I agree with you! I’m also extremely disgusted with Netflix for placing Tiff in a situation where they needed to be with their abuser in the reunion. I suppose it’s possible that they didn’t know about it BUT then to not add any warnings or domestic violence support numbers or anything? It’s vile. I saw a video on TikTok where the content creator pointed out that Netflix used Tiff and Mildred’s photo as the icon/title photo for the show. I understand we have the expectation of messiness and some toxic relationships but profiting off of straight up abuse?! And I think we all know that this situation would have been handled differently if it was a male or masculine person who was the abuser.

the way mildred turns around any situation to point out what the other person did "wrong" so nobody has the time to look at her is driving me insane. my neck hair is up when she speaks the way she speaks to tiff at the reunion. she acted similarly towards aussie btw & as critical as I am towards Aussie's conflict avoidance, I for sure would've left Mildred the same way if I was in Aussie's shoes. I don't need anyone pressuring me into a conversation if I'm not ready in that moment, especially not ones that are just about Mildred pointing the finger at random shit. I'm sorry, but she triggers me & I can't handle it.

Watching it back, especially learning about Aussie's history in an abusive home, I feel bad that we all made light of Aussie leaving. They clearly didn't feel safe with Mildred, and basically got robbed of the experience of this whole thing

Agreed. One of the weird things for me about this show was how unlikable some of the people were. Mal was a star though. Have to say Vanessa looked a lot nicer after having seen this than in earlier episodes - but probably because of how much worse the others came across.

I don't think people realize, Xander and Vanessa both agreed not to do anything physical. Vanessa did and admitted to it but Xander was messing around for weeks and was sly and dishonest about it

I don't know if that's true. Or if it is, there is not video proof (and I don't really trust Vanessa's word, honestly). Also in the first episode before they broke up Vanessa was like "don't be caught off guard if I have feelings for someone else" so she was very clearly not closing herself off to it. I think she was only upset because she didn't ever expect Xander to fall for someone, even though she was clearly looking for that romance/attention herself.

There’s an article on Tudum that has updates since the reunion and Lexi and Rae each gave a different reason for breaking up. Rae said it was because of Lexi’s career change, Lexi said it was because “they” couldn’t work through what Rae did during her trial marriage. My guess is that, kind of like at the dinner with Lexi’s parents, Lexi took fingergate as a sign that Rae would cheat on her again.

I was really surprised by the end tbh. Potential spoilers… I definitely agree that none of them should stay together and I feel bad for Sam. I don’t think she should be with Aussie. Mal deserved better and got out. Sam deserves better and just ended up compromising more. Aussie needs therapy and to work on themselves. I was shocked at some of the proposals… did any of them learn anything? I guess the good thing to come of it was that Xander got clarity.

So, what have we learned from this show? Do not get the keys for the u-haul before doing thee work. Fr fr. Dysfunction is common, & relationships are work, so don't be in a rush before putting in them proper reps. Trust, that therapy is awesome, alone or in pairs. And Netflix needs to do better with pronouns in their LGBTQIA+ content. Also yr reaction is DEF better than the actual show, agreed!

The straights version of the ultimadium was 100xx worse. I think the queer ultimatum felt like most of the contestants were able to do reflecting. Some of that may occurred further after the show. But I think there is so much that they can take away from the experiences. How to set boundaries, discover themselves and their needs and want, how to let their guard down and get closer to someone, etc. I would 100% agree that a therapist would greatly benefit this show.
