Gorillas are gentle natured and will often take in or watch out for smaller weaker creatures. Silverbacks for example are basically in charge of dealing with conflict from outside and inside their group. If they see something Like a child is hurt they will try to care for it unless the situation seems severe. You could probably imagine how a large group of screaming people would make the situation seem more severe than it is to a gorilla. If they wanted to harm they are capable but they don’t have such violent temperaments.
