If it’s the Gruyère you have trouble buying, you can swap it for Swiss, Monterey Jack or even cheddar. I just find the Gruyère to have the nicest flavour for this recipe. Thank you for commenting.

Looks really good. I'm A newbie with food so forgive me but where is the flavouring? Is it only the cheese or did I miss something?

Hi, thanks for commenting. You haven’t missed anything, the cheese, mushrooms and onions make up most of the flavour. It’s not meant to be overpowering in any direction but rather a creamy, cheesy side dish to accompany your main dish. All the elements combine and it’s quite delicious! I’d suggest fresh thyme or sage if you’re looking for more. Hope you give it a try and let me know what you think.
