I love telling the story of how we met and decided to travel to TBH together, and it may be over told but I think the story really captures the spirit of the PM community. "You play this game, I play this game. Do we need more reasons to drive 9 hours across multiple states to attend a tournament together?"

You absolutely killed it, Wisely. if it wasn't for PM, I would never have found my local smash scene and, by extension, the FGC as a whole. PM probably changed my life, and now the FGC is one of my biggest passions.

This is so sick. I don't play Smash or PM but as a modder for a different fighting game, it's really great to see the lengths people will go to play their favorite game. Modding takes video games and makes it about the people, and it's what I love the most about it.

Super awesome video, Wisely! Literally one of my best tournament performances was at a shadow major at LTC, I think it was called Shipwrecked 2? Maybe it was Shipfaced, I can't recall off the top of my head. But we started the event at 10pm because we had heard Nintendo reps were touring the facility during the day to make sure PM wasn't happening, so we literally just waited until they left to make some setups and start the tourney.

oh hey! 7:00-8:00 that was my hotel room for top 8 lol. it was total luck. I happened to bring my laptop and streaming equipment, and happened to have a decent wifi signal in our room where most people in the hotel had next to 0 connection. Its funny you mention that plup made $260+, because 2nd place made more money. Bobby frizz was playing in GFs, and Darkrain stumbles in kinda drunk. He yells at bobby, telling him he sucks at the game etc etc, trash talk. People tell him to be quiet since we had noise warning from the front desk since it was so late. Someone mentioned this was GFs and to let them focus and darkrain LOSES it. "No way, he can't be in grands, I told him if he made money I would triple his earnings!" Bobby goes on to lose to plup, earning 2nd. Pulp makes 260 or so, and bobby makes over 300 lol. it was so cool to be a part of PM history like this. Thanks Wisely for making this, long live PM/P+. -JELLY

Nintendo hates PM cause they’re incapable of making a better game than it. I remember my Uber casual roommates asking if we could play pm instead of ultimate, cause shocker people like it when you can do fun and cool shit in the game 😂and skill gaps will always be a thing, i bodied them in both games and they still wanted to play the game with the larger skill gap
