@@crazyhass84 Ok, boomer. It's clear you don't understand what he said. Brand new semis, come with 450 hp base. Consumer grade trucks are pumped up only for people like you that think you need all that power to drive to work. The less you require of an engine to move it's load, the longer it'll last. 450 hp semis are nowhere near their limits, yet the engine itself is never blowing itself up due to stress. They're tuned to last, not win races. The same goes for this commercial grade truck.
@ixionn5634 жыл бұрын
@@Terror1Void I was going to mention this as well. Probably would have been a good point to make in the video, the truck's power ratings aren't impressive because it's built to last, not race. It's the same reasoning as to why muscle car and tuner guys have to put forged internals into their built motors just to run their superchargers or turbos, even then they often blow up making that much power. If I owned a large company such as a construction company I rather have trucks that can run for 10 years straight on basic maintenance, rather than overpowered race trucks that have reliability issues left and right. Commercial trucks aren't the optioned out luxury trucks meant to pull the family 5th wheel camper, they're made to get the job done and not break down while doing it. Two different worlds of trucks.

I wish car manufacturers would put bigger fuel tanks in their cars... my car has a freaking 9 gallon fuel tank like wtf! That way people wouldn't need to go to the gas station so often...
@ixionn5634 жыл бұрын
Trouble when it comes to cars (trucks 2500 and larger tend to be excluded) is MPG ratings. Car manufacturers will go to almost any length to reduce the weight of their cars for that extra .1 mpg. If a car was equipped with a larger fuel tank it would be heavier, which unfortunately car manufacturers will avoid at any cost, for crying out loud I've seen manufacturers starting to use plastic engine parts such as valve covers and also interior parts like factory speakers made entirely of plastic. Another thing car companies love to do, especially for their more compact cars and crossovers, is brag about trunk space. One easy way to increase that space is to reduce size of the fuel tank that is often directly under it, many cars no longer come with even the "donut" tiny spare tire anymore, or suicide tire as many call them. Sad thing especially nowadays is cars really aren't built for the consumer anymore, they're made for MPG numbers, emissions ratings and a profit.
@rubenbraekman45154 жыл бұрын
@@ixionn563 True... sadly... thank god my car still has a space saver spare, but I mean put 4 passengers in a car and the mpg will go to shit... doubling the size of my tank wouldn't really change my mpg numbers or at least I think. LOL When it is lowered it nearly gave Andre a heart attack. Good experience educator. ;). IF I had a need and had the $ I would have 100 gallons of fuel on such a vehicle as well. Nice to have the range.

Reliability, Durability, and capabilities, all would skyrocket once you get rid of the emission control equipment. It would be so much more fuel efficient, and responsive. What the EPA has done to these engines is shameful, like putting a choke around it and suffocating it to death. That’s what all those emissions equipment does to them. You can’t take that truck with all it’s fuel capacity and range and do long hauls and hope the DEF injector doesn’t plug up and fail, or the DPF plug up and cause the exhaust system to go to 1500 degrees, possibly catching the whole truck on fire cause the exhaust gases build up from a plugged DPF. The EGR valves will also sieze up and plug up causing engine damage and failure there. And when it’s time to take it in to the dealer to get it all cleaned and repaired it’ll be several thousand dollars to service it. Getting rid of the stuff before all that happens you save a lot of money and headache from it. The emissions junk doesn’t need to be on them to start with just a money hungry greedy Obama’s EPA headache.

Give a real working man 100k for a truck, he would turn up with a used government International truck, and use the rest of the money for a used tacoma, a vacation, and fixing the house I'm just saying, only corporations and rich folks could afford new trucks like these

A 3500 in Canada 🇨🇦 is $100k....A 5500 being $100k is nothing and not shocking anymore.

I mean that things awesome, but you can also get a brand new 20' aluminum rollback for less than $90K which is cooler in my opinion

I love the truck. PROBLEM is 5500. Most insurance companies in Louisiana will not insure a truck above a F-350 or Ram 3500 without it being listed as a commercial truck. I wanted to get an F-450 King Ranch and I was only able to get 1 company out of about a dozen who would insure it as a personal truck and it was USAA but the rate went from 585 for a F350 dually to 2800 for a F450 for 6 months. I tried explaining the truck is not used for commercial use. It is to tow my camper trailer or personal use. My reasons were for the wide track front end and better brakes to be safer. It didn't matter to them and their reason was it's not what YOU are using it for, the problem is what the truck is capable of. Every place else wouldn't even talk to me unless I owned a business and had a tax ID because that the only way they would give a quote and it would be registered as a commercial insured vehicle. Going that route even If I came up with something the rate would have been 3500 every 6months due to the commercial rating. All that just to pull my camper around. The sad part is the tow difference isn't but a few hundred lbs. I wanted to be safer and they wanted to charge me more. OK so Ford is out. I went to Ram with the 4500 Limited with a tow bed similar to this truck in the video and it was the same thing. They wanted tax ID, name of business and wouldn't give me a quote until I produced that. SO what I want to know is how the hell are the retired folks getting a 4500, 5500 or F450 without getting hit with ENORMOUS insurance rates compared to the 1 ton dually that tows almost the same thing??? OH by the way I did bring up that the F450 and F350 were class 3 trucks and the 450 was not a chassis cab. They didn't want to hear it. I have Geico insurance. When I called them they gave me to the underwriting dept. He told me the best thing he could do is for me to buy the f-450 truck first and then they would make a determination on insuring it or not!!! Can you believe that??? Why make a truck that the regular RVer can't get insurance for??

no gray interior; tilt work welder type bed w/2 side boxes & 3" receiver hitch; Needs a 2nd turbo slow as a snail; 2nd alternator battery bank for truck hybrid idle & launch system. Then w/decent added 5th wheel hitch it would b worth buying "new" around/just under $100k Plus rear seat extended 1ft folds down into bed/bench w/60/40 split. U can take out 60% of bench or 40% extra storage or med vs large dog passenger, instead of person.

Meet the $100,000 dollar Ram that is half as capable as an M2, but costs the same and requires MUCH more maintenance! If you are into wasting money on bullshit, then here is the vehicle for you! Don't go out and spend 100 grand on a truck with those 9L engines and better transmissions, when you can have this truck, which will never pull what it is supposedly rated for because Dodge neglected to upgrade the Engine or Transmission from the 3500, which already couldn't haul its rated capacity up a damn hill! So...come on down all you Dodge fanboys to see what this thing can't do, while I drive to my destination in my M2 with the cruise control set, and pass all the maintenance shops along the way!

Has anyone looked at the price of new trucks lately? Have they looked at the state of the economy, and the position so many families are in? Exactly how many people do they think are going to buy these overpriced vehicles? Yes, I know they are popular, but food on the table and paying for the basics comes way ahead of $50,000 to $60,000 for a vehicle that depreciates immediately.

The Off Road Channel is better than these guys. These guys are clearly Fiat biased. Bunch of Keyboard warriors making truck review videos. The Raptor truck review was the nail in the coffin when they complained about getting mud on the door handle.
