Level 9-2 at 36:04 is Eversion! Its and indie platformer where the premise is finding secrets to faze between "layers" of the level. Here he starts in layer 4, where the baddies stop moving, but that pipe brings him to layer 2, where its happier but you can still see the wires on the cloud props.

If you haven't already, I would HIGHLY recommend playing Mushroom Kingdom Fusion. It's a fangame in a similar vein to this or Super Mario Brothers Crossover, but everything you could think of is dialed up to 11. In one stage you'll be jumping through the ordinary Mario grasslands, then you take a warp pipe into Metal Slug, and shortly afterward you're battling Dr. Cortex on N. Sanity Island. It is absolutely nutty.

I'm pretty sure this is one of the best rom hacks I've ever seen. The visuals/colors, backgrounds, perfect selection of songs, more lively above ground and more mellow, kinda melancholic songs underground. Other than the "hackish" references to other franchises, this looks very professional to the point of being an actual game that could've been released on the snes. I would've absolutely paid for this back in the day as a full-fledged Mario game.

25:53 Hacking levels into old games takes forever, and the work that makes it really "good" requires years of experience. When someone adds a feature for fun, the chance that they are also good at making games is almost zero. I mean, you've already played plenty of hacks with neat ideas and horrible execution. So it looks like some people go for it and fail, and others don't go for it and save some time.. No doubt, there are also a few people who thought they had no skills making levels but ended up discovering that they had amazing skills. But that population is surely very small.

That Lakitu fall in 4-4 is reminiscent of Super Mario XP, I glad the author of the hack took notice of the fangame's existence and would be cool to see Kosmic playing it one day.

for everyone trying to guess the music in 6-2, it was hidden land from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky

The sound at the beginning of the video is a short clip from the song "What the Heck" from Earthworm Jim.

This hack makes me feel a certain way. Something about the visuals and audio... it invokes a kind of nostalgia I can't quite pinpoint.

9:16 Streets of Rage 2 music. Slow Moon I think. 10:00 Final Fantasy V. Battle on the big bridge. 10:55 Streets of Rage 2 again. Dreamer. 17:55 Final Fantasy VI. Forgot the name. Played on Gogo's cave. 19:05 Final Fantasy V again. Sealed Away (Thank @margibso) 29:26 Castlevania Bloodlines/New Generation. This music plays at the first stage. 35:53 Ragnarok Online. Dancing Christmas in the 13th Month. I struggled to figure out the music, but at this point I recalled where is it from. What? You play your game and I play mine. Beside, the hack creator has a interesting taste for music haha.
