The 2stroke engines have more power and vibrations than 4 stroke engines. I wonder why did you said that they make less stress at the bicycle frame, than 4 stroke engines. Also, the deference of the weight between the 2 categories is not so big.

All good points, sorry I should have been more specific. Not the motor it's self, but the mounting solution. I'll explain this better when I do the rebuild video. It has to do with how the 2 stroke's body reinforces the frame by creating a second triangle, as oppose to the 4 stroke's mount, which really only holds the motor to the frame.

I had a Seeutek engine that took a pounding for years and is still going strong to this day!! That engine always felt like it had more torque than some of the others ive had.

I agree. Top speed is my least concern. In my state it's illegal to go over 25 mph on one of these. I'd love to find out when my build is done that it goes 40 mph. But I'm not going to be riding at that speed on the street unless there are no cars around and no cops around. For me performance means being able to go 20 miles in a single go (or with a short cooldown rest halfway through) and being able to make it up hills easily, safety and reliability and durability. For me too, speed is my least concern.

I'd say I have performance in my latest build then. I built it for long distance and it's been holding up magnificently. I cruise around at about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle unless I'm on a hill, only going wide open for short bursts

For the blue/black cranbrook, you could drill a hole in the side of where the silencer and pipe connect and put a rivet in there, that proper-ably could hold the silencer in and I’m pretty sure it shouldn’t affect the tuning much

Awesome content! I have the same bike berry kit. Work well for a few months. I use to use weed eater engines with a bike peg on the shaft to the wheel (Home Depot parts) as a friction drive setup and I swear that worked just as good for practically free. If your not handy the bike berry kit works fine.

Dingleberry kit junk . My Staton friction dr total reliable , 4k miles 1 2.3k miles the other . The Zanoah g430 it came with total no trouble reliable too only replaced fuel filters and fuel lines .all st riding at 35mph top end and 22mph cruise forever

I am with you i can do 45 but i love anywere from 12 to 20. Once in a great wile during a ride i rev it up or give it a go on a good strait, and that is to clean the carbon out of the engine. Pluss it lets me ride way more often with having to fix everything every time.

when you do end up doing the in-frame 4 stroke, I recommend the T belt transmission over any of the chain-drive options. Wayyy more torque and just generally smoother.

You're absolutely right about the two-stroke being the cheapest and more fun and would have four stroke is that's why I went with the 125-hour kit for the cheap 82 stroke the Japanese motor and you know what I've been happy whatever since I've gotten I've never had no problems with it yet knock on wood so I'd recommend that motor to anybody for the first time building the bike that is the way to go you're absolutely right Bud cheap Chinese motor the first time you're absolutely right you can have mad fun with it thank you again for all your helps and tips that's what helped me have fun with mine was your help in your tips

I agree with you on how unimportant top speed is. Almost all of the roads near me are steep hill climbs and all the trails are in the mountains, so I need low end torque more than anything else. Sure, going fast is fun, but in my experience, trying to ride all day at wide open throttle will inevitably break something.

I have owned Both types of motorized bicycles and a few electric ones and by far the best was and is my friction drive setup. Centrifugal clutch is hands down better than jack shaft. And if the engine fails just lift the motor off the wheel and you have zero reasons you can't pedal it home. If I Wana use on a different bike it takes like 7 min to switch it over . No lining up sprockets, no issue with chain stretch, no hard pedaling to start . Also top speed is the same regardless of tire size as it's speed is based on rpm not gears attached to the wheel .

hey hover, have you considered trying a high compression head? If you don't want to buy one, you can convert an old head by shaving down a little the bottom of it (is a very common mod here in brazil heh), there's a technique to shave it , using glass as a plane surface and fixing the sand paper on top of it, and sanding the head in light strokes in every direction. I think it's a nice mod to try

Best of both worlds.... predator 212cc with a torque converter!!! I have it on a 29 inch bike, you get tons of torque and top speed. Would love to see you do this. P.S. it does take some frame modifications.

I think it would be super interesting if you opened up a clutch and put a lazer thermometer up to the plate and just burn the hell outta it, I've asked alot out of these clutches before but they seem to keep on going, and I mean like, constantly slipping for almost a mile on a 49cc on a wet trail with a loaded trailer. Something makes me think that there is just so much surface area an so little actual force that it could do alot of that with no issue

Can anyone tell me if it will hurt my bicycle 2 stroke engine if I run it without an exhaust gasket? Will it seal without one, or will it warp the exhaust manifold where the pipe meets the cylinder? I know it's not good for regular motorcycle engines but will it hurt this engine? I bought a cheap expansion chamber pipe from ebay, and I don't like it. I like my modified stock exhaust a lot more. Now with this new exhaust I have cut the baffle out and it's too loud, and the power band sucks now IMO. I want to switch back but the new exhaust has melted, and ruined both of my gaskets. I couldn't find a straight answer looking on google. I hear an 02 Toyota Highlander oxygen sensor gasket works but I am broke atm.

For a street frame id go kent bayside or if you wanna deal with coaster brakes, huffy cranbrook or kent seachange.

you should consider trying non ethanol gas which is 90 octane. its way better for the bike and has shown me the best preformance.

Nice. Get Tannustires.com (airless/solid) so you never get a flat tire again and are you using a half link for perfect length chain? And yes i wish i had a 53 t sproket or bigger. Yd 100 wont even top in revs out on the 44 and im just stuck at stoplight after stoplight so my clutch pads just take a beating every day

@@christianscottsuzuki Tried Tannus tires on my motorized bike. Bike was hard to control on dry pavement over 25 miles per hour. I had two other people try the bike and they didn't like the way the tires rode on dry payment either. I replaced with kevlar tires much better!

To date (knock on wood) I have been super lucky. Only time I have ever called a ride is when I got a flat tire and forgot to bring my pump lol. But so far in five years, any motor issues have always been next to the house. I only take bikes on long trips that have been trouble free for at least a month.

And a nother thang a 38mm rod is a long rod 38mm rod is 4mm longer than a 40mm rod dont make much u need to watch the video on Fred's videos on the different size rods 40mm is the low hole piston but the 38mm is the high hole piston

To me you are trying to show bugget build here if it is whorth it 4 stroke only way to me 212cc with cvt yes theres another name for this but cvt is what it is this does 50 to 60 mph so 100 dallor frame is no go you need disc brades for this you can not go this fast and think you have snowballs chance in hell of stopping sorry if fast you You go you need to stop fast or be come part of twisted mess left over

I agree, if you take a 40lb motor passed 50mph you can no longer except standard bike parts to be reliable... I find my 10lb 2 stroke (that tops out around 35mph) to be nearing the limits, but still controllable in an emergency situation.

They are way overpriced,but the golden eagle kit would probably work good with that motor and also fit nicely on a female frame for your girl.
