Thank you for the clear instructions. There are many myths around fixing stick drift on PS4 controllers - examples include holding the reset button for 8 seconds, spin the sticks five times, disconnect bluetooth, etc. - but none of these work. There is no user-accessible calibration for stick drift. Replacing sticks is a lottery because even new sticks can have drift. Adding trimmers like you've done is the only method that works. And with trimmers costing 15c each it's an economical fix too.

I was planning to email you this question, but felt like I’d be a bother. Would it be prudent to put your invention on the board after fully replacing both modules? My thought process is: Brand new modules that have been properly calibrated + your invention = almost guaranteed no stick drift issues ever again for the life of the controller. Thoughts?

By far the best solution I have seen so far. And thr best part about it is that you can always fix it when it drifts again. My only concern is the "unstable drifting" which is usually due to dust accumulating, in whixh case I suggest cleaning the analog stick with one of the many cleaning products out there. This video is indeed great! Thanks!

For the ps4 controllers with the larger battery plastic compartment, not the one shown in this video, you need to cut away the plastic on it. If you don’t it will sit on top of the newly installed pots and the controller can slightly mis-shape when it’s reassembled. This can make the analogue control physically stick in the the direction you move it too. Just happened to me lol

just wondering... since you're adding a resistor in parallel, it's not better to have a 100k potentiometer instead of 50k? Considering that the base controller potentiometer is 10k. I can confirm that the 100k works perfectly. It’s now Dead centre. I also replaced the 2 inner white potentiometer. Before this was all done the PS4 controller was tested with gamepad tester and the dot was all over the place (right analog) also the test circularity % error dropped by 6%. Tested in game and works a treat. Very happy with the results. All thanks to your excellent video. Thank you 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Yes it does alter the "power". You can try to replace it with hall effect analog stick. maybe that is a better option.
