glad to have frankie back! the only thing that keeps making me sad is the lack of measurments but, tried it today for game day and it tastes amazing. I used about a tsp of butter, the amount of hot sauce needed for how many wings i had, a 1/2 tsp of worcestershire sauce and 1 tsp of white vinegar (bit zingy so 1/2 for that too if you want to play it safe ). my tip for the wings is simply to sprinkle the powder i put a bit much trying to make sure it was ‘coated’.

Alton Brown puts them on a rack above the pan. So it gets airflow all around and doesn't sit in grease.

Made these yesterday and honestly they weren't that bad. Fried wings obviously taste better, but this pandemic has made it a bit rough for my family and my mom didn't want to waste so much oil so we made these. I put just enough baking powder so all the wings were covered all over. I wanna say we had them in the oven for about an hour or so to get them nicely browned. These were a little dry but not overly so (unless served cold--then they're really dry. These have to be eaten warm/reheated on a tray). The chicken was crunchy but kinda bland before putting on the hot sauce, which is where all the flavor is (I guess I hadn't put enough salt). I made the dip as well but wasn't much of a fan, even after adding freshly chopped onion and a little extra garlic it still seemed kind of bland. I'll just buy some blue cheese dressing next time or actual ranch. I'll make these again though! Thank you very much, Frankie :)

I've been doing my own ranch sauce since I saw the Pioneer Woman making it. Just like you, I add yogurt instead of sour cream because I always have plain yogurt at home. So simple, no need to spend a dime on ranch. Ever.

Ranch? Frankie, you're breaking my Buffalo, NY heart here. One tip that I've found, if you have the time, is let the wings sit on a wire rack in the fridge for at least 6 hours and up to 24 after you've dusted them with the baking powder. Skin gets SUPER tight and crispy when you bake them.

Frank, I love the show. Keep on doing what you do. But, and it’s a strange but…. Stay away from sporting food ideas. A Super Bowl Party, cool. Beside that, the man is great 99% of the time. All the best. 👍

What? What? What? Chicken wings are not "affordable." They are the most expensive part of the chicken. Thanks America's Test Chicken ... for baking powder tip .... Finally, a new t-shirt! Love you, Dude .....

I did (just the chicken wings, not the ranch) and it worked for me! I kept it in the oven 5 to 10 minutes longer as well.

I’ve enjoyed this but these prices are weird lol. I know you’re saying the amount used is the price. But that’s not really helpful. Because parsley isn’t 6 cents lol. It’s not expensive but still. I don’t get those prices lol. But besides that I like this guy and enjoy this struggle meals series! Cuz I like cheap food on a budget
@ladywytch1294 жыл бұрын
Lol. It drives me nuts 😂 But it's basically just dividing the total price by the amount used. So while you might buy parsley for $1, if you only use 1/10 of the bunch, the cost for the dish is only 10 cents. You're definitely not going into the store and buying 10 cents worth of parsley!

I hate this segment because that’s not how shopping works.. you can’t purchase .80 cents worth of flour
@FrankieCooks5 жыл бұрын
but you can use .80cents worth - and flour lasts a long time, so if you use all of it before it goes stale, then it is indeed 80cents
