I just picked Zbrush up, and I can understand why you guys are such big supporters of the tool, but I found the UI incredibly confusing and difficult to navigate at first, and couldn't figure out how to customize it and make it how I wanted, so this video is a massive help!

I usually have a few other shortcuts in my UI, such as BackfaceMask, to stop your brush strokes from affecting the backface of a thin mesh, Topological, which makes your brush only affect parts of the mesh directly connected to where you click your cursor (good for moving a single tentacle when there's a bunch of tentacles next to eachother), all the lazymouse options to control the smoothness of a stroke, most masking options like hide masked, view mask, grow mask, etc., morph UV so you can check how your uvs are layed out, and this obscure little option in Brush>Smooth Brush Modifiers called Min Connected, which, if you slide to below 3 i think, alows you to smooth out mesh borders.

@@TimV777 The move topo brush I think is essentially the move brush with this topological setting turned on, but you can apply it to other brushes if you want. It's in Brush>Auto Masking. But yeah it would be most useful for the move brush, and I forgot there was even a move topo brush so I guess it depends on whether you prefer to have a topo button or a move topo brush button.

OMG! @FlippedNormals you guys too had the same issue with delete button, thnx god cause it was driving me nuts i though i was the only one not getting something about its inner workings. I ended up removing the delete button from the interface for good, cause for me it was just making ZBrush crush all the time

Good evening gentlemen, it seems like the latest Zbrush 2020 update has broken the UI. I get most of the buttons, however the ones at the bottom and even Double is missing post update. Could you possibly push a screengrab of the UI so that we can add the buttons or republish it???

To the lower left I've added the options for skin maps mid value 50, soft/hard edges as well as some shortcuts for materials - Basic, Flat, SkinShade4, MatCap Gray I think I'll add the Selections instead of SkinShade and Flat since I am not coloring that much

Which also can be useful to speed up workflow is making a shortcut for radial symmetry under the transform tab. For adding faster details like the iris for eyeballs for example if you work on characters, also might be useful for hard surface stuff, but that's not my 'world'. :)

Thank you for the UI guys, it's really helpful. I've been using the exact same features for the most part - but never put them on the shelf myself. Just out of curiosity. I didn't have many issues with accidentally hitting the X key, ever. I remember tho having hit the middle of "the history bar", making my pc freeze and crash, while losing time and work multiple times on projects, until I finally deleted it from the shelf around two years ago, I don't miss the "feature" at all. That's just me?

how do i change the ... that white line dead zone on my sculpting area ? ( the one that allow you to see the model but when you traw there its like if you clickthe background and not the modele)

If only there was a way to enlarge this tiny little x y z and other button subelements in according to button size. They aren't that hard to click with a tablet, but it still possible to misclicks it. I for one misclick it far more often than x button. Especially when you trying to drag out dynamesh dimensions or click it for manual input. I also have a suggestion. If possible it is better to use a keyboard with larger or remappable bottom row keys. I had a lot of great time with an ergonomic keyboard that had alt with four times surface area of other buttons.

Very neat one mine has like very overloaded UI and about simmetry I have the button out just to see if I have it activated or not haha but I never deactivate symmetry by accident, my bigger problem is when I deactivate symmetry and forget to activate it back BTW I will upload screenshot tomorrow now is like 2 am, time for bed

one thing I have always wanted to change and never found the right box is the color of the active subtool in the subtool menu. I always find it hard to see which one is active. Does anyone know if/where the setting is?

Hello guys First off the market place rocks, if you havent checked it out they have something for out everything. I've bought several alphas, brushes, and tutorials. Would you guys ever get someone to do a grooming tutorial series? Theres literally no helpful tutorials on grooming no youtube digital tutors etc. Mainly for like stylized/anime style hair realistic hair is pretty easy, but when it gets stylized it gets difficult.

That may be the case cause for example the thumbnail/silhouete feature is exclusive to 2020.

There's an option in preferances that lets you disable it. Unfortunately it did nothing for me, so I just blocked ZBrush in Windows Firewall settings and it went away.
