honoured to teach Brett on the horn 📯 I also noticed they cut out a viola joke LOL context for some curious people: this wasn't a regular rehearsal session, they sent the participants in the video an email about rehearsing and recording for a "promotional video". we had a rehearsal a day before the filming and they told us it was a karaoke recording of violin concertos as well as some excerpts. on that day, 26 march, the film crew was setting up and we were just waiting until suddenly twoset walked in lol

Can I just say? I think if Eddy is unmatchable with recognizing pitches, Brett has an excellent sense of rhythm and sightreading skills. I think that's why he played well with the timpani. This is such a fun episode! Hope you'll do it again! 💗 Edit: And omfg, they played all the pieces I was hoping they would play at least once with an orchestra! Brett's Bruch and Saint-Säens and Eddy's Wieniawski 2! 💗 Edit again: Yeah, I figured timpani is kinda easy, but to nail it in your like first try? I think it'll need talent. And not just timpani. Performance-wise based on their other videos, Brett has a really interesting sense of rhythm.

Junior year of high school choir, we were on tour during spring break (back then called "Easter vacation") in Colorado. We made an unscheduled stop at the Air Force Academy chapel and spontaneously decided to sing the Lacrimosa from Mozart's "Requiem" (a capella). We'd always performed in school auditoriums and lots of other places where the acoustics were, umm, less than optimal. In a venue like that, though, it was an experience of a lifetime. Even more than 50 years later, I remember 100-plus kids practically reduced to tears as the final "amen" reverberated through the empty building. It was a magical musical moment.

Playing others' instruments really is a humbling experience. Definitely makes you appreciate the time others' have put into mastering their crafts. As a trumpeter, I remember back to when I could barely produce a sound. I still can't get anything out of the flute though. That thing is metal tube of mystery. Kudos to all the young musicians here making beautiful music and making us all smile. Appreciate all the wonderful time you spend together making awesome music! :)

As a trumpet player, I was glad to see them give a try on wind instruments; it's a great reminder for all musicians that, whatever your specialty, it takes a lot of work even to be passable as a musician on an instrument that is not your own. For example, with wind instruments, as Brett and Eddy illustrated, embouchure and breath control are probably the most important parts of being in the wind section.

I wonder how Eddy's spine is still intact in one piece with all of his weird postures when he's sitting or standing. He tends to bend his body in various directions. It would be amazing if he didn't suffer a massive back pain at all. If he wasn't a violinist, I'm sure he could be a ballerina or a K-pop dancer. His body's as flexible as a cat's. Wow, Brett can play the timpani!!! It's pretty cool! He is so good with the rhythm. Eddy vs flute. He looked like he was dying there. Poor him.
