To be real I actually get it. I'm not Latina, but my friends and family all have a cadence where we talk over each other (probably because a bunch of us have ADHD lmao). And it can be a problem when someone with a different cadence comes in to try to find a space to chime in if they don't know to just interrupt. I usually end up just piping up for them and going " ___ what were you going to say?". I am better one on one though with shifting that cadence.

I understand, but honestly some people don't consider cutting people off rude. As a partner, I think Mildred could've done better in this moment, but I also think it's important to acknowledge that "manners" is an extremely culturally subjective term.

Mal needs to let Yoly go. She didn't propose to Yoly before coming on the show because, she felt Yoly didn't express how Mal was different and special from her other relationships. Now, Mal is suddenly ready to propose because she's scared of losing Yoly. Fear can't be the guiding force of your decisions. True love comes with a sense of calm and not fear.

Mal gives Mistress vibes, controlling her emotions, caring more about Yoli’s welfare than her own. I wish the show had given more evidence of why Yoli commands so much love from both Mal and Xander. While she holds a key role, we don’t know that much about her. What does she offer her partners to make them offer so much in return?

@LK-rt9cb Yep, that's why I don't understand why everyone is "talking down" on Yoly. Yoly has said how Mal's behavior is a new adjustment as well so she doesn't know how to respond to the way she's behaving NOW. I think it's very selfish of Mal to switch up only so Yoly doesn't move on... because she might go back to her old self again or resent Yoly. I don't dislike neither, they're human, it's very common for people to switch up when they feel like they're losing someone they thought would always be there.

Mal has love to give but their issues stem on intimacy. If Yoly wants to be sexual and Mal can’t reciprocate that’s 100% valid and understandable, but you can’t expect someone to stay if there was intimacy in the beginning, and want them to stay even though it’s no longer there anymore. Mal is lovely and clearly has a lot of love to give, but clearly Yoly is looking for an other form of love that Mal can’t fulfill for her.

The most annoying thing about Tiff and Mildred is that their arguing is WHY Tiff doesn’t think they’re ready. They both have strong personalities, but only one of them is recognizing an actual problem. Mildred is on a timeline and acting like Tiff is just coming up with excuses when she’s not! Mildred doesn’t listen & while Tiff will accept an invitation to a fight, I don’t feel they are the one initiating most of them with Mildred. The fact that Tiff’s time with Sam after the dog fight was chill tells me Tiff is capable of not being combative in a different relationship. All in all, they need to break up 😂

Used to like Lexi, and now I just find her to be an immature, gaslighting bully. (hoping she's grown up a bit since they filmed.) Aussie needs to deep-dive into some serious therapy and Vanessa is just ... yeah, I can't even with her but I *am* exhausted by the others bullying her. And Tiff!!! For Lexi, I just think she’s young. Younger people tend to have a very black-and-white thinking, a lot of times it takes maturing/experiences to see the grey. With that being said, she has no business getting married but neither does Rae. Loving someone who doesn’t know who they are, if they deserve love, etc. can be real frustrating.

Third generation Puerto Rican girl here who also grew up with a very loud Latino family, and Mildred reminds me so much of my grandmother. She’s raised me and been there for me in ways my parents weren’t but just like Mildred, the moment you do something to even SLIGHTLY tick her off, she takes great offense and starts getting very passive aggressive and loud. In the end, it turns into a screaming match and communication just becomes impossible. Their pride and assertiveness just blinds them from admitting any type of fault or taking accountability. I do think there is an issue with communication in Latino families sometimes where yelling and arguing becomes the norm. If y’all remember Giannina from love is blind season 1, she also has this issue and came from a loud Latino family.

Mal and Yoly are an example of two things being true at the same time. The Yoly and Xander interaction may be messy, but let's not act like Mal wasn't trying to run game on Lexi like a p-i-m-p from their first meeting. All the smooth talking, promises and smiling . . . I felt like I was watching an episode of "Pimps Up, Hoes Down." Mal tried to get Lexi into bed as well. Lexi turned Mal down. Lexi flipped the script on the last night, and by then it was too late b/c Mal had enough sense to know hitting it the night before the switch was just dumb. Just like Yoli and Xander were love bombing each other, Mal and Lexi were doing the same thing verbally from their first date. Mal was NOT a model partner, just like Yoly. She admitted that and the things Yoly said when they got back together confirmed it. Yoly was in the traditional wifey role, with a mate expecting her to take care of them; just like Mal was in the traditional role of providing and protecting (her excuse for not getting married).

@S&T’s WoLOL! Exactly. I have been looking at Mal like, "How the fug, we get here?" since the first time she sat down with Alex. At Mal's BIG age of 34-36, they were acting like a mofo who had never been up close to a blond with tig bitties. It was not cute a cute look at all. Over the top promises about taking care of her and everything. If you can't bet on anything else about Yoly, you can take it to the bank that she is exactly who Mal said she was, a woman who falls fast and hard for the person she is with at the time. That is exactly what she did. I am not saying it's right, or her feelings for Xander aren't real, just that it's consistent. That is who she is, and knowing that, they rolled the dice. Problem was, nobody counted on Xander being sleeping giant. Combine Xander's seemingly nice persona, with some skillz in other areas 👀 (we heard Yoly - lol), and Xander is an undercover "They Steal Your Girl." Lol!

