Pyro should not deal dammage. He is a defensive class. You should stay close to your team to spycheck, disrupt enemies and the most important, use airblat to reflect incoming spam. All you should do is stand still and airblast. So the best loadout is stock+scorch shot+homewrecker.

infact pyro shouldnt be able to walk. pyro is malnutritioned unlike the heavy, and so i reccomend valve to give heavy 30%movement switch and smg while giving pyro a wheelchair and a minigun to compensate for its malnutrition caused by being born to a mexican prost

if anyone wants genuine advice, i'd say just experiment with different weapons and see what you like. you're not going to be like Anthid or any other experienced pyro player when you first start out, it takes hundreds of hours of playing the game to reach that level of experience, also each weapon has their own advantages, setbacks, and synergies and its up to you to see what fits your playstyle. do you like burst mobility while still being able to attack at range? detonator. if you want to learn how to detonator jump, i suggest practicing on the map "jump_pyrokinesis" do you like to be able to move large distances? thermal thruster, at the cost of a long-range weapon. do you like flanking and surprising your enemies from behind? backburner. do you like to be able to switch back to your primary very quickly, for combos or airblasting? degreaser. i like to think every weapon pyro has has at least some use, even weapons like the gas passer and manmelter. manmelter is good for countering the scorch shot and the gas passer can make for some funny moments when paired with the neon annihilator, as unwieldy as it is. also if you have a huo-long heater heavy on your team, that might be useful to him. and if you want to get any weapons you dont have, DONT USE THE STEAM MARKETPLACE OR MANN CO. STORE weapons are WAY cheaper on third-party websites like Marketplace . tf i suggest playing other classes too just to get a feel of whats going on in their head, and how their weapons work. if you want a general place to practice movement and combos without the chaos of casual, install "tr_walkway," though casual servers are one of the best places to practice and improve in general also heres some fun facts as a pyro main if you time it right, you can bounce off of enemy players heads with the airblast the scorch shot can be used to perform small hops, though its not as good as the detonator in terms of mobility if you jump on top of an enemy player's head and youre using the phlog, you can try activating your mmmph and when that player moves, it cancels the taunt so you can get a few seconds of free uber/knockback resistance and crits (though this does mean you CANNOT detonator jump while under phlog uber) if you're good enough with airblasting, you can use enemy explosives you reflected to rocket jump your flames are affected by your velocity, if you move fast, flame reach further and heres a list of reflectable projectiles afaik: any soldier rocket, any demoman pill and sticky, dragonsfury fireball, huntsman arrow, rescue ranger projectile, crusaders crossbow bolt, jarate, mad milk, flying guillotine, sentry rockets, sandman/wrap assassin ball, short circuit energy ball, any pyro flare (including manmelter), gas passer

beginning starts fine (was funny), middle with wiki read dragged out for way too long (and not in a good way even if that's the punchline). when the pyro switched to the detonator I didn't really get what you tried to convey. did you laugh at f2p pyros not knowing you can detonate it? did you laugh at youtubers not being as good as sketchek or anthid? most pyros know how to use the flare gun at least, and they have a lot of fun with it. Sure, knowing the depth of his playstyle can add to your variety and fun, but they're having fun too, they just aren't good at the game to show off that's all. What's your problem with the dragon's fury? it's a very fun weapon and pretty powerful if you get practiced with it. I probably got the message wrong, but it feels to me like you're putting your gameplay on a different pedestal than theirs. - -What's so special about using the jetpack, flying to the enemy team, dying, sometimes getting a frag with a nice 'g' press then respawning again with another clip for the clipdump?- - -man it's so cool using the double axe pyro tech, works well on heavy I jump on him double axe, then he turns around and I'm dead but hey that's such a cool tech am I right?- I would take it more nicely if the video were more constructive, show what the class has to offer, don't parody off of meta youtubers' average skill. overall funny video, I like the start more, I missed the point by middle of it. would applaud waffle for the voice imitation.

@@turnip0 I may have not done enough research on what people currently watch. But if the guy who comes to mind is Lazypurple, his videos were never guides to begin with. Why blame him for not covering the entire picture, rather than stating his personal experience (which happens to revolve around the panic attack and the powerjack). His content became mainstream, do you expect people who watch youtube to not try out his playstyle and get used to it? (this includes his homewrecker part as well) More influential than him I think is the Pybro sfm video, was very inspirational for the homerecker thing. Never heard anyone overly praising the homewrecker, maybe people who joke around, or a comp dude lamenting over spies. When it comes to the dragon's fury I think the first* people to get (popular) videos around it are Lister and zesty jesus, after them, youtubers have a trend of making similar content (what works works) so it was a little trend to show the capabilities of the weapon for others to see. These guys just had a good experience with the weapons, nothing about balance. Let's throw in uncle dane, pirateer, fishstickonastick and great blue for fun and popularity. Now I notice your "playstyle" complain may come from Pirateer's videos. Honestly they are basic, helpful and deserver their views. why? think a moment about the age bracked in which the average tf2 youtube watcher falls under, for these people, his videos are very comprehensive, new and exciting. It's hard to find guides for this class and having someone who speaks at your level really makes it easy to understand things. The homewrecker is usually used defensively, so it fits a defensive playstyle. the phlog has an offensive nature, so it fits under the "offensive" category. mobility based weapons mainly help pyro get to positions others don't expect him to be, which is usually a flank position - fits under a "flank" category. Sure people who think a little more and realize their playstyle is dynamic and that certain weapons are good both for offensive\defensive\combo\flank\whatever, may take an issue with that. But as I said, at that age bracket, you better off make things simple, if they don't want to think themselves and find their own playstyle, that's their problem - not yours. Maybe you're just disappointed, that pyro doesn't get enough representation in youtube videos, or that current representation isn't popular enough (Anthid, sketchek, kristianma, slender, grip, pyroham, nebuden, pyroman50, colossal, bluehat, link, wayash - you name it). I too wished that somehow every other pyro main would watch whispy's 1 hour PHD program for flame particles. But pyro is relatively niche, those who actively seek info may find what they want, but most players aren't going out of their way to do that. Most players, surprise surprise - don't even watch tf2 youtube, those f2p pyros who run at you with their shotgun don't have a single idea who lazypurple is or what "combo" playstyle means to them. but I digress. Sure you can shit on youtubers for being youtubers, but it's not their fault that they nor their fanbase get super deep into playing pyro. Pirateer (most popular pyro guide) does aknowledge the flare gun, so you shouldn't get upset over any of them. This isn't really serious, your video was mostly humorous, but behind many jokes there is some intention, which is what I worry about: - that you secretly spite people you don't really know and it *pains you for nothing*.
