Haruhi Suzumiya and Chuunibyou definitely deserved way higher spots, both were very unique slice of lives, one following an over extrovert (probably autistic) girl and the other an introverted disillusioned girl. They are definately s tier when compared to most of the other slice of life animes

Haruhi Suzumiya is considered one of the most ground breaking animes of all time due to its narrative structure that influenced so many other mangas and movies, it doesn't seem like that today because so many other animes have copied its structure but when it first came out there was nothing like it. It was THE ANIME that put Kyoto Ani on the map. The sequel movie "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya" still remains Kyoto Ani's finest work to this day.

Yeah same for me hyouka is one of my favorite anime of all time because it's my ideal highschool life and the character design was just the greatest i have watched it 4 times and i never get bored I'm happy to hear someone with the same taste as me Edit: i also want a dedicated video why hyouka is your favorite anime of all time because i know for sure you can still rambling about the thing you love about hyouka (because i do have some)

Nice! Kyo ani is also my favorite studio for the same reasons though also because I like the emotional drama genre of animes the most (yes drama is a genre the most notable animes being Angel Beats, Anohana, Toradora, Your Lie in April, Koe no Katachi, Kimi no na wa and Clannad just to name a few). Most tend to over rate the action and shounen animes in comparison. Such an under rated studio!

Nevermind the fact that the OST slaps and the visuals are jaw-dropping. Nevermind the fact that KyoAni didn't just excellently adapt, but *improved* upon the source material. Nevermind the fact that it's become a standard for animation excellence. Violet Evergarden never once fell back on shitty anime tropes to entertain its audience and for that it has my utmost respect.

Oh man lots to un pack My s tier will always be clannad, haruhi , lucky and k-on Clannad has exceptional writing and some of the best lighting work and animation I've ever seen ( 60 fps illusionary world hair is insane) Haruhi is probably the first anime I've seen that Is fully post modern, non traditional narrative, a multi layer plot that always serves three narratives at once ( sci fi, meta comedy and sol club) and one of the finest films ever made for its sequel. I probably wouldn't love this show If I wasn't 31 and jaded with entertainment, it goes against every traditional convention of what we think entertainment should be Lucky star I love for the same reason as harhui, incredibly meta comedy that works better the more media ( specifically anime of 00s) you've consumed. The crisp animation and incredible character writing with its insane sub text make it one of the best shows I've seen K-on Is imo naoko yamadas best work, the first season is good but the second season uses some god tier directing and character writing to tell an amazing coming of age story, it's got surprising emotional depth and azusa is a brilliant viewer character parallel, the show is a love letter to 70s cinema with its directing and has some of the most gorgeous animation I've seen in any show. I'm a die hard k-on fan as it's the first anime that got me into the directing side of it and got me into naoko yamda. I fkin love this show it gets sold as a cute nothing anime but it's an example of live action 70s directing at its finest. Master piece. I can see why people don't like tamako market. I personally love it, but I see it as a directing piece for naoko yamada, it explores alot of the directing you go on to see in hibike, silent voice, liz and the blue bird. It's incredibly aimless but as a fan of film it's got amazing directing. Hyouka I need to rewatch but I agree, it's dense, loaded with subtext and beautiful, it's an easy s tier Check out kanon, it's by the same visual novel creator of clannad and kyo ani captures winter like no other show I've seen.
