The game of Basketball has been my passion since I was 5 years old. I grew up as a kid watching my dad's recorded VHS tapes of playoff games through the 70s and 80s, and collected all the Basketball cards. Something about the game and what it represents just hooked me from a very young age.
My love for the game only continues to grow as time goes on. I love studying and analyzing the game, with an unbiased perspective. Feel free to subscribe, follow me on social media, and celebrate this amazing game and it's rich history with me!
I post videos every week on NBA history, predictions, hypothetical scenarios and current NBA topics.

One thing about LeBron going to Boston you failed to mention when comparing it to KD move was their ages so it wouldn't have lasted because KG was 34 Allen was 35 and Pierce was 33 so a prime LeBron joining an OLD Boston team would have been a bad move for his career
@trevorwinn5012
@trevorwinn5012 9 ай бұрын
They were 1 win away from the Finals in 2012 and I think they beat OKC if they had got there , so you add LeBron to that team and they dominate 2011 and 2012 at least , Rondo was at the peak of his prime from 2011-2013 that in itself would be a deadly duo with LeBron , Ainge would've been able to surround those 2 with a great roster once the big 3 were gone , I mean it didn't take Boston very long to get good again after the Big 3 and Rondo left
@Tonio5100
@Tonio5100 9 ай бұрын
@@trevorwinn5012 Boston got good again because they traded those dudes to the Nets for those draft picks if LeBron goes there those dudes would probably retire in Boston PLUS LeBron and Rondo as a 1-2 punch isn't a great fit because both heavily needs the ball to be successful..... IMO Boston would have been a terrible choice
@trevorwinn5012
@trevorwinn5012 9 ай бұрын
@@Tonio5100 Yeah your right about the picks but Rondo and LeBron worked well in LA but Rondo wasn't the #2 guy like he would've been in Boston , even without the picks from the Nets I think Brad Stevens and Ainge would've built a great roster around Bron , and I think Boston would have won the chip in 2011 and 2012 maybe even 2013
@Tonio5100

@@trevorwinn5012 Oh I agree they would have won a few but once it was over he would have probably bounced and went to another team..... Thats why I think he chose to form in Miami with much younger guys to give themselves more time because they saw how short that Boston run actually was they formed in 08 and by 2012 they was pretty much done

@@trevorwinn5012 I agree with you i think bron couldve actually won more if he went there given they already went to the finals twice and as you mentioned was 1 game away again in 2012. Y'know as a Lakers fan I was a LeBron hater for a long time. It started with his obnoxious stans already claiming him as the best player ever as early as 06(middle school kids are dumb) and with The Decision, his flopping and the memes it was easy to hate him. Then he came to the Lakers and I got to watch him every game on TV or via the radio with Mychal Thompson and John Ireland instead of once in a blue moon and it really drove home how special of a player he is. He won a championship here, hes fought the injury bug to try and win more here and over time I've grown to appreciate his game. Hes never going to be my favorite, that will probably always be Kobe, but I don't hate him and after watching him come back from the foot injury that any other player today would not come back to play through I watched that game 4 performance of him playing all but 3 seconds of the entire game to try and will us to a win and how can I doubt his heart after that? I sure as shit can't, nothing but respect and the league will be lesser when he inevitably retires in the next couple years.

True. LeBron has been a "ring or bust" ever since he took the 07 cavs to the finals. Expectation rose when he joined Miami. In fairness, the pressure fans and haters put on to his shoulders was because of his decision making. If he didn't had an overly dramatic spectacle on his 2010 free agency, the hate would've been far less, especially when he proclaimed the "not 1 not 2" statement which aggravated his situation, on top of having wade and bosh as his team mates. His off the court statements and gimmicks made him unlikeable, especially to older fans, which is why more expectations had been placed on his plate than any other player in NBA history. This is coming from a LeBron fan, but for me, he's still the closest thing to threaten MJ's reign as the GOAT of basketball

