akio speech about parenting, Nagisa death, Tomoya reminded of the good times with his father, Tomoya telling Ushio she doesn’t have to hold in her tears anymore, Tomoya breaking down during flashbacks of Nagisa, Ushio death, Nagisa and Ushio brought back to life, or not even Palm of a Tiny Hand…etc, clearly, this man has no soul 😤

As someone who up until a year ago had only watched like 3 anime shows (dragon ball series, Tenchi Muyou, Yuyu Hakusho) I can definitely say I appreciate these lists. I've been on a binge and a lot of these shows were on my to-do list so getting the homie's opinion helps me decide which ones I should get around to first.

Wow, Kyoto Animations really have so many good series under their name, some of which I had forgotten were made by them. My personal favorite is Haruhi suzumiya. From the visuals, to the characters, humor, and of course the op and endings.

Kyoani is simply the greatest anime studio of all time, both in material produced and in how they run as a company. Ethical fair-paying transparent feminist(this is quite a big deal in Japan), creates an environment of people truly happy doing what they do, and you can see it with virtually every episode they’ve put out. I am also very fortunate to still have not seen a fair bit of their series, so when things are not going well there is always peak media to make me happy around the corner

YESSS MKDM PEAK!!! LETS GOOO! But fr, that show was the very reason I got into anime and made me fall in love with the medium. That and Violet Evergarden restored my faith in humanity with a beautiful story and wonderful world building. Both stories deserve S-tier for how wonderfully made and skilled they are. Yes, Dragon Maid has some issues, but I don't care. It means so much to me and I'll never forget it as long as I live, same with violet evergarden. Also, unrelated, but Koe no Katachi is peak as well (the manga is slightly better). My comment is very fanboy like but It's facts.
