If you haven't already, I would HIGHLY recommend playing Mushroom Kingdom Fusion. It's a fangame in a similar vein to this or Super Mario Brothers Crossover, but everything you could think of is dialed up to 11. In one stage you'll be jumping through the ordinary Mario grasslands, then you take a warp pipe into Metal Slug, and shortly afterward you're battling Dr. Cortex on N. Sanity Island. It is absolutely nutty.

25:53 Hacking levels into old games takes forever, and the work that makes it really "good" requires years of experience. When someone adds a feature for fun, the chance that they are also good at making games is almost zero. I mean, you've already played plenty of hacks with neat ideas and horrible execution. So it looks like some people go for it and fail, and others don't go for it and save some time.. No doubt, there are also a few people who thought they had no skills making levels but ended up discovering that they had amazing skills. But that population is surely very small.