Lebron played fine against those pistons, however, those pistons didn't have Larry Brown's coaching or Ben Wallace's defense. Also, like other modern players, he doesn't have to deal with illegal defense rules, he benefits from flagrant foul ruling (which started about 1990), and the 3 sec def rule. Other players in the goat conversation didn't have the benefit of playing with modern rules favoring offense.
@susanlee594
@susanlee594 9 ай бұрын
In my opinion, no player should be knocked for playing in their era, for instance, the plumbers and firemen argument is stupid as well as the argument that modern players are soft. Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain are great examples of this, they are all time great players with incredible defense, Wilt had all time scoring ability, both were all time great rebounders, Wilt was one of the best playmaking big in NBA history and Bill won 11 rings. Are we going to say that LeBron should be knocked for not having to deal with the rules of the past? Jonny himself posted a video about how basketball got less rough and physical over time, is every legend outside of the 60s supposed to be knocked for playing in a less physical era? Also, the Pistons didn'þ have Ben Wallace but LeBron's costar was an old birdman who averaged 10 PPG, on top of this, knocking him for beating a team that was miles better than his own because they aren't what they were a few years ago is just wrong. Is there an asterisk for the Thunder beating the Spurs because they weren't the same dynasty as 2014?
@econarticles

@@susanlee594 Lebron's carry job was an impressive feat, albeit in a fairly weak conference. I'm not saying that the defense should go back to being super rough. I think that the current rule set allows modern players to put up numbers that are a bit inflated.

That's a big reason why people don't hate on Bron as much is the fact that Miami had to overcome adversity and humiliation, Everyone got what they wanted when LeBron choked and was totally humiliated in the Finals , then he comes back next year wins league MVP then in the ECF down 3-2 and facing even worse humiliation he goes out and has the best game of his career , in 2013 they overcame a lot to beat the Spurs as well , GS however didn't overcome anything lol , and when they were facing adversity in 2018 against Houston in the WCF they get bailed out by CP3 going down and he was the best player on the floor in games 4 and 5
@johng4099

Golden State already won a ring & made the Finals twice before Durant went there. Durant's move to GS was incredibly weak due to that but Lebron's Miami move to join with Wade & Bosh was pretty weak too & shouldn't be excused. That Miami team was orchestrated to make the Finals every year at least & it's why those Miami rings barely even do anything for Lebron's legacy. His elite longevity, Cavs title & 4 MVPs is why he's an all time great. The difference between Lebron & MJ is that MJ was far & away the greatest on his team for all 6 of his rings without switching teams constantly. He also 3-peated twice. 3 out of 4 of Lebron's rings are super team rings as well as the fact him & AD were equals for that 2020 championship regardless of what the media says.

@@johng4099 Jordan's the GOAT period but to say those Miami rings don't mean anything is ludicrous , like I said after being totally humiliated in 2011 did LeBron fold and never win ? No he came back winning league MVP , then facing the ultimate humiliation in the 2012 ECF he goes out and has the best game of his career , then he was clearly the best on the floor in the Finals winning Finals MVP, By 2013 Wade was no where near 2009-2010 Wade , go watch the 2013 playoff run and you'll see LeBron was by far the best player on the team and the battles against Indiana and the Spurs made that ring well earned, game 7 of the Finals LeBron put up 37-12-7 and hit the series clincher in Kawhis grill with 23 sec left , ring well earned

The babe Ruth Jim brown points are thought provoking as well but when you consider the distance between his total stats and other greats and if you play basketball assists are harder to get than points while scoring at an elite level especially. Having to run offense and get yours at the same time is insanely more cerebral and difficult way to approach the game so imo considering how effective bron has been at doing this is what’s not talked about in this debate mvps and all defense are subjective awards and you can argue pippen was more of the generational defensive prototype on that team idk bro

