Solid list and a lot of great bottles! Would love a 12 year Very Very Old Fitz Gold Vein. I have one bottle from your list - 2016 Michters 20. Bought it in December, I plan to drink it but haven’t had a life event that warrants popping that bottle yet. Heard amazing things about it so excited to try it when I eventually open it!

That’s amazing! Good for you. I hope it lives up to the hype.

I’m in the exact same boat as Tom Lynch. I think I’m just too inexperienced to offer much deep insight. My one that I continue to look for (to no avail) is Stagg Jr. I just started this whiskey journey late last summer and participated in a bourbon tasting with a friend for charity. The last sample was Stagg Jr. It was like fireworks went off in my mouth. Where my tasting abilities are today are light years from just then. But yet that whiskey still escapes me...lol. Fantastic perspective as always, Drew. Thanks so much!!

Great video and awesome list! Right now my number 1 want is Four Roses LE. Have really been liking Four Roses lately
@arbeckWA3 жыл бұрын
1) William Heaven Hill 12 year. I had the 11 year bottled in bond and at the time it was the best thing I've ever tasted. 2) Four Roses Al Young. I've never had this, or any other Four Roses LE. When I come across a Four Roses Single Barrel Cask Strength, they are usually things I love so I imagine this would follow suit. 3) A Stitzel-Weller Pappy Van Winkle 15 year. I was able to try it once at a restaurant and loved it. I've tasted the modern 15, 20 and Lot B and think the 15 is the best. 4) A 15 year age stated Noah's Mill. I tried this at a weird whiskey festival I happened to run into at a hotel I was staying at once. I was fairly early in my Bourbon journey and this was by far the best thing I'd ever had. Was it really that good? I don't know. How does it compare to the Noah's Mill that is out now that is just ok? Again I don't know. But I'd love to find out. 5) Kentucky Owl Batch 1 Rye. I have the batch 2 and the batch 3 and they are probably both in my top 5 of favorite bottles I own. I've never seen the batch 1 in person and don't expect I ever will. I'd probably pull the trigger on anything less than $300. 6) A National Distillers Old Grand Dad 114. This was my daily for a long time. Old Grand Dad 86 was the first bourbon I bought and enjoyed. I would love to taste what it was like from National Distillers. 7) King of Kentucky. Brown-Forman is probably my current favorite profile. If I'm drink a cheap bottle, it's likely Early Times BiB or Old Forester 100. Old Forester 1920 is probably my current favorite pour when you factor in price/availability/quality. If I'm at a shitty bar, I know I can almost always get a Woodford. Everyone who's ever had this goes nuts for it. The idea of a barrel proof with the Early Times Mashbill is intriguing. I also know I'll never get one.

Of you have not had the chance yet, try one or three of Middleton's Irish whiskey - Very Rare, Barry Crockett, or Dair Gahleic. Best I have enjoyed is the Middleton's Very Rare 2016

Enjoyed the video as always but think it confirmed that I’m still not a collector. I don’t have any specific bottles I want yet just whiskeys I want to try. I’m still at the point where I just a want a 4RSBLE, a Parker’s Heritage, a GTS, a M10 Rye. Any year really.

Dawg if you see a michters 20 at retail there is no chance you wouldn’t buy it, you’d take out a loan if you had to.

That Augusta National bottle is incredible. That’s definitely a unicorn of unicorn bottles. If I could pick any bottle to have on the shelf, I’d probably pick 2012 George T Stagg (Bourbon of the Year in the year that I got married). If I could have any bottle to drink, it’d be a Stitzel-Weller Pappy 20.

Tough list. I still have 1/2 a bottle of FR 125th and an unopened bottle. They were $85 Cad in Ontario when they showed up on the shelf. My favorite Bourbon on any given day. No A.H. Hirsh 16, 19 or Willett single barrels Bourbon/Rye from the early 2000's? A head to head with Booker's Rye vs Red Hook Rye would be a very cool Rye showdown.
