This car is the best in the world. End of story. As a fan of Ferrari, I think this will destroy Laferrari and the P1 just like it annihilated the Veyron. Those of you who want to mention the Venom, don't. The agera is clearly an all-around super car not just one made to take down the veyron's top speed record

Yeah, I was talking about the base 5.0L and even with forged pistons I doubt how long that engine would last pushing this kind of power. I recall watching a video somewhere on youtube quite a while ago with an interview with Koenigsegg about what they were doing with the Agera's engine, they were experimenting with pretty revolutionary ideas and even talking about producing camless engines for their cars. I believe the CCR was the last car the use what was essentially a Ford block.

I have to agree with your statement here. Developing an entire new engine platform would be extremely costly. Probably more than a low volume company like Koenigsegg can afford. So it definitely makes sense, and hey, look at how capable engines like the 5.4 in the GT are. They push insane power in those cars. Granted they are beefed up when required, but still...

Probably, he's talking about choosing different gear ratios. Back in the '60s, American cars were had optional close-ratio or wide-ratio gearboxes. Close-ratio was optimized for acceleration, wide-ratio gave good performance but less shifting in town. I would think this is probably what he means.

Song of opening?
@barath454512 жыл бұрын
Agreed, and make sure he tests it going round corners. We already know it's a beast from 0-fast-0. Wanna see its cornering speeds compared with a stock GT-R(just to compare to something) and a Zonda Huayra.
@interista787812 жыл бұрын
He was talking about tuning the different modes. What's a good engine or gearbox setting in race mode or track mode or whatever Koenigsegg calls it is not optimal for city driving, so they tune the engine and gearbox and I assume also throttle, breaks and steering differently for each mode. If you were to run the car in race mode in the city it would probably stall at every traffic light and breaking would be an immediate dead stop by the slightest push of the pedal.
@en_ray12 жыл бұрын
Topgear is a huge supporter of Koenigsegg... The CCX was top of the speed wall for a while and Stig crashed it on the track, which led to the addition of the 'Top Gear Spoiler' on the CCX options list. The show's barely returned to screens, I'm sure if they could fit it into programming soon they would!

he might have meant that "city tuning" would not have as aggressive gear shifts, you'd want a smooth shift during city driving. but for their record they mustve used the best fuel, the most aggressive gear changes and suspension settings and such. technically you can do the same with your own agera but it might not be set up like that when it leaves the factory.