1. What other superteams came before the Heat that weren't drafted by the organization? The Lakers drafted Magic and traded for an old Kareem. The Celtics drafted Bird & Mchale, the Lakers also traded for old Wilt & Jerry West. The Celtics traded for old Garnett, old Ray Allen and old Paul Pierce. Lakers traded for a young teenage Kobe. Great teams yes, but 3 of the top 5 best players in the league all in their prime colluding to join the same team? Na that never happened before the Heat, idc if you define it as player arranged or not the move ruined competitiveness in the league for the rest of the 2010s. Also Lebron didn't win 7 rings like he bragged about, LeChoke. 2. Lebron beating the 73-9 Golden State Warriors is not the greatest comeback ever. Firstly just to get to the finals in the eastern conference that year was incredibly easy. Then the Warriors should've never been in the finals if OKC didn't choke the WCF. Lastly they had an injured Steph Curry playing that statistically and visually was not at his 100% and they were therefore not the same regular season team that they were in the playoffs. Kyrie was the one scoring the last second shots, Kyrie was outperforming Curry, and Kyrie was putting up stat lines similar to Lebron. 3. Losing to the Dallas Mavs had to be one of the biggest underdog stories in NBA history. A STACKED superteam with Lebron, Wade and Bosh in their primes losing to Dirk, Kidd and Jason Terry? Lebron choking and being only 6th in scoring between both teams in the finals? If it wasn't for Wade carrying them it would've been a 4-0 sweep. 4. The Celtics didn't want another SF when they just signed Pierce...Lebron wanted to play with Wade because he was literally the 3rd best player in the league. Lebron was 2nd, and of course Kobe was 1st. Lebron joined Miami with Wade with vocal intentions to beat Kobe and the Lakers because they had just won back-to-back championships beating the Celtics. 5. Do we really count longevity as a positive when you're sitting out every other game, playing limited minutes, zero defense and only looking for easy layups/dunks when you play?

Which is 4th all time. Second in most points scored in the finals series, 1,562. He’s played 270 games most in playoff history with the highest usage rate ever @32.1% He’s never missed a playoff game. In games when he can close out a series he’s 38-10 that’s 79 percent. the highest in nba history. He ranks 11th in total blocks in the history of the NBA Playoffs, with 270 He ranks 3rd in NBA Playoffs history in three-pointers made, with 460 only behind the best shooters of all time, splash bros. He is the all-time leader in steals with 471, 76 more than second-placed Scottie Pippen. He ranks second with 28 triple-doubles in the playoffs. All-time leader in triple-doubles in the NBA Finals, He’s got the most game wins in the NBA Playoffs, with 182 In 20 years he’s only missed 4 playoffs. Never Only lost once in the 1st round in 16 years. Jordan has 3. Only player to come back down 3-1 in the finals. NBA leading scorer in total points and counting. With a 4-6 record in 7 of thoses finals his team was the underdogs with the finals odds favoring his opponents, he also has the biggest odds gap in finals history with -2000 to the 2017 warriors. So being the best player doesn’t mean you have the best team, lebron has been a contender for years and he’s carried teams to the finals. He’s played better teams in the finals than Jordan. Besides the jazz of 97, 98, lebrons face harder competition in the finals. He’s played two dynasties, spurs and the warriors. Been to the finals without a co star. 2007 not the favorites 2012 not the favorites 2014-2018 not the favorites to win So 2011 2013 2020 was lebron the favorites. Please get passed this narrative, a player can perform well in the playoffs and still lose because teams win chips not just players. Be happy you get to witness 20 years of greatness instead of hating. Because based on the records lebron holds he’s gonna be talked about way after he’s done hoopin.

My definition of superteam is 3 players that were their own team leaders with somewhat success and have the accolades like all star and all nba, they also have the numbers to match them being a top 5 or so player at their position as well. That criteria is what I saw from the 08 Celtics and the 10 heat when the term super team came to be popularized. So with that 80s Celtics and lakers were not super teams the bulls were not super teams the spurs and Shaq and Kobe lakers were also not super teams. The 08 Celtics, 10 heat, KD nets and the suns would be considered super teams imo and any other team that put 3 players together who ran their own team to some success with the accolades and numbers to support their ranking for their position.