I remember the scene from the beginning before the first choice ceremony where Xander told Vanessa that she had a connection with Yoli, and Vanessa freaked out and said she didn't even want to speak to Xander if she chose Yoli for the trial marriage because she was mean to her. Lexi is giving the same treatment to Rae now literally saying I don't care what happened, I care who it happened with. Lexi is punishing Rae big time based on her (Lexi's) personal feelings towards Vanessa. In the beginning I thought Lexi is very assertive and mature for her age, but now I see she is very opinionated and controlling and can be a hardcore bully when someone/something is not according to her expectation, while playing the bigger person. I hope Rae gives herself some alone time to figure out who she is and what she wants without someone telling her.

Well, I'm not sure about which Latina culture Mildred's talking about specifically but what is considered manners and respect ABSOLUTELY changes depending on the culture you're in. And it's easy for to assume it doesn't when you're part of and/or assimilated into the dominant one. Rather than saying "respect has no race" I would say -- "I understand we come from different cultures, but what you're doing is hurting me. As your partner, I'm asking if we can find a solution together where both our needs are getting met."

Yoly and Xander acting it's been 40 days and 40 nights since they saw each other. I mean damn she didn't even miss Mal like that or wasn't that happy to be back with her. Mal wants better for herself, as she should because before she was too chill to me. What's crazy to me is Yoly and Xander are the ones that issued the ultimatums yet they've fallen fast for each other like they've known each other all their lives. I low-key feel like that was a conversation for Xander to have with Mal. Because you have been having all these side convos with the person I came here with but everytime I ask you, you act as though it's really nothing going on. Mal deserved a moment to be like admit you want Yoly in public, out loud, with confidence. Because I am suffering very publicly while y'all play in my face

I think we gotta cut Lexi some slack because it's only been a week or two since the cheating happened. That's a lot to process and it can literally take years to get over your partner's infidelity (according to therapists). So Lexi still being mad at Rae and Vanessa and trying to figure things out and needing lots of reassurance and stuff from Rae is pretty normal. Having to meet Vanessa again must've been terrible but I think she actually did well. Could've been way worse. And yes, of course Lexi would still feel insecure about Rae and wouldn't want her to interact with Vanessa. I personally don't like Rae's and Lexi's interactions very much at this point and I think they won't get past this without couple's therapy. I still think we should have compassion for them, too. Rae doesn't really do a good job at explaining herself or giving Lexi reassurance either, so that makes it extra hard to fix. Rae also claims she apologized and takes accountability but then doesn't want Lexi to express her feelings about the whole thing and can't really do anything to make Lexi feel better. You know what I mean? Imo Rae seems to like the role of the "professional victim" and you can clearly see how all of the cast members feel the same way about her (e.g. having to protect her, viewing Vanessa as the bad guy) except for Vanessa (who's got a lot of narc traits imo, so it's not surprise she doesn't fall for that). Rae also uses self-depricating talk to make Lexi (and others) feel bad for her and use their empathy against them. I do agree with Rae though: When she said her and Vanessa had things in common when it comes to selfishness, she was totally right. It's just shown differently. One person who's kinda arrogant and more openly selfish while the other one is a professional "damsel in distress".

I agree. I've had previous exes pull the victim card like Rae when they did something wrong and it was like the typical "nice guy/girl" trope that they put forward to evade responsibility. Lexi is placing a lot of blame on Rae but really she should have just stopped arguing and realized they aren't a match.

@@martinaj4571 Yeah, it's just so difficult to accept your relationship is dead, isn't it? :/ Especially since Lexi wants to be chosen so bad and also wanted to marry Rae... If you're in that position, I imagine it's even harder to let go. I think it'd be easier if Lexi and Mal had developed a strong bond, so that Lexi could switch partners like Xander (we don't know yet but that's what I hope will happen) or have a rebound. But Mal is clearly still attached to Yoly...

i appreciate how much more respectful you try to be with this show. and i like your delivery a lot. but i dont agree that vanessa's leaning towards polyamory is funny at all. it's real. and i don't agree that mal is in the right asking yoly to make a decision when she isn't ready. i also find it confusing that for vanessa to say she gave xander all the space to be close to yoly is "growth" for you (at first) but then when mal hovers, and pushes yoly (very hard) for a quick decision it's not the opposite of growth. you stand by her. there is a double standard there.

I’ve said before I have suspicions about Xander and Vanessa’s relationship as well as Vanessa consistently making jokes about having 3somes with damn near everyone on the cast. And yes it comes off as a double standard because I’m not painting the relationships with the same brush

Lexis a child and should be an orange flag in-itself she’s giving an ultimatum at 24.. tf? It’s clear she’s threatened by Vanessa, from the start really, and this goes beyond her messing w/Rae. (loudest in the room and that intimidates her).
