@ 8:30 if only there was another sort of can, very visible, (maybe red paint on it?) that was designed to extiguish fires! I usually only like keeping around the ones that make fires too though so fair play on running to get the camera first.

Joke is funnier if repeated twice, right? Grabbing the camera was the smartest thing. Cameraman never dies.

Rewatched, gave it a good ol' dinger and engaged with the comments. Known well how youtube will tank a video because people don't watch a video, all because you had to reupload it due to their tools being horrible.

Great job! You might want to add some chains or hydrolic piston type things for that heavy ass door that swings down. You know to keep the hinges from wearing out or ripping out over time, as well as giving you a work surface if it is able to lock in place at a horizontal position. Labels for your drawers, not necessarily for you, but for anyone else that might need to grab a tool or put a tool back without having to open up every drawer to figure out where something goes/is. Depending on how rough of terrain you drive around in, you might consider doubling up the foam in the drawers, as to not allow the tools to jump out of place and stay where they belong.
@cranktowncity8 ай бұрын
I do like the piston idea!
@mattylarkspur98588 ай бұрын
i was also thinking labels - write in each foam hole which tool goes there, number each drawer and put that number on every tool that goes in that drawer. and agreed on a doubled foam layer - a complete layer underneath and the cut-up one on top is usually what i've seen
@zenmark428 ай бұрын
when the drawers start to rust is probably also going to be around the time you need new sliders so you can paint them next time and just let time get you a nice surface for painting. it's basically thinking ahead.

I guess the clear coat mostly accomplished darkening the diamond plate for more contrast. I was going to suggest trying dark paint and wiping it off the high spots. Would suggest dark green but I don't know if that would give the industrial look you are after. Maybe old grease black. I like the caged in stones, kind of thing people will remember.

I cut my logo into the doors and put lights into my utility body and within 2 years the doors rusted through from dirt/ salt/ water and 2 years after the bottom of the cabinet rusted through. Now every time I hit a bump sheet metal screws fall onto the road. I don't even want to think of how many flat tires I'm responsible for. I can't open the door anymore to remove them since the latch mechanism rusted too. I put tape over the hole to stop them from falling but that only lasts a shot time. One of these days I need to crawl under there and plasma cut it out and just let everything fall at once.

how delicate are rotary lasers? can a typical one bounce around in that roomy cabinet during daily driving and still work accurately? seems like alot of bouncing around it has to content with a whole years worth of potholes even if it only comes out to play a few times a year.. and it has alot of room to slam around vs in its case its pretty locked in and the case doesnt really bounce around as much

I'd replace the white with something like a dark navy blue or a dark teal blue or teal green. The white is clashing hard with the nice metalwork. For the bed, I'd add something like a long drawer that is the size of the entire bed. I'm thinking of something like how a gurney designed for ambulances works where the under-carriage drops down and locks in place with wheels that would allow you to pull it all the way out. Then you could stack shitloads of crap on it but still have easy access to everything. And take that dent out of the rear bumper! Makes ya look bad! 😁😁 Oh and, most importantly, DON'T BLOW UP! HAHA! 🤣🤣
